Chapter Text
Episode 0 1/2
‘Huh? Where am I?’ This was Su-ae’s first reaction to waking up and finding herself trapped in a room full of her classmates and her family. The room was white, with padded walls, and had a huge screen television in the center.
Under the television, there was a stand that had what looked like a remote on it.
Casting away initial confusion until she could figure out…what this is, Su-ae walks over to the people she can recognize— her sister and parents, and speaks, ‘Does anyone know anything that is going on?’
Her father shakes his head worriedly, ‘No baby, I was just talking with your mother in the living room a second ago, and then we were here.’ This is so weird and incredibly terrifying, Su-ae thinks. However, instead of replying, she nods hesitantly.
‘Little sis, don’t worry, I’m sure if we’ve been kidnapped then the police will find us soon.’ Ra-im, her beautiful and loving sister assures her. Her face is kind of sweaty though.
Her family falls into silence, Su-ae nervously looks around the room and notes everyone that she sees, her boyfriend for one, who is chatting with his friends.
Her classmates and friends from school and then.
Go Eunhyeok.
Eunhyeok was her boyfriend—Minu’s friend, so naturally just as much as she saw Minu, she saw Eunhyeok. They’ve never actually conversed as friends though, so she supposed it doesn’t matter.
Before she could think anymore on the subject of Go Eunhyeok, she was interrupted by the television screen turning on.
“Greetings.”
What the—
The television displayed the words and spoke at the same time, catching everyone’s attention. Some people were scared, others were angry, and some were on the verge of a heart attack.
‘Hey!’ One of the teachers spoke up, ‘What is the meaning of this? Who are you!’ Everyone else murmured in agreement with these questions.
“I figured you all would probably be scared, but there is no need.”
‘What do you mean "no need"!’ Su-ae could already feel the chaos that threatened to break out at any given moment.
“There is no need for all of you to be afraid, I’ve gathered you all today to watch a viewing.”
Murmurs broke out, "a viewing"? Why would a television—most likely a robot— go through the trouble of kidnapping all of them, just to watch a viewing?!
“Like I’ve done to others, you all will be subjected to watching a viewing of one person’s life, to get a deeper understanding of another’s perspective.”
No one commented so the screen continued.
“There are seats for you to sit in, I ask of each of you: no fighting, and only pause the show to converse, if need be.”
Suddenly, seats came up from the floors, and someone yelped and moved out of the way.
“If you ask for food or snacks, it will be provided to you, otherwise, you’ll just be watching the show. I suggest not trying to escape, many have done that before and have failed, miserably. None of you have any chance of escaping, so I advise you to get comfortable and hope that what you’ll be viewing is of your preference.”
“Everyone please take the seat with your name on it.”
Everyone listened, too afraid of what would happen if they disobeyed. Su-ae eventually found her seat after pushing through a bunch of panicking people but was shocked at who she was sitting in between.
While taking her seat, she observed the two seats on opposite sides of hers, taking in the names: Go Eunhyeok and Baek Dohwa.
Uhhh—
Nervously, she sat down, avoiding the curious eyes of the two boys and interestingly enough, her sister as well.
“Ok good, you’ve all settled in quite nicely! Much more obedient than the last bunch, now that you’ve all taken your seats, would you like to begin?”
Su-ae just hoped that whatever was being shown wouldn't have her in it.
Some people hesitantly shouted back a yes, and the screen flickered onto a screen with the words saying: “Operation: True Love Episode 0”
Well, this is off to a nice start.
