Work Text:

You stumbled through the hallway, the fog within your head making it hard to walk. You could hear the noise of bull clones walking around completing their duties.

Some of them noticed your presence, and they gave small waves toward you. You liked the bull clones, despite being silent they were some of the kindest creatures you'd ever known.

But even they couldn't clear the fog inside your mind. That feat could only be done by one person. But he wasn't here now, he wouldn't be for a while. You weren't even sure what time it was, but it must've been late because of how tired you were.

You rested along a wall, pushing your hand against it trying to keep balance. You started shaking, and you honestly thought you were going to fall over. But the moment you lost your balance, you felt a familiar pair of arms grab you from behind. Red Son lowered his head, just near your ear. His breath was hot, his voice low and deep, but he was so gentle with his words.

"Are you alright, my love?"

The second you heard his voice, the fog inside of your head vanished. A calming warmth washed over you and you sighed in relief. His voice was so soothing, as though he could calm every nerve in your body with a single word.

"You're not supposed to leave without someone with you, remember?" He whispered, rubbing his hand along your head as he spoke. He sternly scolded you, but he wasn't harsh. It was more like he was worried you would break. "I could've sent a bull clone with you if you wanted to leave." He chided, placing a soft kiss on your temple.

"I just...." Your words were hoarse, and it felt like they were stuck in your throat. You couldn't even attempt another sentence before he brought a finger to your mouth.

"Shh, don't fret. I'll just take you back to your room, wouldn't that be nice?"

You nodded, and he held your hands as he walked you back toward your room. It was then that you noticed a bull clone that was treading behind you both.

"My love..." He sighed, looking over at you as he held you up. You were so beautiful, so perfect, and you were all his. He chuckled when you lazily pointed toward the clone following you both. "He's just bringing your tea, my love, to help you sleep."

You didn't know what kind of blend it was, all you knew was that it made you feel good. It helped you sleep, made you feel warm and fuzzy, and made sure you were your peaceful self. At least that's what Red Son told you.

Red Son helped you sit down on the bed, holding your back so you could sit upright. The clone left the tray of tea on the nightstand and left the room.

You shuddered as you felt Red's tail slowly wrap around your waist. It wasn't tight, but somehow it always managed to get a reaction out of you.

He grabbed one of the mugs from the tray, and you felt a smile creep along your face. It was one of the mugs from your old life, one of the few things you were allowed to keep.

Red Son watches as you stare at the mug absently. He never understood why it brought you so much joy, it only had some blue cat on it. But he let you keep it anyway, after all, you only deserved the best in his eyes.

He brought the mug to your hands, making sure to let you get a firm grip on it.

"Now, let's be careful okay?" He hummed, "I don't want you to get burned."

His hands grazed along your own, helping you lift the mug to your mouth. He was careful not to squeeze them too tight, just enough to keep your hands from shaking.

"There we go." He said, smiling down at you. "Just like that, you're doing such a good job."

His praise only made you blush, after all, he spoke in a way that was so gentle. You'd both gotten so close over the past few weeks...or was it months? You weren't actually sure, you'd been there for such a long time. But you didn't care at all,

But you didn't care at all, he did look so pretty with his glamour down, with his red shiny eyes, his small horns, and the tail that was lightly teasing your thigh. His hair was down, which was a treat, he only had it down whenever he was about to go to bed. You didn't know why, it was very pretty.

"You've been so good to me, you really shouldn't stress yourself so much my love." He lowered himself just a little bit, enough to get right next to the ear. "You look much more devastating when you're like this."

"I thought devastating was a bad thing?" You croaked, your words barely audible. He still heard them, laughing with such a deep tone that you could feel the heat shoot to your abdomen.

"Oh, only for my heart my dear. I may be a master of fire but you," He says, getting even closer. "manage to melt it at every opportunity."

He continues helping you drink, praising you after every sip. After all, you were his love, you deserved nothing but the best. He'd never forgive himself if you were hurt, be it for even a second.

Once the mug was empty, he set it aside on a nightstand. He pulled you from behind into his lap, as he lightly grazed your arm. The scars were nearly fully healed, but there would always be a physical reminder it seemed. You didn't remember how you got them, he made sure you didn't.

"I'll never let them hurt you again, I promise." He whispered, still lightly grazing his hands over the scars. For what seemed like an eternity, he just held onto you, lightly rocking you back on forth as the warm embrace of sleep washed over you.

He lowered you down onto the bed, admiring just how adorable you were when you slept. You were the pinnacle of perfection, a delicate lotus flower that he was blessed to have in his presence.

He slowly left the room, careful not to wake you. He dimmed the lights and left into the hall. There was a large number of plaques and pictures plastered along the walls throughout the hallway, but one in particular always made him smile.

It was a newspaper clipping, one that showed his greatest achievement.

Monkie Kid And Friends Bested by Demon Bull Family: Who Will Save Us Now?

That dreaded Noodle Boy was demolished before he could even reach his full potential. Those heroes would never get in the way of his darling again, and one day you would rule this world by his side. You just needed a little push is all.

"Red Son?"

He heard your hoarse voice from the bedroom, cutting off his thought. He chuckled to himself, before peaking his head into the bedroom.

"I'm sorry my love, I didn't know you wanted to sleep together. Are you cold?"

You gave a small nod and raised your arms a bit. You made a small grabbing motion with your hands, signaling that you wanted him to cuddle you. He climbed onto the bed and pulled you into his chest.

"You're just too cute, you know that?" He soothed, as he watched your eyelids fall. "I love you so much, my darling."
