She's... not gonna be happy about this...

Summary:

Mafia life is fun in Hinata's terms, even when her wife was the chief of police.

Getting Shot by her wife wasn't, but it's fine.

She'll tease her about it tonight.

Notes:

(See the end of the work for notes.)

Work Text:

Hinata personally thought she was the best mafia boss in her home turf.

She had very loyal members, she was incredibly feared by others, happily taking out smaller groups who dared challenge her, but still didn’t have to resort to violence on her own people to keep loyalty.

Hell, she’s converted people from other groups to get them to join her, pledging their loyalty after taking actions to invalidate their pledge to their other leader.

Hinata had made other leaders pledge loyalty to her, so she was fairly confident in her skill.

Oh, and the final part, being that she had the chief of police wrapped around her finger.

Well… maybe more like around each other's fingers, if the wedding band she wore signified anything.

The fact Hinata had gone to events at the police station as the other’s wife, yet they never realized she was also the feared Miss Aoi left her amused.

It did also matter that Hinata always used her wife’s last name when maintaining the public persona, but she knew that it went in reverse when she introduced her people to her wife.

It was because of that, that her section of the mafia was so rarely caught, as the poor chief of police kept narrowly missing them, and the ever merciful Miss Aoi was against taking police as hostages.

Hinata did actually take down a rival gang for the reason of having kidnapped her wife.

Her second in command (who just so happened to be her brother), politely didn’t comment on it, and instead explained it as it would be poor for them if someone else got control of the police.

Yuuta also didn’t mention when after the save happened, Hinata pulled that same chief of police down a hall, and when she came back (without the police) her shirt collar was a little messed up.

All of these factors existed, but still meant Hinata did get into shootouts with the police force, her wife included.

She really was glad she took the time to up her outfit, flashy yet very moveable, to include a mask.

But, in the process of popping up and shouting out orders, firing at a few other cops, she felt the sharp pain of a bullet in her arm, crying in pain.

She also heard a voice she knew very well mutter shit-! as she whipped her head around, seeing who shot her.

Tsukasa Suou, chief of police. Also known as Tsukasa Aoi when around the mafia, not as the cop, and best known to Hinata as her wife.

She shot a bullet just over Tsukasa’s head, definitely making sure her wife knew that she knew, before ducking back down and clutching her arm.

“Shit shit shit ow- ” Hinata muttered, seeing Yuuta look over and sigh.

“Retreat?”

“No Mister Aoi, I think I’d rather keep fighting with a bullet in my fucking arm-” Behind Yuuta’s matching mask (well, different but the same, color pallets were different although the two would often switch to make it harder to tell who was the true leader and who was the second in command), Hinata could see him narrow his eyes.

“Lose the sass before you lose your tongue.” Yuuta muttered, taking Hinata’s gun and popping up to shoot back, before giving a hand signal to the others. “Split up! Regroup at base, don’t let anyone follow you!”

Quickly trading cloaks to better hide the two, Hinata and Yuuta ran off in different directions, hearing Tsukasa bark orders as well.

Hinata knew those were orders to send the police after the most impossible members to track, being Rei and Shinobu, and the rest to fall back, so they were pretty safe.

Easily making it back to base, Yuuta wasn’t too far behind her, as they both sighed once they were safe.

“Gotta admit, I love this mansion, we gotta give it to Sakuma.” Hinata hummed, taking off the cloak and hanging it up, seeing Yuuta shrug.

“Mhm, now go find Itsuki to get your arm fixed up, and your outfit.” Yuuta hummed, seeing Hinata pout.

“Itsuki is gonna care more about my outfit than my arm, why can’t I go to Kiryu??”

“Kiryu is out on a mission to negotiate with Hasumi, in case you forgot.”

Hinata huffed, only crossing one arm since the other was still hurting, as Yuuta shot her a half hearted glare.

“Would you rather go to Sakasaki to get it fixed up, and be subject to whatever weird experimental medicine they have?” Yuuta wore a teasing smile, as Hinata shivered before sighing.

“I’ll go find Itsuki…”

“Good, I’ll make sure everyone else gets back safe.”

Hinata nodded, turning on her heel and walking up the stairs, and then through the elaborate hallways in the mansion, before knocking on the door she was looking for.

“Itsuki!!!” There was a moment of silence, before the door opened, the taller woman looking down at Hinata.

“Miss Aoi, I see you haven’t died yet.”

“My my, such a rude way to greet your boss! I’ll have you know I’m in almost perfect shape, which means your pledge of loyalty still stands!”

Shu just sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose, before looking down at Hinata’s arm.

“...you got hurt. Ruining my precious work?” Hinata knew that was about the outfit, as she sighed.

“Yes yes, I ruined the beautiful outfit because I have a bullet in my arm, can you help me with that before the outfit?”

“Well I’ll have to remake that sleeve at the least, so long you didn’t bleed on anything else!” Shu huffed, but dragged Hinata into the room.

Hinata found it really so much easier to focus on other things when Shu treated her, partly running over what was left to do for the day, before being able to leave and go home.

She very rarely spent her nights in the mansion, unless Tsukasa was coming over, but that was tomorrow and not tonight.

Tonight she went to a very different mansion that her wife owned.

And as soon as she got there she was going to make sure her wife realized her fuck up, humming softly.

Would no kisses be enough? Hell, she could just ignore her for part of the night, it was very easy to do when living in a massive mansion…

Shu clicking her tongue brought her back into the moment, having laid out a different outfit for Hinata.

“Change into that, and leave me your outfit to fix.”

Hinata nodded, hopping up and getting changed behind the curtain Shu had, before leaving the outfit and waving, running out and down the hall.

As soon as she was at the balcony next to the big staircase, she whistled, catching the attention of everyone who was in the shootout, as they all looked up.

“Ah!~ Miss Aoi lives!!!” Sora cheered, as Hinata simply giggled, doing a quick count of everyone, before pausing.

“Where’s Shinobu?” Hinata looked down, noticing how Yuuta had been nervously pacing back and forth.

Hinata wasn’t blind to Yuuta’s obvious crush on the other boy, as Midori spoke up.

“He was being followed pretty close… I really hope we don’t have to do a jailbreak, or recover his body…”

Hinata saw Yuuta’s face pale, as Tetora elbowed Midori in return.

“Don’t say that! I know he’ll be ok, he’s probably just being super careful!!” Tetora smiled brightly, as Hinata clapped her hands together, giggling softly.

“There we are, let’s keep that positivity!! Even if it’s wrong, we don’t know!” She ran over to the railing, sliding down it before doing a flip, landing in the center of her people. “If I know anything about Shinobu, and trust me, I know a lot about all of you, he’ll probably be here about… now!”

As if on cue, the door opened as Shinobu walked in, a little out of breath. Hinata wore a little cocky smirk at her timing, as Yuuta rolled his eyes before running over to make sure Shinobu wasn’t hurt.

Hinata decided to let Yuuta be, as she instead walked over to Rei.

“Sakuma, how did the getaway go?” Hinata tilted her head, as Rei smiled softly.

“Wonderfully, I’m pretty sure your wife felt guilty after shooting you, as she did order to ignore the leaders.” Rei smirked, seeing Hinata blink a few times.

“...did you just say my wife?”

“Miss Aoi, most of us are smarter than the police force and other mafia families. We know she’s your wife. The cops are still clueless, as well as other mafia leaders, but you don’t exactly hide how aware you are of why we have the police basically in our pocket.”

Hinata just kinda smiled nervously, as Rei ruffled her head.

“How long have you known?”

“Oh, sweet child, from the moment you put a ring on your finger.” Rei smirked, as Hinata muffled a groan into her hands.

“I’m gonna assign you to assist Itsuki for a week I swear,” Hinata muttered, seeing Rei’s eyes light up before continuing. “ And put her on a deadline, so she won’t let you distract her.”

That made Rei frown, as Hinata spun on her heel and walked off, calling back for a second.

“Bring me the report before the night is over, or else I promise that won’t just be a threat!~”

Hinata heard a scoff, as Rei responded.

“Yes Miss Aoi.”

It was fun, honestly.

Hinata liked the power, as she played with a dagger on her walk back to the office.

If only she didn’t now have to deal with the boring part…

Paperwork.

-----

Letting out an upset groan, Hinata ended up banging her head against the desk, as Yuuta looked over.

“You alright there Miss Aoi?~”

“Shut up Yuuta, it’s just you and me so don’t act formal.” Hinata muttered, as Yuuta let out a laugh in return.

“Alright Hinata, you can just say that you want to go home though instead of hurting yourself while doing paperwork.”

Hinata looked up, sticking her tongue out at Yuuta, who mimicked the action.

He was right, but she still hated him for it.

“You’re not gonna get any more of that done, are you?”

“Not at all.”

“I’ll assign it to Isara then.”

“Wait- why?” Hinata looked up, before flipping through some of the papers and locking her eyes on one with Mao’s name.

Hinata just blinked a few times, before groaning.

“You’re kidding.”

“You know his boyfriend is persuasive…” Yuuta hummed, as Hinata rolled her eyes.

“Husband now, but god we can’t let the police get too close to us-”

“You invite the chief of police over on the regular-!” Yuuta glared as he spoke, as Hinata rolled her eyes.

“She’s my wife, and has proven she won’t catch us!~” Hinata hummed, spinning her pen. “We’ll test Ritsu later, to make sure he won’t betray us either. Give Isara the rest of the paperwork and the stamp, he knows what to do.”

Standing up, Hinata stretched slightly, before walking to the door to leave.

“Are you going to get back at your poor wife?~” Yuuta hummed, as Hinata shot a cocky smirk.

“She shot me, it’s only fair!~”

Yuuta rolled his eyes, as Hinata walked out.

Yeah, this would be fun.

-----

Walking up to the door, Hinata took a deep breath, before opening the door to her home.

She decided against ignoring her wife, since Tsukasa was way too pretty to ignore.

“Welcome home Hina!” Tsukasa called from the living room, likely using the nickname to try and soften the blow, but she seemed to also be on auto pilot, as she continued. “How was your day?”

Hinata could feel that she realized her mistake, as Hinata hummed as she walked into the living room, jumping the couch and flopping down on Tsukasa’s lap.

“Oh, you know. Pretty good, got into a shootout, you shot me! ” Hinata shifted to an annoyed look, as Tsukasa seemed to have expected it and just sighed.

“I’m sorry! I thought you were your brother and also thought you saw me “aiming” at you!”

“I was more focused on Sena, the terrifying bastard that man is with a gun!”

Tsukasa let out a small sigh, pressing a kiss to Hinata’s forehead as Hinata pouted.

“Are you actually mad at me shooting you or are you mad at me for what you had to do after getting shot.”

Hinata huffed, knowing it was the second one, and stayed silent, confirming it for Tsukasa.

“Was it Itsuki who patched you up?” Tsukasa asked, as Hinata let out a small groan in confirmation, resting her head on Tsukasa’s lap. Tsukasa simply started playing with her hair, making Hinata relax into the touch a little. “You do remember that you’re the boss, you can make her be nice.”

“Well yeah but that takes all the fun out of it!” Hinata sighed, as Tsukasa simply raised an eyebrow in return. “Aside from the fact I haven’t made it this far by being a cruel bastard to my family, and I'm not starting now, Itsuki is entertaining! I just don’t like being scolded…”

“I have to scold you half the time for being reckless.”

“You’re also my wife, so~”

Tsukasa rolled her eyes, flicking Hinata’s head in response.

Hinata just smiled brightly, sitting up and shifting to straddle Tsukasa’s lap, cupping her face as well.

“Which, by the way, we have a little business to talk about.”

We? ” Tsukasa smirked a little, rolling her eyes. “I so rarely get dragged into your business, do we need Mrs. Aoi to help plan again?”

“Not yet, although I’m certain the family would love to see you again since you always bring them the finest gifts~” Hinata smiled, before continuing. “No actually, it’s about your lovely little police force and how we have a thing for intermingling with them!~”

“...Hinata, you’re gonna have to explain that a bit more.”

“Remember how a few weeks ago we went to the lovely wedding between Isara and Ritsu?” Tsukasa nodded, as Hinata hummed. “Isara is part of the Aoi family, but Ritsu is on your side. Most of the family offered Isara support and gifts outside of the wedding, since the police force was there and only a few of us are wonderful at hiding ourselves.”

“Right,” Tsukasa started tracing gentle shapes on Hinata’s waist, making her hum softly. “Where is our problem?”

“Ritsu’s loyalty is our problem. I’m not sure if he’s as willing to protect the entire family as you are, or if he’s only willing to protect Isara.” Tsukasa let out a small hum of understanding, falling silent to think it through.

Hinata enjoyed these soft moments, even if they were plotting much more than any normal chief of police or mafia leader would. Being able to hold each other like this always made her smile.

Tsukasa seemed to have an idea though, speaking up again.

“So, you want to know how loyal Ritsu is, right?” Hinata nodded, as Tsukasa hummed. “Does Ritsu know he’s in the mafia?”

“Mhm, he knows that much, but I don’t know if he knows the family Mao is a part of, or how much about our family he knows.”

“Send him a letter.”

“What?”

Hinata looked at Tsukasa confused, blinking a few times, as Tsukasa smiled.

“Invite Ritsu to a private meeting place, mentioning you’re the leader of Isara’s family, and how you want to talk since you heard about the marriage.”

“Mhm…” Hinata had moved her hands to gently rest on Tsukasa’s shoulders, letting her continue.

“Tell him to come alone, but assure him he can come armed if it makes him feel safer. That’s the way he’s most likely to agree. If you do that, then we can see what happens. If he comes to be with the letter, that’s telling right there. If he comes, try to negotiate and see how his loyalty is. You’ll probably have to be alone, but I know you’d be able to get out safely even if he attacked you.”

Hinata paused, before smiling softly and nuzzling their noses together.

“You’re such a genius, you know?”

“You tell me that a lot~” Tsukasa lightly teased back, as the two kept their foreheads pressed together.

“And I mean it everytime, aren’t I lucky to have you as my wife?”

“You certainly are.”

“You need to come back soon Mrs. Aoi, we all miss you!~”

“Ah, many apologies, but in a week there is a ball with some very wealthy people, and while I have to miss it, I think Mrs. Suou has been requested.”

“Have I?” Hinata tilted her head, smiling softly before leaning the slightest bit closer, stealing a soft kiss before pulling back. “I guess I should prepare for that after the meeting with Ritsu, shouldn’t I?”

“Mhm, and I should probably prepare the gifts for tomorrow night, since we will be staying with the Aoi family, won’t we?”

Hinata nodded, before threading her fingers through Tsukasa’s hair, noticing how Tsukasa easily moved her arms to properly wrap around Hinata, pulling her a little closer.

“Correct, but for tonight it is just the two of us, is it not?”

“That would seem to be true.”

Hinata hummed softly, easily moving to steal another kiss. Neither of them seemed to mind when one kiss turned into many more.

Hinata was always happy to take a break from the two of them having to be leaders and planning, as exciting as that life was.

After all, it was plenty exciting to get lost in these moments, both pulling the other closer softly, not wanting to move too far away from the others lips.

End of the day, they were still just in love.

And Hinata liked kissing her wife.

Something no one could blame her for.

-----

Hinata had decided to follow through with the plan Tsukasa gave her, having sent the letter but being aware she had to wait till tomorrow to meet with Ritsu.

So today? Dress shopping.

She did have to go to an event as Mrs. Suou after all, and really wearing the same dress she had before didn’t help show she was on equal footing with these rich people, aside from her past.

Having a sob story made it much easier to make these people feel guilty for not helping the lower class.

Tsukasa had told Hinata that the way she made these people so stuck up in their wealth both respected and feared Hinata as herself was one of the things that made Tsukasa want to marry her.

Hinata still remembered how she instantly pulled the other into a kiss at that, but she didn’t linger on that, looking at the current dress.

She still chose to shop at poorer businesses, but adored the works they could make and did her best to give them much more money to keep growing.

Tsukasa gave her permission, after all.

“Is this to your taste Mrs. Suou?” the lady helping her asked softly, having been carefully tailoring another dress while helping Hinata.

“Hm… I think it is, is it possible for us to raise the skirt a little? Heels will probably help me but an inch or two higher would make it perfect!”

It was a beautiful jade green dress, and Hinata loved how it looked. If it wasn’t for how she had been raised, she wouldn’t have mentioned the length, but she preferred being able to move without fear of tripping.

The seamstress nodded, as Hinata smiled brightly.

“Wonderful! Will you want me back tomorrow or the day after to pick it up?”

“Tomorrow should be fine, but we can hold it until you’re ready.”

“Tomorrow works,” Hinata smiled softly, setting down some cash and seeing the woman’s eyes widen. “Ah, that’s for the wonderful help and alteration, I’ll pay for the dress when I come back tomorrow!”

“T-thank you, I’ll make sure your dress is in perfect care.” The woman smiled brightly, as Hinata giggled and walked out after changing.

As she exited, she found Rei with the umbrella over his head, as he shot her a teasing glare.

“You’re going to scare people if you keep giving small businesses this much money.”

“And?” Hinata hummed, looking up at him with a smile. “You’re the one who gives me the cash to dump on people. The only people I scare like this are the same people who sell cheap products for so much more. Those also being people we enjoy stealing from?~”

Rei shrugged, before sighing.

“Why do you need me again, are you not done shopping?”

“I’m done shopping for what I need, but it’s good for the both of us to show our faces a little for the public persona!”

Rei rolled his eyes, as Hinata smirked at him.

“Look, I know it’s the Sakuma brand to be basically unseen ever until appearing at a party, but occasionally you still have to go out.”

Rei didn’t choose to humor her by admitting she was right, instead walking a little faster and making her speed up.

“Is that truly all?” Rei asked finally, as she hummed,

“Well, aside from needing to establish that while Mrs. Suou stays inside, she still enjoys going out,” Hinata paused her sentence for a moment, waving at the owner of one of the stores she frequented, before continuing. “I also happen to have a meeting with your brother tomorrow, and hopefully it’ll end peacefully. But negotiating is something fickle, so I wanted to see what you had to say.”

“Ah, that makes more sense.” Rei hummed, thinking as they walked. “Ritsu wasn't exactly pleased with me joining and leaving him when I did, but you also took over my family, didn’t you?~” Hinata hummed, nodding with a small smile. “Aside from that, he doesn’t really care either way. He doesn’t even particularly care for being a cop, he just wanted to get back at me. He’s an expert strategist, and very smart, so no good will come from trying to trick him.”

“We don’t want to trick him,” Hinata added, looking up at Rei. “We want him to not use Isara to rat us out.”

“He’ll likely compromise in that case,” Rei hummed, as Hinata smiled. “He’s going to be suspicious of tricks, so as long as you’re fairly open all should be good.”

“In the letter we told him that he was to come alone, but he was allowed to come armed if it made him safer. I did say it’d be a private meeting, but he might not believe that…”

“Did a certain Mrs. Aoi come up with this?” Rei asked, seeing Hinata pause.

“You do know I plan myself as well-”

“Answer the question.”

“...Fuck you.” Rei chuckled at that, as Hinata just pouted at him, rolling her eyes. “How could you even-”

“It fits her style more, that’s all.”

Hinata sighed, but kept walking.

“Still, this… has to go well. I don’t want to have to cut Isara free since he’s valuable, and I definitely don’t want to have to eliminate either Ritsu or Isara.” Hinata felt Rei put a hand on her shoulder, as she took a deep breath.

“Just relax, you aren’t where you are for no reason,” Rei offered a small smile, calming her down a little. “We’ll deal with seeing what sacrifices must be made after we see how the negotiations go. It’s possible no bloodshed will be needed.”

Hinata nodded, smiling softly before her eyes lit up.

“Sakuma- wait, we really must stop at this shop!”

Rei just narrowed his eyes, but let himself be pulled in.

Public persona’s were important.

-----

Hinata, of course, was early to the meeting spot.

She always was, even if half the time she arrived fashionably late.

She didn’t become the famous and feared Miss Aoi without always arriving before any traps could be set.

She was hiding above the ally she told Ritsu to meet her, although she knew better.

Hinata did keep her promise of showing up alone as well, but did have a few people about 5 blocks away, so if needed she’d have backup.

She was in the usual attire for meetings, which was different from heists and other fun public appearances.

A very elegant, but still flowy blouse, with a black ribbon tied around the collar, a beautiful light pink gem in the center. Since it was later in the day, thus colder, she had still settled for tight fitting black pants. The tall boots she wore went up to mid calf, heeled so that if needed getting kicked could still break skin, but not meant to look threatening alone. White gloves were also on her hands, carefully tailored to be moveable and thin, but still very opaque.

She’d look like a fairly well put together noble, aside from the mask on her face.

It was a white mask, similar to ones at masquerades, with golden accents.

This outfit just so happened to be the one that everyone knew was worn by Miss Aoi at meetings, the question always laid in was it truly the Miss Aoi.

The debates held by other leaders over which person was the true man behind the mask always amused her, and she had even made people question if Miss Aoi was truly a woman.

It was a safety measure, as lots of meetings could be traps, and she didn’t want them to know who was truly her.

Ritsu was lucky he was meeting with the real deal, honestly. She did have a dagger with her, but it was obviously strapped to her waist, more as a safety measure than a threat.

After a while of waiting, Hinata smiled once she saw Ritsu approaching the area. It seemed he was checking for any traps or surprise attacks as well, and while he did have a pistol on his side he hadn’t drawn it.

Hinata waited a moment, before jumping down from her hiding spot, earning a small flinch from the cop.

“My~ I thought I had heard that officer Ritsu Sakuma was never caught off guard!” Hinata had a small hum in her voice, noticing how Ritsu’s eyes narrowed at the last name.

“I’m not often, I guess I can applaud you for hiding yourself while wearing white and still surprising me though…” Ritsu went back to a small smirk, as he held out a hand. “The mask style is familiar though, I didn’t know Maakun was working with the ever elusive Miss Aoi.”

“Aww, the cops do their homework on me~” Hinata giggled, taking the hand and shaking it gently. Even through the gloves, she could feel that his hands were cold, much like his brothers. “Well, this negotiation can go as fast or slow as you’d like, but if you’d like the luxury of letting us take our time we can move somewhere much nicer.”

“I certainly don’t like being rushed into a choice, but I don’t love the idea of being led into a trap either.”

Hinata smiled softly, before leaning against the alley wall.

“Oh, we don’t have to go anywhere else, and there’s certainly no trap.”

With a wink, Hinata leaned back a little further, pressing a brick and feeling the wall move with her.

With the wall turned to expose a room, Hinata politely bowed and let Ritsu in, shutting the wall behind her.

It wasn’t too fancy, a well taken care of room with a desk and two chairs.

There were other amenities here too, but Hinata didn’t feel like flattering Ritsu, instead walking in and sitting down at the slightly fancier chair, resting her elbows on the desk and her chin on her hands.

Ritsu sat down across from her, seemingly a little surprised by this, as Hinata smiled.

“So, as I said in the letter, congratulations on your marriage!” Hinata hummed, drumming her fingers on the desk. “But, with that arrangement it means we have to talk, since I can’t have you ratting us out.”

“What exactly are you asking of me?” Ritsu hummed, just cocking an eyebrow at her.

“A promise, that you won’t use Isara to gain info on us, and trust that aside from not having people get suspicious you won’t capture anyone in the family.”

Ritsu simply smiled, as he leaned back in his chair.

“I have no actual desire to catch any of you, you know,” Ritsu smiled, as Hinata cocked her head to the side. “Please, the only person I’d want to arrest is my brother, but the fact you overthrew his family and made him below you? Satisfying as hell.”

“So we have an agreement?~”

“I think we do.”

Hinata held her hand out, as Ritsu easily shook it.

“Well then,” Hinata hummed happily, as she leaned back. “Go home to your husband!”

Ritsu nodded, leaving the hidden room carefully, as Hinata played with her dagger for a moment.

It was nice when these things went smoothly.

With a hum, she finally stood up to leave, calling her people to tell them to go back.

After all, no harm was done nor needed.

-----

Hinata didn’t like this.

Being Mrs. Suou meant reputation was a must, and also meant that she couldn’t just fight people.

Which meant as she was on her way home from the party, which she thinks went quite well, she could only resist so much when a rival mafia family grabbed her and pulled her into an ally.

She normally would flip around and get her legs around the attacker's neck, but that would be strange for her…

So instead she had to simply struggle, before panicking once she was put into a choke hold.

“Now now… don’t struggle so much~” she heard the voice almost purr behind her, cutting her airflow off much faster then she’d like. “We won’t treat you too poorly, but you’ll be a lovely bargaining chip with the police~”

She tried to kick behind her, making contact but also losing balance and ending up on the ground, the man using his body weight to aid the attempt to knock her out.

She didn’t miss the man threatening to do horrible things to her, but tried to ignore it.

Honestly, this man was a funny one, as she felt conciseness slipping.

Have fun with that, bitch. Tsukasa won’t be pleased.

-----

Waking up tied to a chair wasn’t pleasant really…

And while she could get out, once again it wasn’t very befitting for the ever elegant, terrifying only on the mental and political field, Mrs. Suou.

She didn’t like waking up to see this many men watching her though.

“Can I help you, gentlemen?” Hinata tilted her head to the side, as one of the men stepped forward.

“Depends, what can your wife offer us, doll?” The man tilted her chin up, as she narrowed her eyes.

“Don’t call me doll. My wife will rescue me.”

“Oh I’m sure she will~ it’s just a matter of how much we can do first~” the man leaned forward, one hand slipping to Hinata’s waist, still holding her chin.

Hinata could see this man had the brooch, proving he was the head of this family, as she shut her eyes tightly. She didn’t like this. She wanted to fight but the risk of ruining the Aoi family would be horrible.

“It’ll be easier if you play along doll~”

“I’d rather die.”

The man hummed, running a finger over her lips, making her open her eyes with a glare.

“There’s so many better things to do with you then make you a corpse…~”

As Hinata felt an unfamiliar fear creep down her spine, a gunshot rang out.

Hinata felt the man’s body slump on her, her face shifting to one of disgust as the blood stained her outfit and her.

The other men in the room seemed to panic, as another gunshot rang out, yet another man falling.

As a door kicked open, Tsukasa held her gun up, the other men panicking.

“Gentlemen. Let’s talk. I have a sharpshooter hidden above, and we can easily mow all of you down. In addition, your leader is dead.” Tsukasa wore a threatening smile, as the other men all dropped their guns. “Smart choice, glad you understood what that meant. Untie her and remove your horrid leader's body from my wife.”

One of the men quickly scrambled to do that, as Hinata quickly ran over to Tsukasa’s side, clinging to her arm.

Tsukasa kissed her forehead, before leaning into the walkie-talkie on her shoulder.

“Narukami, can you and Sena wrap this up and arrest these men? I’m going to take my wife home.”

Tsukasa and Hinata heard the confirmation over the walkie-talkie, as Tsukasa escorted her out.

Hinata nuzzled into Tsukasa’s side, waiting until they got back to her mansion before pulling Tsukasa down into a kiss.

Tsukasa easily melted into it, kicking the door shut and gently pushing Hinata against the wall. Hinata simply wrapped her arms around Tsukasa’s neck, pulling her even closer.

Only once they needed to breathe did they part, as Hinata tried to catch her breath. Tsukasa just smirked down at her, kissing her nose.

“God I hate seeing other men touch you…” Tsukasa muttered, as Hinata hummed softly.

“Dangerous, since it’s really, really hot when you have that pissed off look~” Hinata didn’t miss Tsukasa rolling her eyes, as she leaned down.

“And you’re hot covered in blood, but I don’t exactly go getting captured to see that now do I?~”

“You could, it’s much easier to take down other mafia families when I’m looking for them with a vengeance~” Hinata giggled, before pausing as she looked down at herself. “Although, my poor dress is ruined …”

Tsukasa laughed softly, rolling her eyes as she swept Hinata up into a bridal style carry.

“You never wear a dress more than once, since we know that’s the one thing that the other rich families will for some reason be a snob about~”

“You’re the one who taught me that, you sound like how I did when you were telling me these rules!~”

Tsukasa hummed, kissing her forehead as she kept walking to their bathroom.

“Still, you’re not gonna wear this dress again.”

“But I liked the person who made it! They put so much care into it…”

“Can we not go back and buy more from them..?”

Hinata paused, realizing Tsukasa was right, and humming.

“Fair. I wanna give them more money.”

“Thought so~ now, let’s get you cleaned up.”

Hinata nodded, snuggling into Tsukasa’s hold.

She had to admit, she did love her wife so much more than words could describe.

And sometimes, as much as she’d never admit it…

Just being Mrs. Suou was lovely.

Although, it’s not like she’d give up Miss Aoi anytime soon.

-----

Hinata did love heists, and shootouts, and all of the fun stuff that got the adrenaline running through her.

When she could hear the blood rushing in her ears as she ran, jumping over people and objects, it left her laughing like there was no other joy in the world.

But, the other battlefield she excelled on left her just as excited, as Hinata looked over at Yuuta.

Nodding, the two of them walked into the room, catching the attention of almost every other mafia family leader.

When it came to these meetings, the two opted for the more casual outfit, Hinata still in the white, but Yuuta’s being a color swap. A black top instead of white, same with the gloves, but white pants instead of the black Hinata wore.

In addition, Yuuta had a blue gem instead of pink, and a black mask.

The people in the room still couldn’t be certain if it was truly them, but one thing was clear.

It was at least a meeting, blessed by both Miss and Mister Aoi.

“Well, no need to halt everything for us!~” Hinata chimed, walking a little further, Yuuta one step behind her.

“Miss Aoi, it’s a pleasure to have you and Mister Aoi here,” A man stepped forward, taking her hand and kissing the back of it. She noted it was her left hand, humming softly in return.

After all, right hands were used for pledges, kissing her right hand might be foolish.

She also noticed that he wore the angel wings on his outfit, marking him as a member of the Tenshouin family.

Hinata knew that family, possibly the most feared under her, but also knew one important thing.

This wasn’t truly Mister Tenshouin.

Hinata had found the true one out through some… underhand ways when she was smaller in the mafia.

But, with a charming smile, she just gave him a small nod.

“Mister Tenshouin, it’s a pleasure to be here. You so rarely invite me to these.”

“You so rarely accept when we do.”

They both gave a small smile, as Mister Tenshouin turned to address the room.

“Well, now that you’re here, we can discuss what we held this for!” The other family representatives turned, as Yuuta stepped up beside Hinata. “This is actually something we wanted to discuss with you, Miss Aoi.”

“Oh? Do explain?”

“Well, your family is very interesting in your perspective, with not kidnapping any police members,” Mister Tenshouin explained, walking towards the center of the room. “So, we were contemplating if that should be the standard, instead of the stranger choice.”

There were murmurs from the rest of the family heads, as Hinata hummed.

“Well, as the outlier, if I may?” Mister Tenshouin nodded, as Hinata stepped forward, Yuuta right behind her. “The reason we don’t capture them is due to the fact that we have our own ways of keeping them out of our hair at times. Many different diversion tactics, ones I’ll have to keep secret, but those keep us from having to take hostages.”

“In addition,” Yuuta spoke up, as Hinata stepped behind him slightly, to let him keep the attention. “The police are a little more lenient since they know we don’t capture nor harm them unnecessarily. There certainly are benefits, but in addition there are drawbacks, as we are a little lacking in information there.”

The people seemed to nod, as Hinata hummed, taking the focus back again.

“Simply put, my feelings on it are that I don’t think there should be any rules to it. It all matters in how your family works.”

Hinata and Yuuta stepped back, seeing people start discussing.

Hinata didn’t really pay too much attention, simply adding to conversations whenever needed, as before she knew it people started leaving.

Hinata and Yuuta lagged behind, waiting for the room to empty before Hinata approached Mister Tenshouin.

“Miss Aoi, can I help you?” He looked over at her, smiling softly as she smiled back.

“Well, aside from wondering why you held this meeting, especially after the rumors that have spread about the fall of an entire family from one foolish kidnapping attempt to get the police aiding them…” Mister Tenshouin’s face only barely shifted, but enough to confirm that was the reason this was held, she continued. “I do have to ask, why are you here?”

“...What do you mean by that?”

“I guess it would be more fitting to ask why aren’t you here?” She hummed, rocking back and forth on her heels, Yuuta calmly standing beside her. “The strategies we have work well for hiding our true faces when we constantly change who wears the title, but it’s not useful when I know the true face.”

Mister Tenshouin let out a small displeased hum, but didn’t try to trick her any longer at least.

“Why should I tell you why he isn’t here, are you that eager to take any chance given to take us out?”

“Oh, not at all,” Yuuta chimed in, wearing a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes, as under the mask there was almost a sadistic glint in his eyes. “We already know enough about you to keep your family below us, if not I don’t want to imagine the fight we’d have between us.”

Mister Tenshouin stayed silent, as Hinata gave a much more innocent smile.

“Well, I simply ask you to give him a message for me!”

“What message, Miss Aoi?”

“That there are easier ways to remind me of his presence and test me, instead of these passive aggressive meetings we share.” Hinata’s eyes narrowed as she spoke, still smiling, before turning. “Come Mister Aoi, we must be off!”

Yuuta easily followed her, leaving the other man alone.

Once out of ear shot, Hinata let out a groan, slipping into the passenger seat of the car as Yuuta sat in the driver's seat.

“You alright there Miss Aoi?” Yuuta asked, as Hinata quickly checked the car for anything that could show they’d been bugged. People listening or tracking would be a problem.

Once she was sure it was safe, she sighed, resting her head back against the headrest.

“Fine Yuuta, I’m just… always nervous when dealing with the Tenshouin family. Mister Tenshouin is only below us because we have enough cards against him that if we left an anonymous tip to the police he’d be undone. That’s the only reason we hold power.” Hinata sighed, as Yuuta started the car and glanced over.

“And the fact we hold the families he made enemies of in our power, don’t forget,” Yuuta made eye contact with her for a moment, before looking back at the road. “Sakuma, Itsuki, Shinkai, and Sakasaki. Hell, we have Tsukinaga on our side too. Tenshouin knows of their feelings for him, but once he made enemies of them and weakened them, instead of being able to make them pledge to him, we got them instead.”

“Right… we still lost Hibiki though…” Hinata sighed, as Yuuta rolled his eyes.

“We still have more than enough to keep him under us, don’t worry so much Hinata.”

“You neglect the fact he also has information about us.” Hinata noticed Yuuta tense a little, as she sighed. “Don’t be foolish, you know that meeting was targeted at us since he knows just how I have the police in our pocket. He knows our true face as well, but that’s information he seems to have withheld from the others in his family.”

“...How can you tell?”

“Most people, if they knew the true Miss and Mister Aoi approached them, would react a little differently. Most hint they understand it’s truly us as well in how they greet us. Simply saying it’s a pleasure is what they’d tell anyone with the mask and gem. When I first met with Mister Tenshouin as myself, he told me it’s a pleasure to meet me face to face. We had sent other Miss Aoi’s to meet him before.”

Yuuta nodded, as Hinata leaned to look out the window.

“I just… wonder what he’s planning.”

“What do you mean, Hinata?”

“Well… specifically only calling out the police being kidnapped, when it wasn’t a police officer kidnapped that still led to that family being ruined…” Hinata hummed, drumming her fingers on the edge. “Either he is, or he knows of someone who is, is going to make a move against the police. And while Miss Aoi shouldn’t have to worry about that…”

“Mrs. Suou would.” Yuuta finished, as Hinata nodded. “The Aoi family has recused police from other mafia families as well, so we’re not helpless if that’s what is to happen.”

“No, but I question why he’d make it a point to inform me.”

The two fell silent for a little, before Hinata spoke up again.

“I also have to wonder why he wasn’t there. Once we get back to the mansion, send Sakuma out to investigate the Tenshouin family's latest deeds.”

“Sakuma just returned from a mission though,” Yuuta saw Hinata frown, only remembering that once he told her.

“So did Shinobu, which means our main scouts are out…” Yuuta nodded, as Hinata sighed. “I can’t afford to move too close to the Tenshouin family, since at least Mister Tenshouin knows our face… different factions of our family are out or returning too… god…”

Yuuta hummed, before speaking up.

“We can assign Isara to do some digging into the underground news sources, see if he can find anything there.”

Hinata nodded, before pausing and shaking her head.

“No wait, Isara got injured a few days ago. We can let him dig into anything that doesn’t involve meeting in person, but he’d be unable to run so we can’t risk him getting hurt.”

Yuuta sighed, having forgotten that himself, as he looked over at Hinata again.

“So what’s the plan? We need to meet with someone to get that information, but we’re running out of people to send.”

Hinata let out a solemn hum, before pausing.

“Saegusa.”

Yuuta paused as well, looking over at Hinata and blinking.

“...seriously?”

“She’s scarily good at this and you know it!”

“Yeah she’s also just scary- ” Yuuta muttered, as Hinata rolled her eyes.

“She’ll get it done well.”

“You’re the one negotiating it with her, not me.”

“Fine fine!~” Hinata hummed, looking back out the window. She smiled softly, not letting herself worry too much over it right now.

It’d be fine.

-----

Shockingly, there wasn’t much to find, as Tenshouin was good at covering their tracks when it came to mess ups.

Ibara managed to get back to her that it seemed possible that Mister Tenshouin had gotten hurt at one, but she couldn’t figure out if it was truly Mister Tenshouin or another face.

So, Hinata had decided to let it slide, keeping her focus on normal mafia deals and transports, heists and all the like.

Currently, she was sitting in her office, spinning her dagger in her hand while reading over a paper, before pausing.

…It wasn’t often she heard that loud of a commotion from downstairs.

Did someone just want to spar and it got out of hand? No, no one was that stupid, not after they broke something and Shu nearly ripped their heads off.

It didn’t seem to be quieting down though, so with a groan she stood up, walking out of her office and locking the door behind her, before walking to the top of the staircase.

“What’s the cause of all this?” Hinata called out, before looking over the balcony and pausing, resting her arms on the railing and leaning forward a little.

Staring down, Hinata saw Tetora clutching his shoulder, Shinobu and Midori both beside him in a protective stance, before looking over to see a rather interesting predicament.

Rei and Natsume, both having drawn their weapon (Rei’s being a sword, whereas Natsume settled for a dagger). Not too surprising if there was an attack to be held, but the fact Natsume had a dagger at their throat, and Rei had a gun pointed to his head was where the problem lay.

Hinata met eyes with the cold blue of the attacker, seeing his expression soften.

“Miss Aoi, it truly is a pleasure to see you again after so long.”

In a beautifully tailored white suit, with a few gold accents in it, pairing well with very light yellow hair to the point blond felt like the wrong word.

He looked like an angel, if it wasn’t for the weapons he had pointed at the two in front of him.

Really, his appearance is part of the reason Hinata would never forget his name.

“Mister Tenshouin, there are easier ways to announce your presence and to see me.”

“In my defense, I didn’t mean to cause such a fuss,” He hummed, not moving since he did still have weapons both aimed at him, and threats on the two right in front of him. “I was hoping for just a civil conversation, although it seems some of your family had objections.”

“Mhm, was shooting Tetsu necessary?” Hinata narrowed her eyes, as Eichi did a little shrug.

“He came charging at me, I had to stop him.”

Hinata just sighed, looking down at Midori and Shinobu, who had been staying quiet this whole time.

“Go get him to Kiryu, if he isn’t there for some reason take him to Itsuki.”

Nodding, the other two quickly and carefully picked Tetora up, rushing off to follow her order.

Hinata then let out a sigh, pinching the bridge of her nose.

“Sakuma, Sakasaki, we’re more civilized than this…” The two finally looked away from Eichi, dropping the death glare and staring up at Hinata. Hinata realized how Eichi could’ve easily killed them in that moment, keeping her eyes locked on him, and appreciating that he didn’t.

This was likely to still be civilized, as Hinata doubted she could catch Eichi if he killed them and ran.

Walking down the stairs about half way, she continued her previous thought.

“If our uninvited guest would be so willing, you can all lower your weapons, and we can talk this out without blades at each other's neck?” The smile she wore was obviously a fake one, still showing the annoyance she felt, but slowly all three of them lowered their weapons.

Natsume and Rei both stepped back, flanking the bottom of the stairs as Hinata walked down the rest of the way.

“Apologies if I came at a time you were busy Miss Aoi,” Eichi hummed, offering a small bow once he had put his weapons away. Hinata just smiled, stepping forward and holding out her left hand.

“It’s fine, it’s not like there was that much progress being made, since I’m mostly waiting for my people to return,” Hinata smiled softly at how Eichi did take her hand, kissing the back of it.

A reminder, all be a simple one, of where their rankings stood.

“Now, what is it you want? If it’s going to take a while we can move up to my office.”

“It won’t take long at all, and even then I don’t think I trust your office anymore~” Eichi offered a small smirk, as Hinata just shrugged.

One too many recordings of Eichi as evidence to hold onto, and it made sense for his distrust.

“Cruel, but fair. Well, please tell me, what are you here for?”

“I had gotten your message for me, which is why I have to ask why you were looking into me?~”

“Simple, it’s unlike you to have a message for me specifically, but to use another face.”

“I had been out of town, that’s all.” Eichi smiled, as Hinata nodded. “But, I felt that you could use with hearing of it as soon as possible.”

“Mhm, I’m still a little lost on your riddles though…” Hinata’s expression shifted to a more annoyed one, as she hummed. “Although, I guess I can assume you’re not going to do what I think you meant by that, as you’re here right now.”

“Well, you’d be correct there,” Eichi gave Hinata a polite bow, before continuing. “I simply wanted to assure you that there was nothing suspicious going on with my family. If you have no further questions for me, I’ll be leaving.”

“No further questions Mister Tenshouin, stay safe.”

“You as well Miss Aoi,” He turned, walking to the door before pausing, looking back with a smile. “Oh, and dreadful accident that happened with that gang, I hope that pigs blood was washed off easily enough.”

Hinata just let out a bitter laugh, narrowing her eyes.

“Mhm, I’ll see you at the next party won’t I?”

“Of course, so long the circumstances allow us. Good luck Miss Aoi.”

With that, Eichi left the mansion, as Hinata let out a sigh of relief.

Natsume and Rei, who had been silent throughout the entire conversation, seemed pleased once he was gone, as Rei spoke up.

“So he’s aware of both of your faces?” Rei raised an eyebrow, as Hinata waved her hand dismissively.

“Yes yes, but the same goes in reverse, so that part of our playing field is even. Plus, it works better for him in the end if I stay on top.” Hinata started walking towards Kuro’s room, Rei and Natsume following behind her.

“I don’t like seeing that man.” Natsume muttered, as Rei let out a soft chuckle.

“Don’t we all? He might speak in more riddles than you or I.”

“Thank you peanut gallery, he’s still powerful and useful though, so hush.” Hinata muttered, as she walked up to the door.

Knocking gently, she heard Kuro call that she could come in, as she opened the door.

“Kiryu, good day.” Hinata hummed, as Kuro shrugged.

“Good as it can be, when ya send me people shot.”

Hinata shrugged, looking around the curtain to see Tetora sleeping, but seemingly patched up well.

“And will he recover fully?”

“Of course.” Kuro smirked, ruffling the sleeping Tetora’s hair, as Hinata’s expression shifted to a softer smile.

“Thank you Kiryu, I’ll leave him be then, keep up the good work.”

Turning on her heel, she walked out, Rei and Natsume just giving a nod to Kuro before following. Since they hadn’t yet been given orders, but hadn’t been dismissed, they chose to take on the role of following her as she kept wandering through the house.

Hinata knew most of the Aoi family knew the difference between her checking on people, and her running through a list in her head before being ready to give commands, so she knew that she would need them probably in a moment.

But next on her list was Shu, walking up the stairs and down a different hallway, knocking on the door.

“Itsuki,” She heard no response from the other woman, and let out a small tisk, before knocking a bit harder. “Itsuki your door might be reinforced to make it harder to kick open but believe me I know the angle I need.”

She heard a tisk from the other side, before the door opened.

“What do you need Miss Aoi, I’m very busy with a project you gave me.”

“I’m aware, we have a change of plans though. So, in case what I suspect is bound to happen, I need an edited meeting outfit.” Hinata smiled softly, as Shu paused, narrowing her eyes.

“Edited how?

“Edited so I can fit as many daggers and reloads on me as I can. Maybe a bomb or two if possible.”

“...I dread to know what you’re planning to do then, but fine. Tailored for your size?”

“Of course Itsuki, as soon as you can get it done, in return I assure you we’ll get you some of the finest fabrics.”

“You better.” Shu let out a small scoff, before she turned and shut her door behind her, as Hinata sighed.

That was the second thing off the list, so now she had a few last stops.

“Sakasaki, I need you to get to work on crafting me some more explosives. I’ll need at least 2 smoke bombs for safety, 1 fake bomb, and then as many regular ones as I can hold. I trust you’re up to the task?”

Hinata didn’t even have to look back to know Natsume understood, as she kept walking with one pair of footsteps trailing off, the other set still following her.

“Miss Aoi, do I want to know what outcome you’re planning for?” Rei spoke quietly, as Hinata let out a sigh.

“I’m planning on a family learning more information about me then I’m safe having anyone know.” Hinata looked up at Rei, offering a smile before continuing to walk. “Now, I need Isara to look into anyone who has a particular interest in taking me down, aside from the fact I’m on top. Be it families we’ve humiliated or almost fully taken down.”

Rei nodded, waiting to see if she had more to add, as Hinata did freeze in her tracks.

“Oh, make sure half the real bombs need to be detonated, as well as the fake one. Tell Sakasaki that for me.” Rei nodded, as Hinata took a deep breath. “And… I’ll make sure Tsukinaga is ready to keep the police out of this.”

“...You don’t want them involved?”

“Trust me, I love having extra bodies, but I’m really planning for the worst case, which means I can’t have anyone learning that information unless I know they’re loyal to me alone.” Hinata looked at Rei, a strangely serious glint in her eyes, as he nodded.

“I’ll go tell those two the information then.”

“Thank you.”

Rei walked off, as Hinata let out a heavy sigh, walking off.

This… could get messy.

-----

Hinata was very glad she trusted her gut instinct when given the riddle from Eichi.

And she also hated it, as she finished reading the letter and stabbed it with the dagger she kept on her desk, seeing Yuuta’s head shoot up at the sound.

“...Hinata?”

“Put the plan in motion.”

“...You were right?” Yuuta asked softly, as Hinata nodded.

“Mhm, and now I have to take down at least a room of assholes who think they have the right to test me like this, by myself.” Hinata scanned over the letter again, making sure she had all the information, before pulling the dagger and grabbing the white mask.

“By yourself? You can call on us you know-”

“Yes- I know Yuuta. And I will, once I know that she’s safe and with me, and you all can go wild murdering the rest of that family.”

Yuuta sighed, but nodded and walked out, as Hinata walked off to her room.

Grabbing the outfit Shu tailored for her, she looked it over, slipping in different daggers where she had sewn in openings, and slowly put on the outfit.

Lacing up the boots, she heard a knock on the door.

“You’re good to come in, I’m decent.” Hinata called out, as Rei opened the door.

“The explosives you requested?” He offered a small smile, as Hinata hummed.

Rei walked over to the bed where she sat, setting the bombs next to her before dropping to his knees. He continued lacing up her boots as she hid the bombs on her, before she let out a sigh.

“I’m glad Shu understood this was meant to have the coat.”

That was the one change in her outfit, instead of a looser white blouse, she wore a nice undershirt, along with a beautiful white tailcoat.

She knew it would get ruined with blood, but that’s why it was specially tailored for this occasion.

After all, she could fit many more bombs and daggers in that.

Rei only hummed in response, moving on to her other boot as he looked up at her.

“So, is it what we feared?”

“They’ve captured Tsukasa, and are threatening me with her, as well as taunting me by mentioning how they know she’s special to me.” Hinata muttered, finally tying the mask on her and looking down at herself, Rei finishing up with the boot.

“So?” He stood up, offering his hand as she took it, pulling herself up as well.

“So the plan will go as follows, I’ll take down that room, give you all the signal she’s safe, and you can rush the building and make sure that family regrets the moment they though to mess with me, before getting to meet their maker!~”

Hinata giggled softly, spinning as she looked in the mirror, before adjusting the ribbon around her neck.

Rei just hummed softly, as he opened the door for her.

“And if you take more than an hour?”

“If the one hour mark passes, you storm the building and follow Yuuta’s orders. Since if more than an hour passes I have been compromised or killed.” Hinata gave Rei a serious look, but he just nodded.

“Best of luck Miss Aoi.”

“Thank you, but I won’t need it.” Hinata gave a cocky smirk, before she walked out.

Walking through the house she could see everyone suiting up, rushing through the halls to grab whatever they needed, as she walked to the door calmly.

Yuuta met her there, smiling softly.

“Ready to murder this entire family?” Yuuta asked, as Hinata just giggled.

“Oh, you have no idea.

-----

Walking into the building, she did her best not to make a disgusted face as the different members acted like this was a normal meeting.

This wasn’t normal, she was just forced to put up that act, having silenced them the minute anyone tried talking to her.

Hinata knew her position, and wasn’t going to let them having one weakness make her act any differently.

She refused to talk to anyone except the head of their family, and refused to negotiate until their little hostage was shown to her.

Walking into the room, Hinata locked eyes with Tsukasa, who simply raised an eyebrow in response.

Tsukasa wasn’t stupid enough to react in any noticeable way when she saw Hinata, nor Hinata when she saw Tsukasa.

“I see you all have some brains, not hurting the hostage too badly.” Hinata hummed, leaning against the wall as she scanned the room.

Beside the boss standing next to her, there were about 8 other people in the room.

9 people she needed to take down, 1 person she needed to prevent from being hurt, and then herself.

I can work with that.

“Of course Miss Aoi, we wouldn’t want to hurt your precious chief of police after all~” The leader of this family almost purred, as Hinata looked over to him and raised an eyebrow.

“My precious? I’m not quite sure I get what you mean.” She wore a small smirk, as she noticed how multiple of the goons shot each other looks. They were confused, and sure as hell nervous.

“W-we know of your connection to her,” The boss spoke, his sputter giving away the confidence he should’ve been using with that sentence. Stepping forward, Hinata walked up to the chair Tsukasa was tied to, circling it a little.

“Connection? Please, we all know I don’t go after the police unnecessarily, sure…” Hinata giggled, tilting Tsukasa’s head up and looking down at her, before moving her hand and flicking her head. “But really, aside from the fact that I have the police in my pocket, a well known fact , there’s nothing more.”

Hinata could feel the way the power in the room had shifted, knowing she commanded the room now. The goons were scared, and the boss was sweating.

“Well-” The boss started, as Hinata looked over, tilting her head to the side. “So long we have her, the police will be in our pocket instead. We can have them come after you much more than they have been, and you’ll be ruined.”

The boss wore a smile, as the goons all seemed to go back to being cocky.

Until Hinata started laughing.

Hard.

She ended up placing a hand on the chair Tsukasa was on, laughing to the point of tears, before looking up at the boss with a cocky grin.

“You’re- you’re a funny one, you know?~” She barely got out through laughing, wiping away tears, before taking a deep breath and standing up straighter. “You think my hold on the police is that weak?”

“D-don’t try and bluff us!” The boss looked pissed, as Hinata just went back to the cocky smirk.

“Bluff you? Why would I?~” She tilted her head to the side, stepping onto the chair Tsukasa was on, making sure not to step on said girl, before brandishing two things.

A bomb and a detonator.

Dropping the bomb onto Tsukasa’s lap, Hinata held the detonator up in the air, before jumping back to a part of the room without any goons, having everyone’s eyes on the detonator.

“Ah!~ There’s that attention I’ve been looking for!~” Everyone from the rival family was on edge, as she smiled brightly. “One little press of this, and that chief of police goes boom!~ That takes all your bargaining power, and police control~”

“Y-you’re mad- ” The boss started, as she cut him off with another laugh.

“No, I’m smart. ” Hinata’s eyes shifted, as she had a much more dangerous glint. “There’s a reason I’m on top when it comes to the families, and you fucking idiots are the ones who decided to aim for the king.”

With a hum, before any of those men could process, she threw a bomb right in between two of the goons, sending it off and watching those two men go from terrified to charred corpses.

“I’d say take note, but you won’t be exiting this room, so maybe remember this for your next life. If you aim for the king, you best not miss. ”

Ducking under a dagger throne at her head as the goons went on the offencive, she laughed as she switched to hold the detonator in her left hand, pulling out a dagger of her own.

Well, not before also grabbing a smoke bomb and slamming that down on the ground as well.

And oh Hinata loved this deadly dance, decorating her white outfit with beautiful red as she easily brought men to their end, be it a crushed windpipe, a dagger in the neck or chest. All done while their precious sight was robbed from them, as she moved through the smoke with the only sign of where she was being soft giggles.

Breaking one of the guys' necks with her legs was also fun, as she threw a dagger across the room to end the last goon.

With a sigh, she walked over to the chair, fanning some of the smoke away to see Tsukasa.

“Let me get you out of these Chief Suou~” Hinata was about to move to undo the ropes, before crying out in pain as a bullet hit her hand.

Skidding across the floor went the detonator, as Hinata looked to make sure she hadn’t been pierced by the bullet.

(She hadn’t, thank god, since that wouldn’t be easy to get taken care of…)

She had forgotten about the boss, as her head snapped over to the man who grabbed the detonator.

The boss smirked, as he spoke up.

“I love seeing someone’s tricks backfire…”

The man pressed the button with a laugh, before pausing the minute… nothing happened.

Hinata stared at him with a smile, before humming.

“Oh, right. Prank bomb, filled with nothing but good old oxygen, thanks for that!~” The boss's eyes widened in panic, as she threw a dagger, catching on his outfit and pinning him to the wall. She pulled another dagger, humming as she approached him.

“M-Miss Aoi we can-”

“We can what ? I’m not interested in whatever you have to offer, and I’d rather die than have you as a part of my family.” She smiled softly, pulling out a different detonator. “This little thing right here? Once I press this, my family is going to come in here, and we’ll be walking out with bright smiles and your family's blood on us. And you know what? You could’ve avoided this all…~”

“W-what-”

Hinata giggled, pressing the detonator and hearing the explosion, knowing what chaos was going to be unleashed. Leaning closer to the boss, she pressed the dagger to his throat, with a sadistic glint in her eyes.

“I’m gonna tell you a secret, one that you’ll never get to tell since you’re so so stupid, ” She laughed, looking to make sure the camera in the room was destroyed.

It was.

“You’d gotten it right, and if you hadn’t tried to go for Tsukasa, you could’ve gotten much further with trying to exploit me…~” The man froze, eyes widening, as Hinata giggled. “But~ I don’t like people kidnapping my wife. So you’ll have to die for this. Better luck next time.”

The boss might’ve tried to say something, but Hinata didn’t really care, stabbing the dagger through his throat and backing away.

“Sorry Kasa, take two on getting you out of those!” Hinata turned around, pulling another dagger, and cutting the ropes that tied Tsukasa, before taking the gag out from Tsukasa’s mouth.

“...How many daggers do you have- ” Tsukasa decided to start with, as Hinata giggled.

“Do you really want to know?~”

“...Probably not. Who all is in the building right now?” Tsukasa tilted her head, as Hinata hummed, cupping her face.

“My family, the goons who are dying, and you and me. We kept the cops away from this one.” Tsukasa, shockingly, leaned into the hands on her cheek, even if they were gloved and a little bloody.

“And should I be afraid of any other bombs hidden on you?”

“Hm? Uh, I think I used all the bombs I had, minus maybe a smoke bomb. Why do you-”

Hinata was cut off by Tsukasa pulling her into a kiss, easily melting into it. Even if Tsukasa had been the helpless captive moments earlier, Hinata wasn’t going to forget the power she had over her, as Hinata’s back met the wall.

There were worse ways to be pinned, and Hinata was fairly content with this one.

Even if it left her breathless, as Tsukasa moved to press a few kisses to her neck, earning a soft hum from the mafia boss.

“K-kasa, I still have to fully rescue you-”

“Mhm,” Tsukasa hummed against her skin, undoing the ribbon from her neck to open her collar a little more, and pressing more kisses there. “Can’t I thank you a little though?~”

Hinata just rolled her eyes, allowing Tsukasa to leave a few more kisses and marks (ok the marks weren’t really planned, but Hinata wasn’t complaining too much-), before finally having her move back.

“Alright alright- let’s get you out of here-” Hinata muttered, as Tsukasa sighed and moved back.

Hinata redid her collar, before sighing and kissing Tsukasa’s nose.

“I’ll see you at home?”

“Of course, see you then Hina…” Tsukasa hummed, before whispering. “Oh, and thank you Miss Aoi~

Hinata just rolled her eyes, before replying.

“No problem Chief Suou~

-----

Hinata had only walked with Tsukasa so far, before letting her run out of the building as she went to check on the rest of her family.

They were doing just fine, as she could see, watching the goons fall all around their home.

She doubted the police would investigate the Aoi family too much for this one.

Waiting by the door, she was treated to the sight of her brother flipping over one of the railings in the house, having pulled another man off with him, and landing it perfectly.

On the other man's throat, sure, but a perfect landing in Hinata and Yuuta’s books.

She clapped softly, seeing Yuuta look up with a small smirk.

“Not helping out with the cleanup Miss Aoi?~”

“Oh please~ I’ve done more than my fair share of work! Tell everyone to stop playing with their food and hurry up so we can loot them for everything they’ve got and get out!~”

Yuuta nodded, turning and shooting another man in the head before starting to pass out orders.

Hinata didn’t have to wait too much longer before she was met with the faces of her wonderful family, most covered in blood but none seeming to be their own.

“And… that’s everyone!~” Hinata hummed, clapping her hands together. “Well, since we all deserve a little fun…~”

Everyone’s heads perked up at that, as Hinata giggled softly.

“10 minutes to take anything you find in the house, anything you can grab you can keep! Time starts…~” Hinata pulled out a pocket watch, something she’d always kept on her, before starting it. “Now!”

It was very amusing, watching the rest of her family split up in the rival families hideout, racing off in different directions to try and find the most valuable items there.

Yuuta was the only one who stayed by her, raising an eyebrow at her.

“You’ve already checked for the highest valued items, haven't you.”

Hinata simply shrugged in response, and spun in a circle.

To anyone else, it would’ve been a way to prove innocence, but to the twins it was Hinata reminding Yuuta just how many hidden pockets she had, as he rolled his eyes.

“So long you split some with me, I’ll keep silent.” Yuuta hummed, as Hinata giggled, lightly elbowing him.

“You know I will~ you’re my second in command for a reason you know!” Yuuta playfully elbowed her back, smiling a little though.

“Really?~ I thought it was just because it was easier to have a body double!~”

“I would never!~” Hinata let out a fake offended gasp, before the two of them both started laughing, as Hinata leaned against her brother. “Seriously though, you know that’s not the case. We’re a duo. Just because I have the charisma and charm to be the boss, that doesn’t mean I don’t need you.”

Yuuta ruffled her hair, shifting to a softer expression, though still wearing a teasing smile.

“I thought you said you’d be the boss since you’re “older” or whatever~” Hinata rolled her eyes, but smiled as Yuuta pulled her into a side hug.

Hinata was often the one who initiated any affection between her and her brother, so she’d always be happy when he’d make the first move.

“Yeah yeah, still, don’t undermine yourself Yuuta. We’re both the brains here. I couldn’t do half as much as I have without your ideas.” Yuuta let out a small laugh, patting her head.

“And I couldn’t do half my ideas without the charm you seem to bring to every appearance as Miss Aoi.”

“You flatter me!~ Still though, Mister Aoi is much better for some negotiations~”

“You mean the people who don’t enjoy your regular performance?~”

“Yes yes…” Hinata rolled her eyes, checking the watch again with a hum.

The two of them stepped apart, as Yuuta shot her one more glance.

“Did one of them get ahold of your collar Miss Aoi?~” Yuuta shifted back to a teasing grin, as Hinata paused.

“No? Why do you ask..?”

“Hm, it looks a bit messed up is all, and your ribbon is a little off center.”

Hinata’s face instantly went red as Yuuta laughed, despite Hinata kicking at his legs.

Yuuta just grabbed her shoulders, helping her fix it as she pouted at him, before he messed her hair up again.

“Never mind! I take it all back!” Hinata huffed, as Yuuta tilted his head to the side. “You’re the worst and I hate you!”

Yuuta started laughing again, as she crossed her arms, glaring at him only halfheartedly.

Really, she did have a pretty great family.

-----

In the end, Hinata still loved these moments the most, when she found herself cuddled into her wife’s side.

Tsukasa was pressing a few kisses to her head, as Hinata was reading through a file.

A report from a transport mission, that had gone well thankfully, and something she was frankly not interested in.

Tossing it onto the bedside table, she turned and nuzzled into Tsukasa, who hummed softly and wrapped her arms around Hinata in response.

“Are you done with work for the day?” Tsukasa’s voice was soft, as Hinata nodded and cuddled a little closer to Tsukasa, pressing a small kiss to her neck.

“Mhm, I’m done with thinking…” Her voice was a little muffled since she was still hiding her face in Tsukasa, but she didn’t seem to mind.

Tsukasa moved to play with Hinata’s hair, humming softly.

“What’s the plan for the night then?”

“Cuddling with you?”

Tsukasa laughed softly, pulling her a little closer as Hinata smiled.

“That works with me, thank you for the rescue earlier…” Tsukasa’s voice was quiet, as Hinata nodded.

“Of course, they didn’t hurt you too badly, right?”

“They didn’t, they mostly just made empty threats.” Hinata hummed softly, looking up to kiss Tsukasa quickly.

“Good. I’m glad you’re safe Kasa.”

“I’m glad you are too, I’d hate for you to lose everything you’ve built because of me…”

“...I’ll never let that be the case Kasa,” Hinata cupped Tsukasa’s face, noticing any of the anxiety lingering in her eyes melt away, as Hinata smiled softly. “I love you, and while we probably live a very unorthodox life, I wouldn’t want to spend it any other way. I married you for a reason, after all~”

Tsukasa nodded, leaning forward and stealing a soft kiss from Hinata, as Hinata easily returned it, pulling Tsukasa a little closer.

It wasn’t nearly as rushed or needy as earlier ones, just soft and full of love.

Pulling back, Tsukasa smiled as she kept their foreheads together, nuzzling their noses to make Hinata laugh.

“I love you Hina~”

Hinata couldn’t even try to stop the loving expression that she wore, nor would she ever want to.

“I love you too Kasa…”

Hinata loved moments like this, where she wasn’t Miss Aoi or Mrs. Suou, and Tsukasa wasn’t Chief Suou or Mrs. Aoi…

The moments when it was just the two of them.

Hinata and Tsukasa.

Two very different backgrounds, but no matter what the circumstances were, sworn to stay together.

Hinata and Tsukasa swore to follow those words they recited at their wedding, after all.

Till death do us part.
