Work Text:

“One special coffee for my most special-est customer!” An sing songs as she hands Toya his regular coffee that he usually orders from WEEKEND GARAGE. She leans down to peck him on the cheek.

“I thought I was your most special customer.” Akito jokes from his spot in the booth, pretending to be offended.

“No, that was last week, Akito.”

“I think Aoyagi-Kun has boyfriend privileges.” Kohane points out, matter of factly.

“That would be correct!” An laughs, flicking her hair behind her shoulder. “Toya is just a special-er customer, no offense to you guys.” They know she’s joking around. Hopefully, anyways.

“No offense taken.” Kohane smiles.

“Offense taken.” Akito deadpans. He nudges Toya, “Thoughts?”

Toya doesn't hesitate. “I think An looks good in her work outfit.”

Akito’s face scrunches up in disgust, Kohane goes “awwwhhh!!!”, and An’s face goes completely red.

“W-where’d that come from!?”

Toya is very blunt, An has recently discovered. Everything he says is laced with gratitude and total honesty, and it doesn't look like he holds back when expressing his affections towards her, a big improvement from when the two of them first started dating. It makes her feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

“I wish we had more time for just you and I…” She tells him on the way to practice. They’re walking close to each other, arms touching. “It feels like we only hang out at practice. I wanna see you more.” She interlocks her arm with his, leaning onto him.

“Do you want to go on a date, An?” He asks.

An loves the way her name sounds when Toya says it. It sounds even better when you take into account just how long it took for her to finally get him to call her by her first name.

“YES!—ahem, yes.” She composes herself. She can’t help how excited she gets about things like this. Though, she’s scared that she might be coming off as a hassle, so she adds “Where do you wanna go?”

“You pick.”

“Uh, um… I’m too Indecisive for things like this! There’s too many good places…”

“I’m fine with anything as long as it’s with you.” He says simply. His voice flows smoothly.

She feels the heat rush up to her cheeks. “ Shit , Toya you’ve gotta stop with all of this flirting today or else I’ll combust! I’m supposed to be the flirty one here! ”

“I just say what’s on my mind.” Is all he replies, a smirk already forming on his stupidly pretty face.

They ended up settling for a home date at An’s place, so that’s how they ended up on the couch snuggled up in blankets while watching a cheesy rom-com. She wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Resting her head on his shoulder, her eyes begin to feel heavy. That is until Toya kisses her on the forehead and her eyes shoot open like she’s been stabbed. He responds with another kiss, but this time it’s on the lips.

She reaches out for him, running her hand down his jawline, simply admiring this guy she has the pleasure of calling her boyfriend.

“I love you.” He says.

“Toya… I—’

“Shhhh.” Her heart flutters. Another kiss.

“You—”

Before she knows it, she’s being drowned in kisses. She’s not complaining, but for some reason tears start falling from her eyes.

“Uh, sorry. You know me, crying because I’m being kissed by my boyfriend. Normal me stuff.” Is all she can let out. Oh god, when was the last time she cried in front of Toya? Probably months ago when one of Vivid Street’s stray cats randomly disappeared (the two of them had been taking care of it together weeks prior).

“I’m sorry… was that too much?”

“No! No! Toya that was—I dunno, sometimes I feel like such a burden… and you being so affectionate just made me—It made me really happy y’know?” She’s always been used to bombarding him with her affections, she kind of felt caught off guard today, especially since Toya hardly ever flirts back. Sometimes, she feels like she doesn't deserve to be dating him, but she keeps that thought to herself.

He wipes away her tears with his thumb. His touch is gentle, it’s as if he’s touching the most delicate object in the world. “You’re not a burden.” He reassures her. “You’re so full of color, you’re so bright… that’s what I love about you.”

She takes a moment to digest this before saying. “You’re so honest all the time that I can’t help but believe you.” She drapes her arms around his neck. “So, you better not be lying, okay?”

“I wouldn’t lie to you.”

That’s enough for An. How could she not believe someone as straightforward as Toya?
