Chapter Text
A monarch is a head of state for life or until abdication, and therefore the head of state of a monarchy. A monarch may exercise the highest authority and power in the state, or others may wield that power on behalf of the monarch. Usually a monarch either personally inherits the lawful right to exercise the state's sovereign rights (often referred to as the throne or the crown ) or is selected by an established process from a family or cohort eligible to provide the nation's monarch. Alternatively, an individual may proclaim themself monarch, which may be backed and legitimated through acclamation, right of conquest, or a combination of means.
Monarch butterflies have nothing to do with monarchs that's for sure. But those insects always had something that reminded her of her own life. The only thing that made those butterflies stand out might be the fact that they are poisonous. Not enough to harm humans on earth, but in the universe where she herself wasn't just a human anymore, this cyanide that they had would bring men to their knees.
Earthlings weren't poisonous so that didn't remind her of herself. The fact that those beautiful things often chose to fly 4,345 kilometers to breed. And never return to their birthplace. Why they did do it on the journey to the unknown? She didn't remember. She herself liked to think it was for hope of a better future.
But the reason she kept one as her symbol? The meaning they held for leadership and excellence when it comes to money and career matters it was one of the tales captured in the wings of the creature. It was a tragedy that she happened to forget the other meanings they held.
She left her sheltered home for a Mandalorian a warrior of fiction. Knowing that she would never return home. A one-way voyage. She had a secure job as a governess or so she liked to think. She stumbled on him on one of her hunting trips.
Her dogs Kamu and Rakki were going crazy. Karelian bear hound doesn't feel any fear towards anything or at least they don't show it. The barking had that edge. The edge that told of the utter terror of the hounds. Their terror became hers.
It must be a bear, a big one.
She clicked the safety off before sprinting in the direction of the sounds. She knew that she shouldn't do it like that, but the closest thing to her was her dogs. Her children.
I shouldn't have let them wander so far.
The twigs snapped under her heavy boots.
Please god, don't let anything happen to them!
The adrenaline raised her blood pressure to roar in her ears.
A yelp could be heard and she saw red.
"OI!" She roared. As she burst through the willow bush to see what her hounds were barking at. And what she saw was like straight from a movie.
A blue armored was threatening her dogs with a vibrating dildo and a weird-looking gun. Was he lost or something? She couldn't remember any cons being kept in this rural area. Was he filming a youtube video?
Kapo snapped at his feet and got a swipe of the vibrating silver dildo. "Kamu NO? Jätä se! Hyi poika hyi!"(Kamu well? Leave it! Shame boy shame!) She commanded Kamu, who jumped a half meter in the air. Clearly spooked by her. Rakki being the wiser one reacted to Kamu's retribution and slinked to her legs. Fur still bristled and growling vigorously.
"Mitä teille tuli?"(What has gotten into you?) She questioned them.
Her dogs hadn't ever been one to attack humans only threaded them with barks and jumps. Snappin' the safety back she slung the rifle back to her back. Before gripping them by the collar.
"Kävikö kuinkaan?"(Did anything happen?) She asked the stranger.
She didn't look at him, more focused on the black and white of the coats of her dogs. Rakki glanced at her. There was blood on her snout. Bleeding from a hairless slit on her nose.
The stranger had hurt her dog. She saw red.
"Perkeleen friikki! Miten vitussa sä kehtaat tulla mun maille ja piestä mun koirat?" (Perkeless freak! How do you dare to come in my lands and beat my dogs?) She fuumed ready to give the man same treament he gave her dogs.
The freak raised his gun at her, but there was clear confusion in his stance. He didn't react to her yelling. "Umm speak basic?" The distorted voice asked her angering her even further.
Tourists. Kamu lunged against his collar.
"Yes I speak English, and I asked how you dare to come to my land and hurt my dogs!" She said while sizzling with anger. Not yelling anymore but hissing between her teeth.
"That happened to be the reason why I didn't shoot them at sight." He hissed back at her. "And why I am here? Well, my ship crashed and requires repairs."
Oh hell Nah. A ship on land means that this person might be high. Like he was clearly lost in more ways than one.
"Your ship?" She asked sarcastically "There are no waters like that for hundreds of kilometers."
"Yes, my space ship." The lunatic said like it was obvious.
"Haha. You gotta be kidding me."
Paz Vizsla's vision was overridden with strange orange butterflies. There were banners, paintings, murals, jewelry, and clothing decorated with them. The black lines decorated the wings of the insect. He hadn't seen a creature like that before and knew they weren't here when he last visited decades ago.
The young human man drove the speeder to their destination. He was tense and didn't want to draw this much attention to the once imperial-controlled city. But he didn't have a choice his tribesmen were injured. The medical treatment he sought for them led to this. The medics were eager to treat them, but the moment they were treated they were informed of the move.
They wanted to move them to the Perho-palace. It was an imperial build, but it had been modified to a point of almost no recognition. He took a deep breath the exhaustion of the Nevarro fight and the tress for his covert was getting to him or those who were left of them.
He had hoped he could have hidden the children on his ship. Or well in the permanently borrowed ship. Manda wasn't on his side when a thunderous Wookie demanded them to go to the Perho-palace the moment he caught the scent of those children. So, they went.
The oldest child of the punch put his hand to his pauldron and gave him a nod. He wasn't fully grown yet he only had leather armor on him, but he was still trying to assure Paz of his readiness to face whatever was waiting for them. Paz gave him a nod back and glanced at what he had left.
Five younglings and six warriors if he wasn't counted. Many of them are in critical state chest plates off and hooked on the machines attached to the floating cots.
Paz didn't want to admit it but he was kriffing scared, but not for himself. He was still conscious he could move and defend himself they couldn't. Their life, their future, and their creed were in his hands. His gloved, calloused, and bloody hands.
Paz had guarded his brethren over the treatment, but now he might have to leave them to handle the monarch of Perho-palace. When the medics forced their treatment on them they told him that it was from the monarch of Perho.
They had switched the planet's name to Perho... For their new monarch. Paz was scared of who could make, so big waves in sucks a short time.
"Sir? We are here." The boy informed over his shoulder. Exhaling he rose. "Nobody touches their armor got them in that way or right?" Paz asked the foundling.
He gave him a mock salute "Elek alor!"(Yes, leader!) Viszla clapped him on the shoulder before exiting the vehicle.
Whatever they had made to this place was amazing. The place had gained windows whit iron blinds. Double gates and two extra wings. The walls had those butterflies painted on light blue walls. White edges highlight the magnificent Perho-palace. Guards wearing old, black and white painted stormtrooper armor ushered them in. Two beasts with black and white fur and gleaming eyes watched them at their pedestrian on both sides of the gate.
He didn't give any more glances to his people. he had to give his all to deal with this monarch of planet Perho.
The Mandalorian was led down on the lower and lower. He was almost sure this was going to be an ambush, but then the darkness gave way to light.
Doors opened to a vide hall with pillars a new addition must likely. The guards didn't give a verbal warning to their leader. They didn't need to. The moment they stepped into the room. A giant storm of those butterflies flies up from the pillars. It reminded him of living wildfire.
"What do you want?" Asked the distorted woman's voice.
Paz didn't answer that for the voice and the mystical moment reminded him of the armorer. Fire switched for butterflies. The hum of the forge for the flapping of wings and running of water.
"You wanted us here," Paz stated when the storm started to settle back to every surface of the room.
Plants of many kinds were sitting on their movable pots between the pillars barely noticeable due to the cover of wings. On the left side of the hall went a lazy stream of water. Could have been barely called stream so low it was.
"Yes, ill help when I can. But why did you come to this planet." The voice called boredly.
"We were chased off our own." Paz grumbled to her "By the empire."
"Is that so? Let me guess. Now you want me to help you take it back. Do you want weapons, ships, supplies, and lives? Am I correct?" The voice was now impatient.
"What? No, I just want my people to be safe!" He growled at her.
Bang! A fist hit a wood.
The butterflies flew off the person who they were hiding.
Paz Viszla was floored for in the back of the hall behind a wooden desk stood another Mandalorian.
She was wearing an ill-fitted man's armor painted the same blue as the walls. On her left breastplate was she carried the same butterfly he had gotten familiar with.
"Haha! So, you want that! Well too bad for you I am not yielding on my decision!" She roared. The rest of the butterflies fled from her.
Paz didn't know what to say to her. He just swallowed nothing had prepared him to face a mad Mandalorian monarch.
