Work Text:

Jimmy clambered out of his sister’s old truck, riding in the very cramped backseat because a certain somebody refused to let him be shotgun, and onto the pavement in front of the school.

“Bye Jimmy! Have a nice day sweetie,” Lizzie said as he waited for Joel, his friend and Lizzie’s boyfriend, to get out as well.

“Alright, goodbye Lizzie,” the brunet said, planting a small kiss on her cheek. Jimmy gagged at the small show of affection.

“Now Tim, don’t be a jerk about it,” Grian said from behind, just arriving after hitching a ride from his friend Mumbo, “someday you may find someone you care for, who knows.”

“That’s bullshit,” Joel snorted as Lizzie drove away to park, “we both know he’s gonna die single.”

“Hey, speaking of single, isn’t that Scar right there,” Jimmy said, pointing at the brunet who was laughing with Cleo and Bdubs, “didn’t you two break up-“

He was cut off by Grian punching him in the arm, the smaller hiding behind him.

“Aww, you scared of him?”

“Shut up.”

“HEY SCAR, HOW ARE YOU DOING?”

“JOEL-“

Jimmy laughed at them as they argued, and as a very confused Scar looked their way. Suddenly, a familiar voice caught his attention. It was Scott, talking to Martyn, his friend and bodyguard of the month.

“Yeah, I don’t see how that’s gonna work out.”

“Cmon, but it’d be so funny!”

“Martyn, I’m pretty sure stealing Grian from the library while he sleeps is a terrible idea. There are better people to steal.”

“It’d be epic though! Besides, who else takes a nap in the library during lunch every single Tuesday! It’ll be great.”

“Why do I listen to you,” the cyanette sighed. He was wearing a white shirt with a blue vest over it, a pink pleated skirt, knee high socks with converse, his signature shell earrings, barrette, and bracelet. His eyeshadow was pink, and the faint glint of gloss was on his lips. That reminded Jimmy that he was staring at Scott’s lips. The shorter then noticed and whispered something to Martyn, both giggling. To Jimmy’s embarrassment and horror, Scott sauntered over to him, Joel and Grian still arguing in the background.

“H-hey uh Scott!”

Shit. Jimmy’s face was probably bright red, and his voice went so high, if he had gone just a smidge higher, only dogs and bats could hear it.

“Like what you see?” Scott asked, smirking as he slowly stepped closer. Jimmy then realized he was trapped, if he went back any further, he’d pretty much knock over Grian, and any further forward he’d be too close to Scott.

“Uhhhhhhh-“

“How about you meet me under the bleachers at lunch. See what you can really do.”

Before going off, Scott crept closer to his face, Jimmy closing his eyes. To his dismay, Scott simply smirked and tapped him on the lips.

“My, aren’t we eager today?”

He sauntered off, giggling with Martyn as they walked over to BigB and Pearl to probably tell them about the whole ordeal.

“OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-“

Jimmy cringed as he turned around to see Joel and Grian staring at him with huge grins on their faces.

“Looks like somebody has a-“

“Grian, if you say one more fucking word I will not hesitate to punt you.”

The other was about to open his mouth when the shrill ring of the bell cut him off. Jimmy rolled his eyes and quickly walked to his first period class. After he sat down, Joel, who unfortunately sat right behind him, leaned over his desk.

“Scott’s looking at you,” he whispered. Jimmy nodded and looked around the class, noticing the cyanette staring at him with a smirk on his face. Upon Jimmy looking at him, he giggled and leaned back in his chair to whisper something to Martyn, both of them smiling at it. His curiosity was cut short when the teacher arrived, setting her tote bag on the floor and dropping her heavy book on the desk.

“Alright class, school has started, so I suggest you all end your conversations,” she said, looking at Scott and Martyn who were still whispering.

All of his classes went by fast, and Jimmy’s mind wasn’t there at all. He got smacked in the back of the head by Joel and Grian a few times, as well as Tango, his partner in chemistry, asking if he was alright. Jimmy was, but he couldn’t focus on class at all.

Then, the bell rang for lunch. Instead of sitting at the Bad Boys table, Jimmy went under the bleachers immediately, he wasn’t feeling hungry anyway. Lizzie would probably yell at him for skipping lunch again, but that probably wouldn’t matter. He pulled out a cigarette from his pocket and a lighter from the other, lighting it, and breathing in the smoke. Breathing the smoke out, he readjusted his sunglasses to be on top of his head, there wasn’t much light beneath the bleachers anyway.

After a few minutes, light footsteps sounded on the grass. He looked up to see Scott ducking underneath the opening to join him.

“I see you didn’t chicken out.”

“I’m a bad boy, I don’t chicken out.”

“How you acted earlier says the opposite, you know.”

“Hey! Also, why did you want to meet me here?”

“I’m not sure. You seemed interested in me, and I don’t think the so-called Bad Boys would approve.”

“Please,” Jimmy snorted, “Grian’s standards are so low they’re basically down in hell. After their breakup, Scar became over-reliant on his mom, and is basically in need of constant attention.”

“Aww sounds like you.”

“Wha-excuse me!-“

“Well,” Scott said, putting on his signature flirty smirk, “you’re cute…and you need attention constantly.”

“Wha-eh-HEY! That’s not very nice!”

“For a Bad Boy, you’re getting soft.”

“Uh I am NOT! I am a very Bad Boy, thank you very much,” he said, flushing a bit, before taking a breath and returning to his cooler demeanor.

“Aww, admit it.”

“Never,” Jimmy said, taking another draw of his cigarette, breathing it out through his teeth as he flashed Scott a smirk.

“Ohhh we’re getting brave now.”

Suddenly, Scott pulled Jimmy into a kiss. It was light, but not too light as to just whisper Jimmy’s lips. Jimmy closed his eyes and felt the way the other’s lips felt against his, they were soft but sticky because of lip gloss he had put on earlier. Scott cupped Jimmy’s face into his hands and deepened the kiss, and Jimmy could have sworn he felt like he was flying, as he peppered kisses all along his face and lips.

Then there was giggling and a snap of a camera. Scott quickly drew back, and Jimmy opened his eyes to see the rest of the Bad Boys, along with both the Clockers and the Nosy Neighbors. Lizzie stood next to Joel, a look of shock on her normally calm and happy face. Joel sniggered, camera in hand and Grian gave him a sympathetic look, the rest a mix of shock and giggling.

“WHA-JIMMY! YOU COULD’VE DONE SO MUCH BETTER!”

“Don’t worry about it Lizzie, I think somebody owes me 20 bucks!”

“Okay, to be fair I didn’t think it would happen,” BigB said, handing Joel two ten dollar bills.

“WHA-YOU GUYS HAD A BET ON THIS-“

“Relax Timmy, it’s only been happening for the past…five months I think?”

“FIVE MONTH-“

“Speaking of the bet,” Cleo added, “I think a certain somebody owes me five bucks as well. I’m off to see Etho, don’t burn anything while I’m gone.”

“No promises,” Scar replied with as the redhead walked off.

Jimmy turned to look at Scott, only to find he had gone away. He likely went out the other end of the bleachers, or managed to get out onto the top of them.

He sighed.

This certainly would end…interestingly.
