Chapter 1: Just in case.

Chapter Text

Would he really do this?

Satoru sighed in reluctance as he prepared to face the big shots, he was about to risk the head on a whim.

The morning is peaceful and the corrupt elders wait for the news from the teacher.

The white-haired man holds his breath for a moment before entering the room, the sorcerers are silent under a unanimous look.

—Did I make you wait too long?" I'm sorry, I'm terrible at schedules and even more so with notes.— Satoru spoke, placing himself in the middle

—Your false courteous words are nothing more than the reflection of your hidden interests, speak up, what do you want?— commented one of them

—I've been good and obedient, I deserve an award... I want Yuuji Itadori's immunity.— The man exclaimed, wanting to bite his tongue

—Immunity?— an old man laughed —He is an accused of the Headquarters, if he has not been executed yet it is because we do not know how to kill Ryoumen Sukuna, you have no right to...—

—Wait a moment, please— another one of them interrupted. —Why would you ask for something like that? You are a disgrace to the Gojo family, you are not welcome among curses and sorcerers despise you, we did well to punish your clan. Are you trying to rebel against humanity? Perhaps you found a common interest with the curse that boy carries, I see you have interests in crowning yourself as supreme sorcerer next to Sukuna.— the older man accused him

—I haven't forgotten the way you treated my family, don't worry, one day I'll skin you all in this very room— warned the youngest with a macabre smile —There's no point in arguing, gentlemen, the truth is...—

—That you grow strong along with others, wretched boy, isn't the suffering of the Gojo's enough for you? Do you want your allies to carry your faults?—

—If there was a simple solution I would have taken it long ago— Satoru murmurs in disgust. —What I want to protect is...— he almost finished saying before the doors opened.

—Sorry, I think I'm late to the party.— spoke a voice well known to the sorcerer.

—Ryoumen Sukuna! Sacrilege! Perfidy!— shouted one of the old men

—How much you can crow? Cowardly old men hiding behind the paper, if only the security was more severe I would not have entered.— The curse demanded, beating his fist to make a little fresh blood splash on the floor

The guards lay dead on the ground with their stomachs punctured.

—What are you doing here?— the consort whispered.

—Calm down, let's talk a little.— The demon smiled wide, walking in circles

—What do you want?—

—I don't give a damn about humanity, the other curses could be extinguished but I wouldn't be interested, in this absurd world I take pleasure in chaos, bloodshed, despair in the eyes. Now, there is only one reason why the pillars of civilization have not yet lost, call him Satoru Gojo.— The dark king referred, placing an arm around the aforementioned back.

—You say he's the only one who can control you?— asked one of the big shots.

—For now let's say yes, which brings me to the following deal: if you promise the protection of Itadori's drone and of this man, I will remain submissive to the order of sorcery.—

—What a huge mouth to say you'll stay submissive.—

—No? Don't you agree to a deal with a curse that could kill you all right now?—

The walls began to turn to red-stained concrete and the floor to liquid black. The heat was stifling, the pressure in the blood bubbled with despair.

—I hate the weak who are crowned in places that do not belong to them, accept my terms or die.— Sukuna observed the grandeur of the place, it would be so easy to sink it deep into his temple

—Aright! We will not kill the Itadori boy for now.— exclaimed someone

—Perfect, with the brat safe, we're all safe.—The curse smiled.

—Although we will not try to kill him, we cannot guarantee that other sorcerers or curses will try.—

—There is no path without a couple of stones, I wonder who would dare to look for me and exorcise me?— Sukuna laughed as the dark bones of beasts emerged from the black ground

—If you do, you would leave sorcery without a law.— one of them repudiated

—Sorcery needs fewer laws, in this rotten world the only law you need is to be strong. I leave.— With a capricious flick of fingers, Sukuna left as he arrived.

—You deserve execution for allying yourself with the greatest enemy of sorcery, you are using yourself for a power that you do not know, you are a traitor.—

—Maybe I am— Gojo sighed, bending his neck —At least I don't send the young people to die, I'm trying but...— there was no point in arguing, the maneuvers were done —You also play dirty, I hope you go to the hell all together at once.— He ended up saying as a greeting

Of course there was only one place he could go.

Jumping on the futon was a matter of necessity, the apparent darkness of the main room caused lethargy.

Satoru snorted, throwing bandage, jacket, and shoes alike into a corner. He had humiliated himself in front of the elders and if the king of curses had not arrived on time who knows what immoral deal he would have made with the council.

Opening the sliding door, Sukuna's image prostrated itself against the wall.

—You feel guilty for denigrating yourself with the old ones? Lucky you have me by your side.—

—I'm disgusted right now, I wanted to believe that being who I am is enough but I can't protect anyone being Satoru.— The human spoke languidly

—Leave the tears for the children, as long as you have my favor no one will be able to touch you. You could have asked me for help but you ran away believing that if you blink an eye they will listen to you, humans are like beasts, if you don't educate them they will continue to harass you— Gojo did not contradict his words, on the contrary he remained silent with a deep internal wound. —I can't stand seeing you like this, tell me what I have to do to erase that face.— he asked knowing, lying down next to

—At first I thought if I bribed you with the fingers you'd take care of Yuuji, then I thought it was a caprice but now I know, we're both cursed.— the mortal commented

—You think so?— Sukuna smiled —There is supposed to be no sorcerer in this world who can bend me, you are born and you control me with a kiss, I would call it bad luck but there is no part of you I don't want. I don't just want you to see me as an ally, give me your heart, Satoru...— whispered the curse in his consort's ear

—Don't you hate me knowing that I wanted to use you?—

A vivid expression of euphoria spread over Ryoumen.

—I love every piece of you, whether you used me or not no longer matters. Tell me and you will have me chained to you forever.— gasped the millennium taking Gojo's chin

—My heart is yours, do what you want with it.— Satoru murmured.

—Let's share the burdens from today, my love.—

One kiss was enough to carry that small black drop inside the human without him noticing.

—Is this the end of the world? I remember an old scroll told the ridiculous story about a god loving a demon and how their passion would destroy the world of mortals.— the white-haired man spoke softly, untying the belt of Sukuna's kimono

—What do you want to be? The merciful god?— Sukuna doubted, feeling his lover's hand caressing his abdomen.

—It was never my intention to be anyone's god, I just want to save the ones I love.—

—The past turns to ashes, leave everything that worries you aside.— Sukuna barely caressed Satoru's features ending with a kiss on his forehead.

—Do you really want to have a child?— asked the youngest

—I thought it would be easy to convince you but you don't seem to understand, I'm the only one in this mediocre age who could love you. You are not ready to have a child.— The king left his side, rising heavily, leaving the sliding door open.

—Wait, I...— Gojo stammered following behind him.

—The most powerful sorcerer of this century behaves childish and immature, despite being a prince consort you don't learn. Aren't you terrifying with curses? So behave the same with other humans. If you don't want to kneel, break their legs so they will kneel before you.— The older man advised as he went down the stairs.

—You also negotiated with them, how does that make you different?— corrected the albino

—You allow yourself to be upset very easily. I don't like withered lotuses, my dear. Change these snowy winter airs and return to warm spring or I will be forced to take action.—

—It seems strange to me that out of nowhere you wanted to have an heir, any plan in particular?— Satoru hesitated, watching him sit on the throne.

—Every royal family must have at least one heir, we both live with the risk of death as the main daily issue, I thought it would be a good opportunity to have... Forget it, let's wait for the consequences. — ignored the curse resting on one of his hands

—I can't, I'm not made for that, I'm good with children but have one of my own? It would be so strange, waking up and having a child like this out of the blue. I would be a terrible father.— the human apologized

—Let's not talk about the fact anymore, let it be behind us.— Satoru didn't have to ask to know the other's mood.

—I'll go for a walk.— Gojo finished by saying, returning to the main room

>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<

—Hey Fushiguro, don't you think that's weird?— Nobara muttered.

—What thing?— he replied at her side.

—Professor Satoru... invited us out, without curses or work or annoying comments, just... walking for the sake of walking?— the girl explained, taking a sip of her ice cream

—I wouldn't say it's strange, there are many things you don't know about him... the strange thing is he bought two ice creams and didn't swallow them alone. There's definitely something wrong with him.—

Satoru was on the edge of the bench with his gaze covered towards the river. Silence meant something, hands joined, legs crossed.

Yes, something was wrong with him.

—You think he haves love problems?— Kugisaki pointed out excitedly with the dessert

—He never deigned to say it, the last time I asked we ended up hunting curses until dawn. He avoids talking about whoever he goes out with.— the boy complained

—He looks sad.— lamented the sorceress

—No, he looks… desperate.— Megumi corrected.

—Ok, it's not a competition Fushiguro, can I have a taste of yours?— she asked.

—Of course not, I don't want to share your germs.—

—GERMS!? You are by far the most hateful guy I've ever met, I don't have germs!— Nobara yelled getting up from the bench

—I'm not one of those people who appreciates sharing food with others, you with yours, it's one of my laws.— the young man admitted.

—Just to make you know, I brush my teeth three times a day, in addition to using mouthwash and dental floss.— she desperately said with red cheeks

—I'm still not going to share it with you.—

—Come on, come on, I brought you to behave well, not to start yelling at each other.— the oldest intervened

—Fushiguro is so rude.— Nobara pointed out.

—I didn't yell at you.— he broke off

—We're supposed to be friends here, right? Stop fighting over any nonsense.— It was the first time he behaved mature according to his position, the two students looked at each other in complicity, sure they had the same idea.

—Hey Sensei... it's not that I'm trying to get into your business but we noticed you're a little distracted and now you speak with authority you worry me twice as much.— the girl reminded him

—I'm not irresponsible, I'm just trying to be cool.— The older man murmured, turning around.

—She's right, it's a serious matter.— the black-haired man sighed.

—Listen both of us, we should try to be as understanding as possible with others, we can't fight among ourselves or then why are we sorcerers?— Satoru replied —Megumi, I heard what you said, it's okay if you don't want to share something but you must use the way of saying it in which it's not offensive, you sought a fight—
Megumi grunted avoiding answering him. —Nobara, you behaved like a little girl, you have what's yours and you still want someone else's, that's not the solution.— the teacher denied with his finger

—Speaking of the king of Rome.— the student hesitated.

—There's something I've hidden from you and I'm sorry.— Satoru sighed, getting up from the bench.

—Say it then.— Nobara advised simply.

—Yuuji is alive.— he blurted out without warning.

The girl dropped the ice cream cone on the ground while Megumi lost concentration for a few seconds.

Was he serious? Was the airhead still alive?

—Did Sukuna revive him? I knew he could live without a heart but I thought it didn't need a host. How do you know it's him?— replied his most faithful student

—You have any way of knowing? Megumi...— he gasped in disbelief

At the moment that the disturbed things happened, they took an irreparable course, partly because of him. The water that flowed through the canal brought back not very pleasant memories he denied reliving with a slight shake of his head.

Yes, Yuuji was alive but at what cost?

—Why didn't we know before? We thought he...— Kugisaki stammered

—I couldn't, I just couldn't.— Gojo whispered, feeling embarrassed.

—And the big shots left him alive? It's somewhat strange tale to my understanding.— Fushiguro doubted

—You can believe it or not, I'm caught between crosswords on one side and the other, my worries have doubled.—

—Can we see him? I want to yell at him for being so stupid and letting himself be killed like that!— the girl bellowed, wiping away her tears.

—I'll do my best, I'll try to find a place.— The professor smiled palely, knowing that he would have to face a king in a bad mood.

>•<•>•<•>•<•>•<

Sukuna was resting on his throne when the image of a vanished consort appeared before him.

—Have you clarified your ideas?— he asked from his place

—A bit, I thought about going to my apartment but then I remembered our little love nest.— Satoru laughed crossing the thin bridge

—What a way to call our palace.— grumbled the oldest.

—Is that? I thought it was a nice place for your whims, did you miss me?— Gojo rambled approaching

—No, what could I miss in you?— Trying to sound hurtful, the sovereign leaned back on the seat.

—I understand, you're still upset and we're not on good terms.— Adding a tense sigh, the sorcerer placed himself against a wall of the imaginary hideout, calling for silence.

—Why you're coming back?—

The right question.

—I need you to return Yuuji to me at least for one day.— the human finally spoke.

—And why would I do that?— ironized the curse

—Come here.— Gojo called, indicating with his finger.

Sukuna grumbled getting up to meet the arrogant sorcerer.

—I suppose you and I cannot maintain a relationship as such but we already committed the madness of becoming intertwined so we should try to get along. I'll try... to make you happy.— he hesitated to say avoiding the other's crimson gaze

A cold impact crashed into the king.

Happy? He hadn't been happy since the bloody day he'd made a deal with… Never mind, that was in the past.

An unknown emotion invaded him, his chest lacked a heart and yet now that missing organ was beating in an ingrained beating. Ryoumen touched his chest, sure that something was wrong inside him.

—Are you okay?— Gojo asked, noticing him.

—Come, follow me, let's talk upstairs.—

Getting a little ahead the curse retreated into the main room.

Satoru found the action somewhat strange but it didn't take long for him to catch up.

—What's happening? You got anxious.— The consort acknowledged watching him walk from one side to the other

—I'm restless... I feel something.— He breathed deeply.

—What is it? You feel bad?— That blessed kindness making him question.

—I tried to deny it, since I met you, I think it doesn't make sense now… I fell in love with you, Satoru.— Sukuna admitted uncomfortably

—Oh? Well, that's good news because I fell in love with you too.— murmured the sorcerer with the sweetest voice he could use.

If his heart was beating before, now it was jogging inside him, his legs softened with the declaration, almost taking him to the ground. These were human attitudes.

The walls began to have small black holes where black butterflies, brown moths and some bone dragonflies came out to fly into the room.

—What are these things?— Gojo said, raising his fingers to create infinity.

Sukuna ignored the comment, rushing to open the doors to see chaos reign in his palace.

The reddish water now contained black and white fish drawn with curse symbols splashing merrily. The flowers from the throne next to it had scattered across the wooden floor, spreading in small spots. The butterflies fled from the room accompanying others that were already flying over the wide space.

—Ah, I understand, they are the reflection of your heart... Is it possible that... it regenerated?— inquired the human

—Damn.— he whispered embarrassedly, covering his eyes.

—You should not be ashamed, love does not have to change you, we could be enemies and kill each other one day and still... We would still be in love. You see, the feeling does not define us as a person or a curse, the term "change for love" is a fairy tale. I'm not trying to make you see that it doesn't matter, it's just... It's not impressive as everyone claims.— the sorcerer reflected, leaning against the door

—For someone like me it means ruin, I don't regret it anyway.— he whispered finally entering the room, letting the small apparitions spread out.
