The funeral is on a rainy day, the downpour matching everyone's tears. It's a stinging reminder, and every roll of thunder or crack of lightning causes a chain reaction of twitching and flinching. Chim half-cracks a joke about Buck making one last joke in the afterlife, and soon they've forgotten about crying, laughter bubbling out of their mouths one by one. They're holding their stomachs, all doubled over laughing because it's what he would've wanted. Eddie even cracks a smile for the first time in days, wiping tears away as ones of joy take over from the sad ones running down his cheeks.
They're still the 118, even if they're down one from their usual crew, but his memory lives on. It's in the rare thunderstorms and early morning rain, or the sunny days that no one can walk out into without an entire bottle of SPF on.
