Work Text:

Celiesta, the daughter of Dimitriea and Xenelis, lived on the island of Milasae. She has face blindness, which prevents her from seeing faces but allows her to perceive objects and colors, and she can only distinguish people by their voices. Celiesta is referred to as a probe, and she is unable to see the face of her soul mate, a mono unless they are looking each other in the eye. She possesses the ability to telekinetically move objects, but only those belonging to her soul mate. Celiesta wanted to use her power to move a potted plant when she spotted it and was able to do so. "Mother, who do you think owns this potted plant? I made it move, and I do not know who owns it, but I know that this belongs to my soul mate," said Celiesta. "Why did you ask that? I think you know there is a rule where you cannot ask others about your mono’s thing," her mother replied. "I forgot about that rule, mother." "Then you will have to face the consequence." Celiesta did not realize that she had cursed herself because she completely forgot about that rule and its consequence. The consequence that Celiesta will have to face is that it will be difficult for her to find her soul mate.

Years passed, Celiesta dreamt about someone, most likely her mono, a glimpse of their success in life. Xenelis, her father, asked his daughter why she had not found her soul mate. Her father did not know that she had cursed herself. "Why do you not find your mono Celiesta?" "Father, I am still not interested in finding her. I want to focus more on how to battle before anything else." One day, she dreamt about her soul mate again. Her dream this time was about how happy they were together. Celiesta talked about her vision with her father. Xenelis said when he found Dimitriea, it was a long journey, but it was worth it because he loved her dearly. Celiesta became interested in finding her soul mate after speaking with her father and decided to embark on a journey to find her someone. She bade her parents farewell: "Mother, father, I want to find my soul mate. Please give me a blessing for a safe journey in finding her." "Have a safe journey, Celiesta. I hope you find your soul mate and bring her home safely." Celiesta started her journey by leaving Milasae with a hopeful heart to find her special someone.

On the other hand, a mortal named Calithea lived on an island called Acame. Calithea is monochrome and can only see in grayscale. She can only see colors when her probe makes eye contact with her, experiencing a phenomenon called "color rush," where she can see a rush of colors. Everyone was head over heels for her because she was the most beautiful mortal on that island. A goddess named Salufrania lived on the same island as Calithea. She was jealous of Calithea’s beauty. Salufrania had set up an abduction plan to get rid of Calithea and had partnered with the god Ouro, who had fallen deeply for Calithea. "Salufrania, where are we going?" Calithea asked. "You will see." Salufrania took Calithea to the seaside town of Acame, where Ouro was waiting. "Who is this Salufrania?" Calithea questioned. "Oh. He is Ouro, your husband." "Husband? I have no spouse, Salufrania," "Now, you do have one," Salufrania responded while smirking and cursing Calithea. The curse was to make Calithea fall in love with Ouro and to make the island never know who Calithea was except for her parents. Ouro then takes Calithea to an isolated island in the north called Motiri, where he lives.

After journeying for quite a long time, Celiesta set foot on Acame and proceeded to ask for help in finding her mono. Celiesta brought the potted plant with her while asking for help, but she did not ask who the owner of the potted plant was. "Hello, I am Celiesta! I am finding my mono, but I need some allies. Can you help me find my mono?" asked Celiesta. "Oh, yes, of course, we are Natassa and Meneseus," they answered. She then met Natassa and Meneseus, Calithea’s parents. They were familiar with the potted plant but were unable to pinpoint where they saw it. They suddenly remembered that their daughter owned the potted plant that Celiesta was holding. "Would you mind if I looked at that potted plant you are holding?" Meneseus asked. "Oh, no, I would not mind, here!" Celiesta replied. "I think this potted plant belongs to our daughter Natassa." "Oh yeah, it does!" Celiesta was confused because of what they were discussing. "May I know what the name of your daughter is?" Celiesta asked. "Her name is Calithea." "She got abducted by someone named Ouro, and he took her to the island of Motiri." The three then started asking for directions to Motiri, but no one knew how to get there since it is an isolated island with giants who like to threaten gods, goddesses, and mortals. They decided to travel north to see if they hit any land.

On the island of Motiri, Calithea got treated well, but one day she noticed something off with Ouro. He acted differently and badly treated Calithea. It was lunchtime, and Ouro gave a pomegranate to his wife to eat for dessert. Ouro did not know that pomegranates could break the curse of Salufrania on Calithea. Once she ate the fruit, she was confused because she did not recognize the person in front of her. "Who are you!?" she asked. "It is I, your spouse, my lady," Ouro replied. "The last time I checked my status, I had no husband!" "Did the curse break?" "Huh? What curse?" "Salufrania cursed you to fall in love with me and make the island of Acame forget about you!" Calithea was very confused about what had happened. Ouro decided to lock Calithea in a cage where she could not escape. "Let me out!" said Calithea. "I will not let you out! You are now forever mine!" Ouro replied. "Please let me out!" Calithea is now crying and screaming at Ouro, begging him to let her out. "Why don’t you wait for your savior, my lady? I bet she is now on her way here," Ouro said teasingly. He left Calithea alone because she was crying loudly. Calithea then pondered whether her soul mate could save her. While pondering, she fell asleep because of her tiredness from crying. Calithea dreamed about someone willing to fight everything for her, and that someone was Celiesta, which made her immediately fall.

Celiesta, Natassa, and Meneseus reached the island of Motiri. "I think this is the island of Motiri," Natassa said. "I think so too," Meneseus replied. Before they could set foot on the island, the seashore was surrounded by giants waiting for someone to arrive. The three realized they needed to fight the giants before they could step inside. Celiesta asked for the help of the goddess Mairi to guide them in succeeding in the battle between them and the giants. Celiesta led the way in finding Calithea. They soon found the cage where Calithea was held captive. Celiesta made eye contact with Calithea, which led her to see her face, whereas Calithea saw a rush of colors, which meant they were soul mates. Out of nowhere, Ouro spoke, "Oh, why, hello there. Did the three of you come to save Calithea?" Ouro asked. "Yes, but may I ask, who are you?" said Meneseus. "Oh, my bad, Ouro is my name, and Calithea is my wife." "Wife? How is she your wife when her probe is here?" Natassa said. "Enough! Let us put this to battle and see who will take Calithea home," Ouro said angrily. The two fight with all their might.

In the end, Celiesta won and defeated Ouro. She went to where Calithea was captured and took her out of the cage. "I won the battle for you, my love," Celiesta said to Calithea. “Thank you so much! I owe you a lot, love," Calithea replied. They hugged each other tightly. Calithea looked at her parents, who were crying because they had finally found their missing daughter. After their reunion, they decided to head back home. "Mother, will I have to go with you or Celiesta?" Calithea asked. "It is your decision, honey. We will be happy with any decision you make," Natassa replied. "Father, can I go with Celiesta?" "Yes, you may, but be safe on your way home, okay?" Meneseus answered. They both bid their farewells and started the journey back home.

On their way home, they chatted about what had happened in their lives. Celiesta told her story of how she cursed herself because of the rule she broke where probes cannot ask someone about the things on their monos. They are still fascinated by how their weakness can be solved just by making eye contact. Calithea also told her story of what she remembered before being cursed by Salufrania. Their journey back home was peaceful until they encountered a sea monster. They both fought but did not succeed. They fell into the water and died; their ship was wrecked, and nothing could be repaired. The goddess Mairi pitied them because they loved each other dearly, so she resurrected them and fixed their boat. Celiesta and Calithea thanked the goddess and continued their journey home.

When they reached the island of Milasae, the hometown of Celiesta, people surrounded the seashore. Dimitriea and Xenelis thought their daughter was no longer alive. They were shocked when they saw Celiesta with her soul mate on the shore. "Mother, father, look who I found!" said Celiesta. "Oh my, daughter, you have found your soul mate!" Dimitriea replied. "May I know your name?" Xenelis asked. "Oh, hi, Calithea is my name," she replied. "We are Celiesta’s parents, Dimitriea and Xenelis," "Nice to meet you, Mrs. Dimitriea and Mr. Xenelis!" Calithea said. "Darling, just call us mother and father," Xenelis said while Calithea smiled. "Everyone! Let us celebrate the return of my daughter, Celiesta, with her soul mate, Calithea!" Dimitriea shouted. Before they went to the venue, they first went to the shore to take some time to take in what was happening. They walked along the seashore with their hands intertwined. Celiesta faced Calithea and said, "Going on a journey to find you was worth it."
