Chapter Text
Pages from The Starfleet Planetary Archives:
Lyca X is the tenth planet in the Lycan system, a former Shinite Colony. It is home to a species of bipedal creatures that look like and have aspects similar to wolves due to Lyconian Animal Disease. Human-ish, but hairer. Their eyes glow in the dark, they have fangs.
Lumen: Earthen colony. Is still recovering from a crippling drought that killed the majority of the population in 2245.
Krypton System (Krypton IX):
Krypton IX is home to a race of faintly imitative, four eyed, blue/green skinned creatures known as Brillien. They have four legs that all operate like hands, with only two “fingers”. The planet is low-gravity, and the Brillien live in buildings that are very similar to building blocks. Their eyelids close sideways, and their language only has one set of pronouns (all of them are “xe/xem/xyr”, regardless of gender). They do not have hair but do have an extra limb-type thing that runs from their head down to their mid-back and is fused to the skin. They are good at copying languages, while their native language sounds like chittering and clacking to outside ears.
Calite System (Shina and Strata):
Shina is one of two habitable planets in the Calite System and home to a species of bipedal, highly artistic, four legged creatures. The Shinites have blue skin, black hair-like feelers coming from their scalps, six-fingered webbed hands, and an extremely large eye that changes color based on their mood. They are a hive mind, and are peaceful, with community democracies and a planet-wide peace council. They are known for their healing skills, and their names are backwards- last name first. It is rare that any Shinite is found off-world, as it pains them to be long distances away from the rest of the hive mind.
Strata is the other habitable planet in the Calite system. It is a major trade center and covered in trade and shuttle ports.
Aurelian System (Cymatilis and C’yithara):
Cymatilis is home to a semi-amphibious race of blue skinned bipedal creatures. They have large webbed hands and feet, and bioluminescent markings on their heads, faces, tails, and arms. They live in large underwater cities, with their capital city being the only one that is even partially above the water.
C’yithara is home to a planet-full of bipedal cat-like creatures with three genders. The current government is in shambles due, in part, to an attempted coup on the tribal leader-of-leaders (Ta’ka). They live in tribes on a mostly cold-desert planet, and many of them are trained in the art of hand-to-hand combat from a young age.
Forge Sector (Two Habitable planets in orbit around one another, and orbiting the sun):
Path:
Home to a species of monkey-like creatures called the Corti, with large bat-like ears whose tips wrap around their heads to connect with each other at the back. Corti are smaller than most species, furry, have prehensile tails, bright red eyes. They live in tribes and communicate with an extensive sign language. In communication with others, they use Tele-Translators (which translate thoughts into words), as they do not have vocal cords. Cortisan eyes are sensitive to environments outside of their homeworld, and they wear goggles when they are offworld.
Also home to a species of feathery creatures with eight legs and wings, Called So-li. So-li share the jungles of Path with their counterparts, the Corti, and their language sounds a lot like humming. They tend to be in primary colors, with back eyes and a semi-transparent pale-blue eyelid. They are about the side of a large dog, with moth-like wings and a series of trailing tales (like jellyfish fellers). So-li can morph into a humanoid-like form when needed, as a form of camouflage developed post first contact with the Corti. These humanoid forms have movable pointed ears, pointy teeth, and pale skin colors- ranging from blue to pink/purple to yellow, with any color of hair. Their eyes remain the same, but their skin gains the pattern of their wings. When speaking standard, they are often quiet spoken.
From the Starfleet Dictionary Archives:
DST- Drop-Ship Troops. Specially trained Command and Engineering officers who drop from low-orbit onto a planet and can fight on both the ground and air. Also known as LODF (Low-Orbital Drop Forces). This Starfleet training was halted in 2250, and all LODF Officers were either reabsorbed by their primary department, or decommissioned.
