What is the point of even trying?
Throughout our lives we have always been told that we should aspire to be the best version of ourselves. That we can achieve anything we want as long as we try hard enough.
But what good are all those promises when in reality all we get is disappointment?
There's always going to be something we're terrible at.
We will always be the worst at something.
There will always be someone better than us.
That's why it's not worth trying. Because the only thing you get out of it is a waste of time, until your whole body ends up burned out from lack of any kind of advancement.
Because if there are already things in this world that will inevitably be forever out of your control, then what's the point in even trying?
You know very well from the beginning that you are going to fail, and yet you continue. Because you adorn your concerns with false happy thoughts as fragile as a flower, waiting for the lightest of breezes to blow them away like the useless things they are.
It is not worth having hopes when you are aware that it will be of no use to you. The future will take care of shattering it to the point where the only thing left will be an empty hole full of ashes where your stupid dreams used to be.
It's not worth fighting or trying to be better. All that nonsense our parents tell us as kids is just a crude attempt to make us grow up with the false assumption that the world is at our feet, when in reality we were never even touching the ground to begin with.
Because that's what life is all about. You're just a tiny speck of dirt on a totally opaque pane of glass, living each day trying to maintain a positive attitude even though you know that your existence will be erased by the wave of a hand.
Trying to improve as a person? You may be able to change for a short time, but after that you will only go back to being the same. Because change does not exist, we only pretend because we do not like to accept that there is no way to get rid of what we are and will be forever.
Achieving what we want based on effort? No matter how hard you try to scratch diamond with your fingernail, it is an impossible task. Just like anything else you set out to do in this world. Any kind of attempt is pathetic because there is no way that simple effort will get you anywhere. In fact it is impossible to go anywhere at all. The goals we set for ourselves are actually the same place we stand every day but with a different facade. So when we reach them, the feeling of happiness is just as hollow as your very own being.
Because it doesn't matter what you do, who you are, or what you want. You can't get rid of the chains you are bound with from the moment you open your eyes as a baby.
The only difference is that some people have looser chains than others.
Those are the ones who really deserve merit. Being able to at least weaken that which binds them is what makes them individuals who stand above the rest. Their skills, knowledge, and even their damn future is much more promising than yours.
And you want to know why?
Because they are genuinely superior.
Go ahead, try to shake and tug at your chains as much as you can. Pretend that even the slightest change means something huge. Because in the end all you do is repeat the same lie to yourself over and over again, believing that your own self can even get one step above what it will always be.
The only truth in this world is written in stone, so etch it carefully:
Your efforts will never avail anything, for your own soul has been doomed ever since your miserable existence could even be considered as such.
