Work Text:
The trial was getting heated. Hiro was still declaring his innocence (even though he was not a suspect anymore). Finally the focus was on Celestia Ludenburg. She was shouting how that is her real name as the class heard a familiar sound. The elevator was leaving, without the students.
Everything went silent. After what felt like an eternity of quiet, the elevator descended once again. The doors creaked open and out walked seven familiar figures. They walked to their positions calmly, like this was totally normal. They moved their pictures out of their way and stood in front of their lecterns.
Finally the silence was broken.
“What are we talking about? Is it murder? Are we talking about murder?” Leon said with a goofy grin.
With this all the formally dead classmates howled with laughter.
“WHY Leo? Why did you have to start it like that?” Mondo barely got out through his laughter.
“I thought it was funny,” The formerly dead baseball star said with a shrug.
“Before you ask. No, we don't know how we’re back. Last thing I remember was being hit by Mondo and then I was awake again, right as rain.” Chihiro said, notably less timid than before.
“I still have a headache, thanks Hifumi,” Taka said sarcastically.
“My stomach still hurts,” Sayaka said with her hands over her stomach.
“So yeah, no clue how we got back, but we woke up up stairs and Chihiro hotwired the gates to get us down here,” Taka said, “And yes I know it is against the rules but now I see some value in breaking the rules.”
“Oh and before I forget. It was Celestia who tricked Hifumi to kill me. Thanks asshole” Taka said, muttering the last part, shocking everyone.
“Monokuma,” Leon said, finally addressing their captor,” since there is no longer a dead student can we just say this case is dismissed? I mean there can’t be a blackened without a dead student or two.”
“UGH!” Monokuma shouted angrily” FINE! Since there are no dead students I guess” Monokuma banged his gavel, “Case Dismissed!”
“Let’s get upstairs before he changes his mind” Hiro said while eyeing the not dead classmates.
“Yes, let's go. I need food, I am starving” Sayaka said as her stomach gurgled loudly in agreement to the idea of food.
The fifteen students for the first time all stepped onto the elevator and it was awkward.
“So. You guys are really alive.” Makoto said in barely a whisper, clearly in shock.
“Makoto, I am so sorry. I really fucked up when I tried to kill Leon and frame you. I should not have let my fear for my band mates' safety to cause me to act so irresponsibly. Leon, I am sorry to you as well. I had no right to try to…kill you” Sayaka apologized.
“ Yeah, I should not have gone back to… kill you either. While I accept your apology, I think I need space. I was stoned to death by balls, and that was godawful.” Leon replied.
The class awkwardly made their way to the kitchen for a much needed meal and a long talk about how to solve problems correctly (mostly a long lecture from Taka that not even Mondo could get out of).
