Family Feels

Summary:

Max discovers he's pregnant when he's not ready to be a parent yet, let alone a single parent.

However, he does know a mated couple that might be ready.

Notes:

hi guys.

this is something new for me to try and I am a little worried that it's disappointing, but we will see.

Thank you Quagswagging for organising this - the 2021 version was the first ever gift exchange I joined in this fandom, and now I'm back again. I hope you like this!

About the abortion tag: because this fic contains unplanned pregnancy, our main character (Max) thinks about the options he has and so this fic mentions abortion. Isn't mentioned very detailed, but if this is triggering for you in any way, don't hesitate to close the tab. take care of yourself <3

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Kinda crazy

@FerrarisValentine

This f1 year was so wild, considering all the pr stuff we went through. F1Gossip would NOT shut up. I swear I still don’t know how they didn’t get sued.

Is Champion Max Verstappen pregnant?

Everyone knows that omega and Formula One champion Max Verstappen is incredibly careful when it comes to his private life. We, F1Gossip, barely ever mention him because there is almost nothing to say.

Today, however, you are in for a treat. An anonymous source came to us and shared pictures of the security film. In this film it could be seen how Max Verstappen is browsing the pregnancy ail and selecting and returning several pregnancy tests, only to go to the employee to pay for three of them.

Is our famous omega expecting?

Our source told us that he had been especially silent, but that there had been no alpha in sight. We wonder who got lucky with our grid’s most successful omega.

As always you can trust us — the moment we know more, we will update you.

Lando lets the previous champion do all the hard work? Rumor says he and his alpha will adopt Max’ kid

[Picture description: Alpha Carlos gives Max a side hug, while omega Lando hugs the both of them.]

Max Verstappen seems to be even more on the down low than he already used to be since the pregnancy rumors got released. It’s still not known whether the omega is doing this to hide the truth or if he’s simply not willing to deal with them. The omega’s opinion about press and gossip is widely known, after all.

However, sources from inside the paddock explain that the omega has been spotted with Carlos and Lando even more than normal. The Dutch omega has always been close with the mated couple, but since the supposed pregnancy this contact seems to have risen.

Another insider explains what he knows.

“It seems like Norris doesn’t want to give up his chances of a championship with a pregnancy,” he says, “So there must have been some sort of deal struck with Max. Now the question is whether Carlos is the biological father or not.”

What do you think? Did Carlos get Max pregnant or is there a mystery alpha we need to hunt down?

Be sure to follow so you read the newest updates as soon as possible!

The reason behind adoption: “Spanish Stallion” can’t get it up?

A very important question got answered the moment former champion Max Verstappen announced that he was in fact pregnant and taking a step back from this formula one season.

But this one answer raised a whole lot of other questions. The omega didn’t say anything about Carlos and Lando in his statement, but it seems a generally accepted fact that the mated couple will take in the child after it gets born.

Opinions on why are divided. Most say that Lando doesn’t want to ruin his championship chances with a pregnancy, but others refute that — because why would Max be willing to give away his chance at a third championship?

A different take that’s making the rounds is that Max is abandoning his duties as a parent and will let the mated couple take on all the responsibilities only to reclaim his role as a parent again.

Whatever the future might bring, there is more to talk about in the current days. Because why did the mated couple accept Max’s proposal in the first place?

Insiders say it’s because Carlos’ alpha genes may be lacking and he’s incapable of knotting, and will thus forever leave his omega without kids.

That’s quite disappointing to hear from our Spanish Stallion, isn’t it?

Pack of winners seems happier than ever: but is omega Max overly engaged in the life of the kid he gave away?

It’s well known that omega Max Verstappen leads a pack in the paddock, one fondly dubbed “the pack of winners”, now that Lando too has claimed his win.

Pictures, both posted by the members of the pack and taken by outsiders, show just how many good times they seem to have together, but people have started to raise a very valid question.

Is Max not getting too involved of the life of the child he gave away? There must have been a reason why he didn’t keep the child himself, but as we see how much he still spends together with the child, it almost seems like the omega might regret his choice.

What do you think?

Is Max too close with the child, mayhaps regretting his decision, or is this normal pack behavior?

More importantly, F1Gossip has to note that Alpha and newly crowned Formula One champion Charles Leclerc has been spotted hanging out with them more often these days. Could he have something to do with all this?

Stick around to see how this story unfolds.

Max knows exactly when it happened. Only one night can even be a potential candidate — his sex life has been quite tame. This particular night, he can remember from start to finish, no matter how many alcoholic drinks he had downed without even considering his drink count.

The touch of Daniel’s hands on his hips haunts him, just like the way his ass had been grinding against Daniel’s erection. It’s different from the past haunting his memories of their escapades used to do. This one seems to have consequences other ones didn’t seem to have.

The positive pregnancy test in his hand seems to laugh at him. Of course, there are consequences this time.

It’s another chapter of impulse decisions that he can add to their story, or what used to be them. He had hoped that the book had been finished once and for all, but apparently, the both of them just had to add an epilogue.

Neither of them has ever been known for stopping when they should have.

Maybe that’s why he’s pregnant and Daniel Red Bull’s newest PR stunt.

It’s in Austria when Max breaks the news. It’s kind of ironic, to do this at the end of a work weekend. But Max just hadn’t known how to do it otherwise. Nobody ever writes a guide on how to tell your ex-teammate-past-lover-new-colleague-and-one-night-stand that he got you pregnant and that you aren’t quite planning on playing happy family with him.

“You’re pregnant,” Daniel repeats, eyes wide.

“Yes,” he answers, not quite sure what proof he has to give the older. He’s definitely not planning on laying the pregnancy test on the table right here and now.

But Daniel chuckles and shakes his head. “In my memory, you had better taste in jokes.”

Max swallows his anger. Even now Daniel can’t be serious. He shouldn’t be surprised, he knows why he broke up with the alpha — why he never talked about mating with Daniel, but it’s still… Frustrating. Painful. Annoying.

Another confirmation of why his decision is a good one.

“You only say that because I laughed at yours,” he replies, not oblivious to the bite in his own words. “But no, I am in fact serious. And I’m not planning on raising them with you.”

It seems that it takes a serious decision like this for Daniel to understand just how serious Max is being.

“But,” Daniel tries, and Max can almost Daniel’s brain trying to form a proper reply, “But it’s my child too.”

“Biologically, yes,” Max replies, “And if you want to claim your role as alpha of the child I can’t stop you.”

However, his heart freezes at the idea. For the child, he is willing to try everything, but he knows Daniel and him aren’t compatible like that. He doesn’t want to make anything in the child’s life hard just because his parents couldn’t get along. Nobody deserves that.

“But you don’t want me to,” Daniel continues.

“No,” he responds, “We never discussed being a mating pair for reasons. I don’t want to be forced to play happy couple for the child, nor do I want them to be negatively affected by us being like that.”

It’s silent for a few seconds before Daniel responds.

“It seems like you thought about this a lot.”

Max bites his tongue just so nothing rude slips out. He wanted to do this civilly, and didn’t want to be the bad one in this situation.

“Obviously,” Max startles himself by still letting it slip out. Sometimes he thinks he has grown, matured more, and then he surprises himself with things like this.

“Good,” Daniel responds and it makes Max sigh from relief. It’s not praise he wants or needs, but it seems like Daniel won’t put up a fight about this. He’s not quite sure how it would have ended up if Daniel had actually tried to claim his role as father and alpha. He wants a chance at his own happy ending, and that doesn’t seem like the way for him.

Daniel isn’t done talking just yet, and Max isn’t quite sure if he can still appreciate the alpha’s talkativeness anymore.

“I don’t think I will be able to combine being with Red Bull and a father anyways, you know? I’ll be so busy and I really want to make the most of this opportunity.”

Max smiles, a fake one, and hopes it isn’t as obvious as he feels it is.

“Good luck with that,” he responds, before picking up his phone and wallet. He lays a twenty euro bill on the table and stands up, putting everything away. “Thank you for meeting me.”

As he walks out of the café, he feels Daniel’s eyes on him. But that’s okay, he can handle this. He had decided to do this alone before Daniel voiced out that he didn’t want to be a father anyways. Daniel’s rejection of the child, the lack of want to even fight for it, doesn’t hurt at all.

Not at all.

He doesn’t go to his own apartment that night.

Lando opens the door after one knock, sleep still in his eyes. The younger omega must’ve been asleep not too long ago.

“Did I wake you up?” Max teases, and Lando flashes a sleepy smile.

“Was nesting and fell asleep,” his friend answers, and Max can’t help but lean closer and scent the omega. Making sure his pack is happy and safe.

“Who’s that?” A voice asks from the back of the apartment, not too long before Carlos appears, only wearing boxers. “Oh, hi,” Carlos says the moment he spots Max, “Come in. Don’t stay out.”

Max takes the alpha up on his invite, though he laughs. “Now I know why you fell asleep.”

Lando’s flush is worth the friendly slap he gets in reaction.

Max ends up in Lando’s nest, his scent probably exposing his need for comfort. When he lays in between the alpha and omega, a seed gets planted.

He knows a child can grow up happily with a single parent, he has seen enough examples of happy parent-child families. But it’s just not for him. Not yet. In his head, he has seen himself with children, but he had always imagined being able to do such a thing with a mate by his side.

Abortion is an option, but not one he is overly fond of. Especially not before he discusses this idea. If this doesn’t work out, he can always consider parenting alone or the option to end his pregnancy.

If he was anyone else, he might’ve thought about it longer. If Lando and Carlos were not who they are, Max might’ve not even considered it. But they’re his closest pack, people he considers family, and he trusts them with his whole heart. And a child, it appears.

“Have you thought about children?” Max asks before he pulls himself up into a sitting position. Lando’s scent immediately sweetens and Max watches how Carlos too pulls himself up from where he was laying.

“Yes,” they answer at the same time, and it’s incredibly sweet to see how they smile at each other, their scents mingling to become pure happiness.

“In what situation?” he asks, trying to feel around before he drops a bomb on them. If he wanted to do it after retiring both, Max will keep it to himself until he makes a decision. He doesn’t want any of his pack to feel like they have to retire in order to be a parent for a child.

“When it comes,” Carlos answers, “We discussed it for a long time. When the opportunity comes, it comes.”

“We are flexible,” Lando says, a little giggle at the innuendo which has Max smiling. “No, but seriously, we would love to have our own family. It just hasn’t been our time yet.”

The pure happiness becomes a little pure, with a slightly sour aftertaste to it now. Max plays with Lando’s hair, both to calm himself and the other omega. Carlos rumbles too, shuffling closer to Lando so he can pull his mate into a hug.

The two whisper a little to each other, and Max lets them. They need this moment for themselves, and it seems like they have spent more hours on the topic than he expected.

When their scent loses its sourness, Max dares to open his mouth again.

“I want to ask you both something.”

Both Lando and Carlos look up at him again, noticing how serious he is. He wants to make sure neither of them misunderstands this.

“I’m pregnant, and I want to ask if you two wanted to adopt the child.”

ORDER CONFIRMATION #1521

Interpack adoption: how adoption in packs work

A study on how packs usually handle adoption. This book takes you into the effects on members, how hormones change, and what things you have to keep in mind when you let your pack member adopt your child or adopt from a pack member.

Help! I’m adopting

This book is amazing for people that have decided to adopt a child. Anything you have to keep in mind, this will touch on.

Parenting in your own way — a guidebook for mated pairs on how to parent in a way that makes you happy

No person is the same, no matter their designation. Just like that, no mated pair is the same, no matter who is part of it. This means that parenting looks different for everyone. Together with this book you and your mate can figure out how you feel about parenting and how you would like to do this important aspect of life together.

The effects of adoption and child loss on omegas

It’s a frequent assumption that omega and child are one. But what if an omega decides to not parent a child? Or if an omega adopts a child? Their decisions all have a big impact on the life of an omega, but also their hormonal state, and the way their secondary designation impacts them might be bigger than one expects.

The sound of a key unlocking his front door doesn’t even surprise him anymore. Ever since he told his close circle that he is pregnant, the random visits have risen in number.

Charles’ scent floods into the house as the alpha lets himself in, and that’s when Max does look up. The alpha definitely isn’t his closest pack member, but ever since the last season, they have grown a lot closer. Battling together doesn’t necessarily seem to ruin any chance of a relationship it seems. 2021 almost made him think differently.

“What are you doing here?” he asks, especially when he sees how Charles doesn’t get rid of his jacket.

“I’m taking you somewhere,” Charles answers. “You have not been out a lot since the morning sickness got worse. I think you need to have a fun time out again.”

Max looks down at his slight baby bump. It’s nearing the end of February, with only a week left until testing. Only a week left until the world gets to learn that he will be skipping a single season.

He doesn’t hate the fact. He chose to do it like this. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t dread the public reaction. It’s something he has never really minded, but now it’s just not himself anymore. Now it might include his friends, and it will definitely include the child that isn’t even aware of the world yet.

They don’t deserve that.

But he doesn’t deserve isolation and loneliness either. So he looks up to Charles.

“What did you have in mind?”

“Do you want to help me buy Carlos and Lando stuff for the baby room?”

Max nods. That sounds like a fun way to spend the day and not meet too many people that might know him. He wants to care for his pack properly and he knows Lando has been stressing over the possibility of being a bad parent and not living up to his expectations.

“Okay, let me find something to cover up.”

Facing the outside world together with Charles became a thing after that. Max isn’t sure why the alpha comes around so much. A little part of him, the insecure voice in his head that he mostly ignores but can’t always wish away, thinks that the alpha might just really go well on the pregnancy hormones.

He had read in a book that an omega’s scent changes during their pregnancy, how it’s more relaxing for those around them, and how it has positive effects on pack members.

In the past, he wouldn’t have considered Charles as part of his pack. Not that a pack is as cemented as people sometimes think. Its members can change over and over again. People can leave, return, and leave forever. There is no ritual to be included or excluded; the only thing that happens is a change in scents, a bond that appears if all members of the pack are okay with each other.

This is why a dynamic changes too during conflicts; the moment there is a true disagreement that doesn’t let members feel safe anymore, smaller packs appear by nature so they can protect and help each other until they are ready to unite again.

But as they sit like this, on a blanket in the morning sun, Max is able to banish the insecurity. He knows that Charles wouldn’t go to all these lengths if it was just for a scent or a small feeling. Nor would he have been accepted into the pack if his intentions hadn’t been genuine.

The alpha had prepared a picnic, making sure to include some of Max’s cravings. His belly and baby have been especially in need of pickles, peanut butter (the Dutch brand), and liverpaté (once again the Dutch brand). He really appreciates the work Charles put into this because getting these brands mustn’t be easy.

“Thank you,” he says to Charles, letting his head rest on Charles’ shoulder as they look at the amazing view in front of them. Outside of all the work Charles is doing by arranging this, Max appreciates even more that Charles took the time to see him.

They’re a few races into the season he’s skipping, and he knows how scarce free time can be. So for Charles to spent it with him — it means a lot.

The baby kicks and he winces, waiting for the discomfort to pass as the tiny human inside of him tries to find a comfortable position once again. Charles moves so Max can lean more comfortable against him, and uses a hand to pat Max’ belly.

“Calm down,” Charles tells the baby, as if it might follow the alpha’s command even before birth, “You somehow already resemble Lando.”

Max snorts at the joke. While Lando was very small when Max got to know him, he never knew the younger omega as a baby, yet as he thought about it, shy, clumsy, and a lot of kicking came to mind.

He also appreciates how Charles already acknowledges that Lando will be the child’s omega parent, completed by Carlos as alpha. It’s good to know that Charles is okay and supports his decision, even when it’s by small things like this.

The baby settles, and the peace returns once more.

That’s when Max decides, that maybe, in the future, when he has won even more, when he feels satisfied with where he came, when he has made all the kilometers in a formula one car he wants to make, and he’s even closer with the alpha next to him, he might be ready for a kid.

Raising a kid with Charles would be good.

Charles would make a good father.

Not now though — not anytime soon. But maybe one day, in the future. For now, he has enough to think about already, and he doesn’t want more. Not when he wants to be sure he is a good pack member for Carlos and Lando once they have their kid.

But the future seems brighter than it used to be. Even when the public can’t shut up, feels like their opinion is superior enough to shove down everyone’s throat, he is safe here. He is loved.

And he’s sure Carlos and Lando will be amazing parents, loving their child.

For once, he’s not worried. And he thinks he won’t be in a while.
