Funny how all of this started with a simple question. Was it truly possible to mourn or yearn for something you didn't even remember?

He made no sound as he got a reply from someone else, and if he was being honest, he wasn't even listening to begin with. In fact, the person just suddenly appeared and started questioning him. Which, in his opinion, was incredibly rude. Why did he deserve to get questioned, just because of how and why he got here? Quite undeserved, really. He didn't even remember it in the first place, so why truly bother with answering?

Likely expecting a reply, the person became quieter and quieter. But then after a bit, he realized that it was him not hearing anything. After a bit, the person seemingly became worried, but alas he wasn't capable of hearing anything they were saying. Upon slightly noticing this, he noticed
that his vision was, in fact, becoming even more blurrier by the moment.

...

Wait, was he falling or as it just his vision that was messing with him? He wanted to say something but couldn't even open his mouth. Before long, his body hit the cold and hard ground, and he had passed out (or fallen asleep, whichever you prefer).

As he opened his eyes, he started to notice that... this place wasn't the same as before, yet he had trouble describing it. It seemed like a black void, before quickly breaking apart and becoming a scene of what he believed to be a... forest mixed with plains?? He wasn't quite sure. The word for it felt familiar on his tongue, yet he wasn't capable of saying it. Alongside everything else, he noticed a lake somewhat far from him, yet not far enough for him to not be able to see it.
Just as he wanted to walk closer to the lake, several other people appeared and he quickly took a few steps back. Yet the people looked... familiar?? He couldn't exactly put a finger on them nor name them, yet they seemed like people he used to be around a lot. They seemed to have specific core colors, one being a purple, the other an orange and the last pink?? He couldn't really figure it out given that some of the colors kept swapping. Strange, truly strange.
In fact, he could hear that they were talking about something, but he couldn't hear what they were talking about as it was nothing but noise that... he decided overwhelmed him, and he took several more steps back.

...

The place broke apart and became something that... he couldn't quite describe. For once, metallic things were moving, with some occasionally stopping and some people walking in and out of them.
Before he realized he was capable of moving, he heard shouting. Looking in the direction of the shouting, he only saw a glimpse of two people, respectively wearing black and white before this place collapsed as well.

...

He should've expected it, really. Not like this has happened twice before, so it definitely shouldn't be surprising that it happened a third time.
This time, however, it was just back to the black void with an exception of a grass patch and.. a blank slate placed on a wooden holder of some kind alongside a chair, and the person sitting in it. In fact, the person was holding a wooden thing with what he believed was paint on it, while what looked like a bug type was on the persons head.
While he was trying to figure out details, he had a feeling that he was... scared? How though, he's a faller not some random clan member, and others make it out like fallers aren't supposed to experience fear? He didn't know, but he clearly felt panicked when looking at the small bug that seemed to have a leaf around its head.

Putting his possible fear of bugs (humiliating, really) aside, he decided to attempt to walk closer, much to his success. As a result of this, the person in the chair turned to look at him. Yet... He wasn't able to see the persons face properly as it was devoid of eyes. However, this person.. no, this man looked and felt incredibly familiar. Was this a close friend of his? He wasn't able to tell.
After a bit, the man opened his mouth and, to his surprise, actually spoke. What a shocker, given that he wasn't able to hear what the other people were saying.
"Ah, G[???????], where have you been? We all miss you so terribly much. In fact, everyone is trying their best to find you and I[???]." The tone and voice was... also incredibly familiar, yet it also felt like it was... more relaxed and distant than usual. Had his alleged disappearance really had that much of an effect? He thought no one had truly cared, yet it seems like it was the opposite.

Just as he opened his mouth to reply, the man infront of him started breaking apart, yet clearly held out a hand in a panicked motion. G[???????], suddenly not wanting to lose him again, did the same, yet it was gone the moment he did it.
There he stood, utterly alone in a black void, with the feeling of tears running down his face. Wait, since when were they there? He didn't have time to question it, as he started to feel faint, and everything became more distant.

He opened his eyes, and quickly shot up into a sitting position. Unsurprisingly, no one was around him. Of course, who would be around a faller like him, when they didn't want information?
Uncaring of his physical state, he got up and walked out of the tent he was in. Of course, now everyone was staring at him. Great, just great.
As someone, who he could recognize as the person that brought him here, started slowly walking towards him, he went in the other direction and while ignoring them, walked out of the settlement.

...

Once he got to the wooden planks above the river, he moved to sit down on them. If anything happened to him there, so be it.
Staring down at the unchanging flow of the river, a sudden sadness overtook him. He guessed it as simply because of the weird... void thing from earlier he experienced.
Despite not remembering anything, he mourned for what he had possibly lost and in turn yearned to come back "home", where ever that was. It was certainly not the settlement, as he hadn't felt more lonely there than he had in the wilderness alone.

While he was sitting there, he felt the tiredness from earlier overcome him, and felt himself slipping into the river. If this was how he went, so be it, he supposed.

While he didn't notice that someone, or something, pulled him out of the river once they, or it, had noticed him simply going along with the river in his unconscious state, he was back in the same void-like place with the same person from earlier. There, he was truly not alone, and surprisingly happy, despite how unhealthy it might be to rely on dreams for two emotions he barely had he was willing to go through it.

It is said that the new diamond clan member, who is only known as Grim, is described to only truly show happiness when asleep. Alongside this, he's known for suddenly just passing out, even in the most dangerous areas. However, when he's unconscious, he typically has a slight smile on his face.
Truly a strange person, that Grim is.
