It was yet another day at the agency and Kunikida was currently on his break, looking through his ideal and, surprisingly, erasing certain parts of it. Which parts to be exact? Well, the parts about his ideal lover. Recently he fall for someone and now, now he can't stand these pages. Who he loves is far from what he wanted and he isn't mad, just hurt. And he's hurt not only mentally because he couldn't stay up to his own ideals. He's also hurt physically, as those awful feelings aren't reciprocated causing a certain problem.
Ranpo, the one who Kunikida fall for, only acts as if he loves him back, but Kunikida just knows the feeling isn't truly mutual. Ranpo acts like he does solely because it's convenient. After all, why would someone like Ranpo love someone like Kunikida? And that's not the worst of it, as Kunikida started coughing and a petal of a gold ambrosia fell from his mouth. This problem came around just a day before Kunikida became a pair with Ranpo and it didn't leave him ever since. Every single day, he just keeps on coughing up slightly more ambrosia petals, all gold like the most expensive of golden jewelry.
Kunikida took out of his pants a small box and put the petal alongside many other petals like it, and hid it back into his pocket. He knows that Yosano can't cure him, there have been people with this particular disease coming and leaving disappointed. There's no cure for Hanahaki, as that's what this disease is called, other than having your feelings reciprocated. All he can do is try and make sure others aren't worried about him by hiding the disease for as long as possible.
But as he was about to go back to erasing, a yellow lollipop plopped onto his notebook. "You look exhausted Kuni, but don't worry, I'm here with my sweets and I'm feeling good so I'll share some of that sugar. Some sucrose always helps with exhaustion" it was none other than Ranpo who threw the sweet. The brunette boy was standing right before Kunikida while eating his own lollipop.
"Thank you Ranpo, but you know I'm not a fan of sugar" replied the blonde, picking up the lollipop and trying to give it back without even looking up at Ranpo. "No no. This won't happen again so I insist this one time" Ranpo started to unwrap the sweet. "Say "Ahh"" said Ranpo. "Ahh-!?" Kunikida complied, but was took of off his guard when Ranpo shoved the lollipop into his mouth with no real hesitation. "You need more sugar or you're gonna start suffering from hypoglycemia Kuni" brunette laughed while smiling like a ray of sunshine.
But Ranpo quickly stopped when the blonde started coughing and the lollipop he had in his mouth wasn't the only thing that fell out of it. "... Can I know why? I love you Kunikida, am I actually not the one you love?" questioned Ranpo with sadness in his tone as he picked up the lollipop, now with two petals of ambrosia sticking to it.
"I have to go, I have five minutes until-" Kunikida stood up and was about to go away, but Ranpo stopped him before he could go too far. "... Is it not clear? I know you actually don't love me Ranpo" the blonde just looked at the brunette without a show of any actual emotions.
"That explains alot, come here you lovely idiot" and Ranpo just hugged Kunikida. "Tell me what's so not loveable about you hmm? That's right, it's nothing. You are the most lovely person I know and I do love you, is there a way I can prove it?" the shorter man just smiled with a laugh.
"Why? Just why?"
"I don't have to explain why I love you, hmm, how about we take a day off at my place and I'll show you every piece of my love for you?"
"You know I don't take day offs"
"I don't care, too late, you're coming with me until you're back to screaming at me for lazing around"
And before Kunikida could even realize, he was being dragged away by force stronger than he could've expected. Guess he can't escape Ranpo's love now.
