Lucifer's Castle - Royal Bedroom.
Lucifer turned the apple-shaped handle and opened the large wooden door leading to his royal bedroom. If he had opened this door to which normally no one has access to other than him, it was for none other than his powerful right hand man, his protégé, one of the most powerful Overlord in Hell, Alastor.
"Why thank you." Replied the Overlord politely. Alastor then stepped toward the large room, followed behind by the King of Hell who once inside, took the kindness to gently close the door to avoid the squeaking of it disturb the two lords.
If both were there, it was because the situation was centered on Lucifer. The king called Alastor, as he was someone he could trust to adress a subject that has been long hidden by his majesty. Something that he has been living daily since The Fall.
"What is grieving you, my Lord? You haven't said anything for days." Asked the Overlord.
"I know." Lucifer walked forward past Alastor, to stand in front of his gold and luxury mirror. In front of his own reflection, the King slowly and carefully removed his long white collared suit, which he then placed on his bed. "That is why I have to talk to you about this, you are someone I always trusted and love, and there should be no secrets between us." He untied his black bowtie.
"Your secret will be well kept my lord."
"I appreciate your loyalty." After finishing his sentence, Lucifer took a deep breath to try and stay completely calm. It's not all time that the king addresses his problems and the worst thing he always imagined was if someone was worried about him, which is why Lucifer never talks about his problems. But on this occasion, he didn't needed to worry to talk about a problem with Alastor.
Lucifer calmly lifted his red-white striped undershirt and began to remove it from up and down. As he took great care in doing so, the back of his skinny white skin body revealed a sort of red-blood tattoo in the shape of a cobra. A tail starting from the King's lower back with its coiled body, to the middle of Lucifer's back with the cobra's mouth wide open ready to bite.
"!" Alastor, in full view of the tattoo on his majesty's back, gasped. "Unbelievable, this is.."
"A cobra" replied Lucifer calmly, he even started to bow his head. "Even since The Fall, I have been cursed with this tattoo on my back as a punishment for my betrayal. Anytime I use my powers, It crawls higher, harder, with no mercy other than make me more vulnerable each and every day. Until one crucial day, it reaches my neck and kills me in the process." Lucifer ended with a deep sigh, not because he was sad but more a little.. worried? It simply wasn't his kind to worry about something and more importantly to confess what is worrying him. Him who was always described as very powerful, in fact wasn't, and that for years.
Understanding the sufferings that Lucifer had to succumb throughout the years, Alastor approached his lord and put his hand on Lucifer's shoulder for a delicate and simple touch. This deliberate gesture was notably to bring him comfort, even as little as it was. "My deepest apologies, is there anything or I can do to help your demise or break the curse?"
"Don't try. There is nothing you can do."
"I hate to bring fake news on the table but Lucifer, there has to be a way to do something, by using powers or any kind of spell nonsense."
"I appreciate your willingness to help me, but someone like you, should know that not every problem has a solution."
"My Lord I.." Alastor wanted to add something else but interrupted himself. As the king mentionned, not every problem has a solution, and proposing one would not only be a waste of his Lord's time and also make him look stubborn at trying to find one. Instead of words, The deer took choice of giving more support, comfort, by rubbing Lucifer's shoulder.
"If something happens to me, I don't want to leave you without answers."
End.
