Work Text:

The gag knotted at the back of Alexander’s head was rough in his mouth, at this point filled with saliva, weighing it down. The man in front of him scowled.

“So, we’re going to try this again, and this time, you had better start talking.” With jerky movements, he removed the gag, leaving Alexander desperately trying to get moisture back in his mouth and doing his best to ignore the persistent burning in his arms and shoulders as they continued to support his weight. The metal was cold around his wrists, and gravity was something that he had become hyper aware of over the past… week? Two weeks? Who knew.

If this idiot thought that he was going to talk, then he was dumber than he looked.

“Well?” he prompted, attempting to elicit some sort of response from his uncooperative captive. “Hm, maybe I can help loosen your tongue.”

In a familiar movement, he drew back his hand, and in a flash, his palm had struck against Alexander’s abused face. The recipient remained silent. This earned him a hit to the other side of the face to even things out, as well as a solid punch to the gut, though a small gasp for air was the only acknowledgement of feeling that he gave.

“Oh my, you are much more boring than I had anticipated,” his captor sighed. His sigh turned to a chuckle, and he looked into Alexander’s eyes with a pitying mirth. “Nobody’s coming for you, you know. I’ve been playing nice so far, but one must stop playing at some point.” Dramatically, he stepped away and dusted nonexistent dirt from his clothes.

“I will take my leave now. Don’t worry, I’ll be back, but I do get oh so annoyed when people don’t give me what I want.”

With a dangerous look in his eyes, the man side-eyed Alexander. “You might want to rethink if this whole vow of silence thing you have going on is really in your best interest.” Then with a dramatic flourish, he left the cell, leaving Alex behind, his arms still pained, his throat dry, and his stomach pooling with an acidic dread.
