Chapter Text
The black umbrella shifted to the side just the slightest, just enough for Shu to see his target's back through the sniper gun's built-in scope.
"Target located. Preparing to shoot." Shu quickly said and he turned on the laser aim. Shu narrowed his eyes, tracing the laser onto the back of the oblivious target's head. The red dot looked almost innocent against the shiny locks of blonde hair.
Target locked. Shu thought to himself, and placed a long index finger on the trigger, just as he did countless times before. The sensation was hauntingly comforting to him, the smoothness of the trigger, the reassuring grip on the front handle, and the tiny cross on his target as he looked through the scope. Horrible isn't it, Shu laughed to himself in silence, how he enjoyed the adrenaline pulsing through his veins when he was about to do such a terrible, terrible deed.
Three...two...
Shu hesitated. He always did, every single time before counting to one. For the little child in his heart that he sealed off so long ago would leak out, begging him to not do it. Clutching at his heart just like how he used to cling onto his father's leg when little Shu caught him leaving for his long business trips.
Why do they have to die? What did they do to you.
But then another voice would swoop in, its sweet tones drowning out little Shu's tiny voice.
Where's your anger Shu? The voice asked.
And Shu would pull the trigger, silencing his target, as well as little Shu inside.
...one
His target moved.
The head turned, in a leisurely manner, right to the rooftop where Shu was positioned.
Shu's lips parted, his mouth drier than ever. Shu couldn't breathe, it felt like his heart was stuck in his throat. His body was trembling so hard that the sniper he was now holding onto even harder than before was making small clanking noises against the bricks.
A pair of wisteria petal eyes stared back at him, burning into Shu's own widening electric violets. A pair of eyes he hadn't seen in eleven years.
A pair of eyes he thought he would never see again.
No.
No no no no no no no no.
It can't be...
Shu couldn't believe the next word that came out of his mouth.
"Luca?" Shu breathed.
