"Rae?" Caspian whispered through the crack in the door leading to their shared bedroom "Rae, love? just open the door, please?" he kept his voice calm "No i don't want you getting sick aswell" came a shaky voiced reply it was evident that Rae was crying, "I've you wont get me sick, we burnt all the sculk remember?"
This whole thing began after Rae started to research the sculk that had appeared under the archives a couple days ago, but they had burnt it up at the bench after they both agreed it would be the best to keep everyone safe, Rae had started to get sick, but he thought it was just stress, witch undeniably did have its part to play.
Caspian had pointed out that Rae's eye was a little more green than usual, Rae had totally freaked out and shut down, so as an effort to keep the people he loves safe he locked himself in his bedroom, he thought he was turning into a monster.
"well if you wont open the door I will never leave this side of it" Caspian sat back against the door, Rae on the other side sat the same but he was crying, scared of what he will become, or what he was becoming.
They sat in silence until Caspian was sure Rae had stopped crying, "I love you Rae" he whispered, "how can you I'm turning into a monster" Rae sniffed wiping tears from his face "well we can't be sure of that" "my eyes changed colours" "so that doesn't make you a monster and besides I loved you before you got sick, it's not going to change anything"
Rae smiled softly, and whispered so quietly Caspian almost didn't hear "thank you Cas, I love you too", Caspian laughed a little, "what?" asked Rae oblivious to what he had just called his boyfriend, "did you just call me Cas" Rae was stunned "I um I no I um" he spluttered "sorry" he placed his head on his legs in embarrassment "No don't be sorry", Caspian said "it was cute" "well now I'm not going to call you that again" Rae said with a small yawn at the end, "I" Caspian paused as Rae yawned, "your tired try to get some rest" Caspian replied fighting the urge to argue about being called Cas.
Rae didn't even get up to go to the bed he just fell asleep on the floor next to the door.
"Rae? Caspian?" came a call from the door to the house, it was Aax he was home from fishing, presumably. Caspian almost fell running over to Aax to give him a hug, Caspian had broken down into tears.
"hey what's going on? are you ok? where's Rae?" Aax asked he was getting worried" sick, room, locked" Caspian spluttered between tears. "hey, shhh, its ok I'm here, its going to be ok" Aax put down the fish he was holding and picked up Caspian, who was trying not to cry. "You're tired, come on". Aax brought Caspian into his bedroom, they passed the shut door, this only made Aax more worried about what happened, they never close their bedroom door.
"here we go" Aax said putting Caspian down on the bed and putting a blanket over him, "get some rest" Aax said standing back up, "can, can you stay?" came a shaky whisper from the blanket, "yeah I can" Aax sighed with a slight smile "let me just put all the fish away, I'll be right back ok?" "ok".
Aax quickly put all the stacks of fish away, but by the time he had gotten back to his room, Caspian was asleep. Aax was about to go and sleep on one of the sofas. "Aax? where are you going?" came a tired whisper, Aax turned "no where" he sighed happily and got into the bed beside Caspian.
"I love you" came an almost silent whisper from Caspian unaware of what he had said, "I love you too" Aax replied, this seamed to surprise Caspian a bit, "what?!?" "you said I love you" "wha-, I, sorry" "shh, its ok, go to sleep you need rest" Aax said patting Caspian's head to get him to lie back down to sleep.
Aax could barely sleep he was too worried about what had happened to Caspian and Rae.
