Diana isn't a morning person.
Everyone always assumes that she likes to wake up early. But nothing could be further from the truth.
It isn't just that she often studies deep into the night and doesn't get enough sleep, but she loves the warm and cuddly confines of her bed.
It doesn't help that it is Winter and that it is cold in the dorms. Luna Nova has an awful heating system. It also doesn't help that it is Saturday and that they don’t have any lessons today.
But she is Diana Cavendish! She is nothing, if not disciplined! She always gets up early! She always starts the day before anyone else! She is always the first at breakfast! She has a reputation to uphold! She is the top student, and she has to give a good example.
She is determined. She has to get up. Curse the reputation and expectations of her.
She throws the blanket off of herself and starts to get up.
She doesn't get far.
A hand grabs her, keeping her from going further and pulling her back into the warmth and comfiness of the bed.
“Mhhhdontgetupyet...come back in, you let the warmth out”.
Her resolve shatters. Her discipline is reduced to dust. Who cares what others think of her. Who cares if she is the top student. Who cares if she sleeps in on a saturday.
She can’t resist a warm bed. And above all she can’t resist Akko.
With a happy sigh, Diana lets herself fall back into the bed, pulling the blanket over her and Akko, snuggling close, shutting out the cold world.
