DELUXE MORNING REPORT, JUNE 1ST 2127
Good morning, everyone, I'm Veronica Stephanopoulos, and this is the Deluxe Morning Report.
Last night, Layla Chilton held Abraham Kane at gunpoint for around eighteen minutes with the intention of killing him before he managed to call for security.
Chilton was surrounded by security, and in a last ditch effort, she triggered the fire alarm and shot the lights out. She and Mike Chilton escaped in the confusion, but it is unclear whether or not the two were in cahoots.
Before they escaped, Abraham Kane was shot in the hand, the bullet suspected to have come from a firearm belonging to Layla Chilton.
Kane is expected to make a full recovery by the end of summer, the injury being minor enough that he will need surgery, but he's not likely to need bone grafts.
