Chapter 1: C!Impostor Premise

Chapter Text

SAGAU but there's an impostor sitting on the throne and has all of Teyvat fooled until you (the player and supposed real Creator) descend from the clouds and make your grand unconscious entrance into the game

Plot twist! The impostor is actually a being specifically crafted to look exactly like the creator and was purposely planned to be seated on the throne by none other than Celestia.

Celestia wanted to make sure Teyvat was completely under their control and so- they made a fake version of you as a means of taking advantage of your absence. Of course, the celestials aren't doing this to anger you! No no, surely you would understand why they had to do this right? It was for the good of all Teyvat!

Surely you wouldn't be angered by this once you descend, right? :D - Celestia

The impostor, since the day they were created, had always been aware that they were a fake. They revered the true creator with all their heart! All of Celestia had made sure that the impostor knew everything about the creator, and made absolutely sure that they knew they were nothing but a puppet sitting on the throne, a placeholder.

Plot twist #2! Once Celestia finished creating the impostor, they sent them away to descend upon Teyvat. And once the impostor had gathered all the acolytes, they started to become less and less like a doll made for a purpose, and more like an actual person. The impostor came to know the wonders of being a human, having someone care for you, having a friend, having someone smile at you, it was everything they could've asked for and more!

So of course, once you descended, the impostor grew wary. They liked how things are, Teyvat was already happy under their reign! Surely they've proved themselves enough to show that they are more than capable to be the creator, right?

WRONG!

The impostor knew it was wrong to steal your place, especially now that you were here. They knew they were just a puppet. But they've made friends, they've made a life for themselves, everybody loved them now! No one ever sneered or scoffed at them like the ones in Celestia! Of course they weren't about to give up the throne!

And so under the ruling impostors hand, the hunt for the real Creator begun, unbeknownst to the hunters that they would be hunting the very being they worshipped.

Basically, I wanted to make an impostor au where you actually get to see the reason why there's an impostor in the first place and that they're not working alone. Plus I wanted an impostor that you can sympathize with and understand why they want the throne after having it for so long.

The impostor isn't meant to be evil, more of a morally grey character that was never supposed to occupy the throne forever but then they grew comfortable and pretty much threw away the original plan Celestia had for them.

Celestia itself loves the creator but I feel like they would be divided now because of the impostors actions. On one hand if they keep the impostor on the throne, they get to have Teyvat completely under their thumb. On the other hand, they really worship the true creator and want to go with the original plan.

Also, I almost never see Celestia have a crucial role in any SAGAU fics here (tho I do understand why it's not a popular idea) I wanted to make an au where they are essential to the plot and are the catalyst as to everything that's happening.
