Work Text:

Hanma's Pov

Closing my eyes, tears stream down my face as I read through some old texts between Kisaki and me.

"What a way to suffer..." I hiccupped, choking on sobs.

Little do you know how much pain I am in right now, Kisaki. Well you're in a coma, what do I expect? Of course you know nothing, you have been asleep!

It has been a year. A year since I last received a text from you, since I last teased you, since I last heard your voice. I'm starting to lose hope in you. Are you sure you can make it out alive this time? I know you're probably annoyed with me most of the time but I don't care! I'd literally do anything to see you alive.

My sleeps aren't as peaceful as before. Well... It has never been considering that there was always some evil schemes we would have to carry out or plan early in the morning. However, talking or texting you seems to make me... jovial? Now there's no more late texts from you about our discussions, or good nights texts.

Ever since that incident, I have only received calls from the hospital updating me about your current state followed by reading some random old texts. A bitter smile crawled onto my face, it has become a routine. I miss those old conversations of ours. I never appreciated them as much in the past as I do now...

While reading through the messages, I put on your broken spectacles, knowing damn well that I'm better off without them. It's a coping mechanism. Not the healthiest but it's doable. It reminds me that you're there, even though you're not really. You're just an unconscious and frail man stuck in the walls of your ward.

You probably find no use in me but I still can't bring myself to hate you, no matter the circumstance. You're a goddamn psychopath! However, something about you seems to ignite a flame of burning passion in me. For once, I found someone interesting in my life.

Why must that truck hit you? Why must god take away that 1 thing that keeps me going everyday? Why didn't you run away like you were supposed to? I followed all your plans meticulously but why can't you just run away? We've been doing this all the time. Running away from problems and conflicts was after all, our speciality. However, on that unfortunate day, you decided to be an idiot and not check the roads before crossing.

You have the freaking nerve to scold me for doing the slightest mistake while carrying out our plans but at least I'm safe. The plans also got carried out well enough despite some minor improvisions here and there. Now look at yourself, fractured limbs, missing limbs and unconscious since the truck hit you.

You look like a damn mummy, all wrapped up in those pearly white bandages. I would've laughed if you were still conscious but the sadness is overwhelming. Ironic isn't it? Out of all the people, I'm griefing over you. It's a waste of time and I'm aware of that.

Wiping my tears, I checked the clock.

23:59

I should hit the hay soon, tomorrow I'm seeing you again. Stay alive would ya? I would rather see you in an unconscious state. At least that's temporary unlike death. I then read one last message from Kisaki.

"I'd be fine"

So why are you now in this situation. Well clearly you aren't! You're unconscious in the hospital, wrapped in layers of bandages. Whatever... I should really go to sleep before my mind starts wondering off again. At this rate, Kazutora would be so pissed.

He offered to accompany me to the hospital to meet you. He told me to get ready by 7, but I doubt I could do that. My body naturally wakes up after 8 hours of sleep. I even snooze my phone alarm to get my precious 8 hours of sleep. Furthermore, even if I did oversleep, I'm sure Kazutora wouldn't mind...

After all, he has those 2 annoying boyfriends of his. Unlike me, he's taken. They could entertain him for the time being. I then removed the spectacles before turning off the lamp and charging my phone. Tomorrow was one of those days I had something to look forward to and I wouldn't want to waste it entirely on sleeping.

3rd Person's Pov

the next day

"Cringg!" Hanma's phone rang.

Grogily getting up, Hanma immediately picked up the phone. He pressed the snooze button before going back to sleep, irritating the figure who was watching him from afar. The figure then rushed towards Hanma's bed before pulling the blanket off the sleeping Hanma.

"It's 8 am sleepyhead, if you're not getting up I'm heading home!" Kazutora scolded.

"AH! How the frick did you get in here?!" Hanma questioned, a little too surprised to see the banana haired boy standing right infront of him with an annoyed expression.

"The window...." Kazutora stated, pointing to one which was widely opened.

Hanma sighed before making a mental note to lock his windows to prevent such things from happening again. Luckily this time it was just Kazutora, otherwise he would've been more screwed. Imagine beating up people first thing in the morning.

"Now go get ready you idiot. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you!" Kazutora added on before pushing Hanma into the bathroom, handing him a black t-shirt and black jeans on the way.

A moment later...

"Hey tora let's-" Hanma immediately cuts himself off upon hearing Kazutora talking to someone on the phone.

Hanma smirked, quietly making his way to Kazutora who was sitting on the couch. Peered from behind the couch, he saw Baji and Chifuyu on the screen. Looks like Kazutora was on a video call. Hanma sighed, that guy really loves his boyfriends a lot. He wished that he had a relationship like them but instead, with Kisaki.

However, he was aware of Kisaki's interest in Hinata, the girl who was his first friend. Kisaki had additionally told Hanma about his plans to propose to her. However, Kisaki was so ignorant. She's dating Takemichi... there's no way she'd accept him, so that's why Hanma's there. He was willing to become a substitute lover for Kisaki.

"Hey Hanma-san!" Chifuyu exclaimed upon seeing Hanma glaring at the screen behind Kazutora, snapping Hanma out of his thoughts.

"Hanma-kun?" Baji questioned back before staring at the screen, finding the lanky guy.

Hanma waved awkwardly, after all he had to do something. He couldn't just ignore Chifuyu's greeting, Kazutora and Baji would surely be furious at him.

"Finally done? Faster! We've got to go out soon!" Kazutora exclaimed before biding his boyfriends farewell and hanging up the call.

"I'm almost ready to head out, just wait for me outside my house!" Hanma responded, grabbing his motorcycle keys and putting on his shoes.

Kazutora hummed in response, putting on his shoes before unlocking the house with Hanma's key. Afterwards, he headed out of the house, waiting for Hanma. Hanma joined him shortly before the two started a race and raced towards the motorcycle. Passerbys looked at them puzzledly but they didn't care. For once Hanma was enjoying life instead of grieving over Kisaki. Hanma then jabbed the key into his motorcycle. Immediately, Kazutora and him got on before Hanma started up the engine, driving at a comfortable pace.

"So how's Bajifuyu?" Hanma asked, trying to create small talk so the atmosphere wasn't so tense.

"Hm fine I guess? Why? Jealous that you're still single." Kazutora mocked, receiving a smack from Hanma, making the motorcycle become unsteady which almost caused them to fall off it.

Silence engulfed them as Kazutora gave Hanma a death glare.

"You idiot... You want us in the hospital too?" Kazutora grumbled before smacking Hanma on the back.

Hanma chuckled, "It was a nice save wasn't it?"

Kazutora just glared at him, which Hanma saw through the side mirrors. They then bickered with each other during the whole trip to the hospital. Having company was fun, at least there was someone to distract Hanma's thoughts of Kisaki.

A moment later they reached the hospital. Hanma parked his motorcycle before heading towards the counter, saying the ward number he's visiting. Hanma visited Kisaki so many times that he had practically already know what to say and do at the counter. However, a nervous reaction was then seen from the counter person.

"You're visiting ward 99?" The counter asked, ensuring that she heard Hanma correctly.

"Yea why?" Hanma questioned back, confused over the unsure reaction.

"You can't go in yet, the patient has slipped into a cardiac arrest and a code blue was announced not too-" The counter woman got interrupted upon seeing Hanma dashing off, leaving Kazutora behind.

"I'm so sorry, he's just worried..." Kazutora apologised before chasing after Hanma.

Afterwards, he reached the ward Kisaki was in, only to see Hanma idly looking at Kisaki through the window of the ward. There was a sign at Kisaki's ward which read, "Do not enter". Kazutora then joined Hanma into watching the doctors and nurses trying to regulate Kisaki's heartbeat and save him. Kazutora looked at the heart monitor which was almost turning into a straight line. He swallowed dryly, looking over to Hanma.

Tears were streaming down Hanma's cheeks and somehow Hanma's still keeping that smile on his face.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

"Wake up Kisaki!" Hanma screamed, before punching a nearby wall, causing Kazutora and the paramedics in the ward to flinch.

Luckily with their steady hands, the paramedics didn't do anything wrong. If not, the chances of Kisaki dying would have skyrocketed. Kazutora sighed, looking at his friend slowly losing his mind.

"Hanma-san, what on earth is wrong-" Kazutora spoke before getting interrupted.

"It's all my fault, if he was with me he would still be alive!" Hanma croaked, sobbing even more harder.

Kazutora silenced himself, holding back words upon seeing the guilt in his friend. It reminded him of Baji. After he had stabbed Baji during their Valhalla fight 2 years back, Baji was immediately sent to the hospital while Kazutora was sent to the Juvenile. Thankfully Baji was alive, which shortened his sentence from 10 to 2 years. Ever since then, Kazutora couldn't face Baji due to the guilt within him.

He had literally attempted to murder his best friend, of course he didn't find himself worthy of ever talking to Baji ever again. However, on a faithful day, Baji approached him and clear up the awkwardness between them.

"I forgive you Tora... It wasn't your fault."

Kazutora couldn't help but cry at those words. He knew he had found a true friend who was selfless and loyal. Now he's beyond grateful that now he could call Baji, "his". All thanks to Baji, their relationship had blossomed. He hugged Hanma, containing his tears. He related to Hanma and he hoped Hanma could at least see Kisaki alive once again.

"Have faith in Kisaki, Baji was once in this situation and he's still alive. So what's stopping Kisaki? Yes it may be his second time getting into a cardiac arrest, but surely he would make it out alive. He did survive the other cardiac arrest so trust me on this." Kazutora reassured, pulling Hanma closer to him.

Hanma muttered out a muffled 'thank you' before allowing himself to sob onto Kazutora's shoulders. He was supposed to be the strong one, he was after all "Kabukicho's Reaper". However, all heroes and villains need their time to express their true feelings they've bottled up. For once Hanma was allowing himself to cry and release all the pain. He was grateful that Kazutora sacrificed his time to accompany him to meet Kisaki so that he wasn't lonely.

Afterwards Hanma stopped crying before faking a laugh, embarrassed about what had happened. Due to him, now Kazutora's right shoulder was damp with his tears. Sniffling, Hanma wiped his remaining tears that had stained his cheeks. He calmed down afterwards, pretending that none of this had ever happened. Not wanting to embarrass Hanma, Kazutora played along with the "act".

The two them then looked into the ward, seeing the panicked paramedics trying to nurse Kisaki to life. Watching Kisaki's chest rising and sinking harshly, Hanma started to lose hope. Kisaki's heart monitor was instead decreasing despite the efforts of the paramedics. He looked over to Kazutora, pleading for reassurance but this time Kazutora seemed as worried as he was. It was no use. He should just stop giving himself false hope. Seeing Kisaki alive was almost impossible and he should start accepting it.

It's time to let go..

He should start giving himself time to move on as mourning over Kisaki seemed like no use anymore. Kisaki could be dead soon and he was ready to accept that. He knew that he should let go of Kisaki and focus on moving on and healing himself. He's certain that Kisaki would want that too.

"Let's go Tora, the doctors are busy now. Standing here won't do much..." Hanma said dejectedly, walking away from the window of Kisaki's ward.

"Hanma-san..." Kazutora mumbled, sparing a last glance at Kisaki's ward before catching up to Hanma.

"Wish you all the best in the afterlife, Kisaki." Hanma mumbled as Kazutora caught up to him.

Afterwards the 2 walked out of the hospital and onto Hanma's motorcycle. They put on their helmets before Hanma revved the engine. The 2 then drove back to Hanma's apartment. The drive back was tense and silent. Kazutora was beyond puzzled, why was Hanma acting up so suddenly? What happened to all the faith he had in Kisaki? Had it all gone down the drain?

Questions spiralled in Kazutora's mind but he chose to remain silent. It was the best choice in their current situation. Hanma was hurt and he knew that very well so he shouldn't bother Hanma. Maybe once Hanma's back on track, maybe then he'll talk about this to him. But for now he should just keep quiet and not interfere with the situation. Hanma should know himself better than him.

Soon they reached Hanma's block. Getting off the motorcycle, they made their way to the elevator before pressing the button of Hanma's storey level. If the motorcycle trip back wasn't awkward enough, now it was even more awkward. Hanma fidgeted, wondering how to break the awkward silence between them. He then tapped Kazutora, cocking a smile.

"Hm?" Kazutora responded cluelessly.

"Thank you for everything..." Hanma thanked.

Kazutora smiled before muttering out a "no problem" before resuming to stare into space. Hanma chuckled softly, Kazutora was cute. Hanma then stared deeper at Kazutora, admiring his features. From Kazutora's long banana hair that fell just above his shoulders, to sharp jawline and soft lips. He felt his heart skip a beat. He finally felt affection ever since Kisaki's coma. He moved closer to Kazutora without realisation. It just felt so wrong, Kazutora was taken.

However, he felt so empty and couldn't bare it anymore. It was as if it would eat him whole if he did nothing. His mind turned hazy and in a split second, he pressed his lips against Kazutora's. Kazutora stood rooted to the ground, flabbergasted over the sudden action of Hanma's.

His first instinct was to use violence and that's what he did. Hanma flew to the other end of the elevator, landing with a loud 'thud'. Wiping his lips in disdain, Kazutora glared at Hanma in sheer anger. Hanma chuckled lowly, irritating Kazutora even more.

"Nice punch-" Hanma tried complimenting before earning a slap to his cheek.

"What is wrong with you? I'm taken! You're going too far!" Kazutora spat out, running his fingers through his hair frustratedly.

The elevator door opened shortly after and Kazutora dashed out, rushing down the stairs and to the ground level. Hanma forced a smile wiping the tears that dripped down his face. He had messed up and he knew it. Not only had he lost his sanity, he had also lost his best friend as well in just a matter of seconds.

"Little do you know how much I'm hurting Saki..." Hanma murmered, stepping out of the elevator.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Trudging to his home, Hanma felt overwhelming guilty. He's was so foolish, he knew better to not act on impulse. Now Kazutora would never forgive him and it was all his fault. He brought his finger up to his lips, stretching the sides til it formed a crooked smile which soon droop back into a frown. Hanma felt horrible, even a fake smile couldn't enlighten his mood.

Soon, wet and slimy tears stained his cheeks. He rubbed them away harshly, reddening his cheeks in the process. In his eyes, he looked stupid while crying. What was he doing? Kissing his best friend out of desperation of love? So unlike him! He should've known better.

He felt undoubtly empty but still he shouldn't do all this impulsive things. He should keep himself sane so that if Kisaki ever wakes up, he would be able to see him instead of getting stuck in the mental hospital or something. Hanma sighed before throwing himself on the couch.

Hanma then eyed his packet of ciggarates. He pondered. Should he smoke? Without further thoughts, Hanma grabbed a ciggarate and lit it up. The tip burned passionately, just like how passionate Hanma's love for Kisaki was. He inhaled the smoke before exhaling the smoke slowly. Hanma smiled to himself, he felt inevitably better. Soon, fond memories began playing in his mind. He began remembering about the times when Kisaki advised him to quit smoking.

"You smell like tobacco now. You sure you aren't turning into a ciggarate with the amount of ciggarates you smoke per day?" Kisaki hissed, covering his nose in the process.

"Come on, it's not that bad. You should try it." Hanma answered, teasingly shoving a ciggarate into Kisaki's face.

Kisaki then swatted the ciggarate out of Hanma's grasp, causing it to tumble to the ground. Hanma eyed Kisaki unhappily, a good ciggarate had gone to waste thanks to the shortie infront of him. Kisaki smirked, happy that the ciggarate was out of sight. He then pulled Hanma along as they continued their journey to Tenjiku's hideout. Hanma tried to keep his composure due to his palpitating and irregular heartbeat.

"See. If you'll listen to me, it'll bring you benefits. Now you look more fresh." Kisaki stated, smiling in the process.

Hanma's heart rate went even more quicker and he smiled wholeheartedly at the compliment.

Soon a sharp sound jolted Hanma out his thoughts. He looked around, wondering where that annoying sound was coming from. He then looked onto the table, watching his phone vibrating uncontrollably. Hanma sighed, flipping the cover of the phone and accepting the call.

"Hello?" Hanma greeted, annoyance visible in his tone.

He checked the time, it was 3 pm.

"Hello, you're Shuji Hanma right?" A younger sounding male answered back.

"Look if it's a scam, I'm hanging up right now..." Hanma threatened, almost hanging up the call in annoyance.

Scammers were truly annoying. Scamming people of out their property and risking yourself into prison or a few thousand dollar fine seemed lame in Hanma's opinion.

"WAIT-" The younger sounding male screamed by accident, breaking his voice in the process.

Hamma chuckled as he  heard the male clearing up his throat.

"Sorry, Hanma-san but I'm calling to let you know that Tetta is awake-" The latter announced, shocking Hanma to the brim.

"Hanma-san?" The latter questioned before getting abruptly hung up on.

Kisaki's really awake and alive? No that can't be...

Hanma's thoughts were spiralled in his mind. For a year, he has never heard a word from Kisaki nor received a text, and suddenly Kisaki's alive? Hanma couldn't believe it. He has been waiting for this day to come, but instead of being in the sheer happiness he expected himself to be in, he's mostly in disbelief.
Finally life had some thrill. Soon he heard his phone vibrating again.

1 text from Kisaki

Was he seeing it right? Kisaki's really texting him again after a year? Hanma teared up, Kisaki's really back. He rushed out of his home, making a beeline to his motorcycle, driving off full speed. He didn't care about the occasional honks he received from the cars he sped by, all he wanted to do was to see Kisaki.

After he reached the hospital, his feet carried him to Kisaki's ward. It was a muscle memory, he had been going there everyday for a year, of course he remembers where Kisaki's at. He stares through the window, the exact window that brought him pain a while back. But now, it was the window to his happiness. There Kisaki was, sitting up on his bed, furtively texting people. Tears streamed down his cheeks, Kisaki's really back in his life.

"Little do you know how long I've been waiting for this day to come..." Hanma muttered incoherently under his breath as he went into Kisaki's ward.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Stepping into the ward, Hanma felt a pair of eyes staring intensely at him.

"Long time no see Hanma..." Kisaki said whilst smiling.

Hanma turned his gaze to the latter that was talking to him. Tears welled up in his eyes, Kisaki was really alive. Kisaki chuckled finding Hanma an amusement. He expected more than crying from Hanma. Kisaki opened his arms, although one of them was bandaged, ready to receive a hug. In a blink of an eye, Hanma engulfed himself in the hug, caressing Kisaki's back. He finally felt back in warmth and peace.

The empty feeling haunting him for the whole year had also miraculously subsided. Tears streamed down Hanma's cheeks uncontrollably. Afterwards, Kisaki wiped his tears dry, bringing back memories from where Hanma was so desperate to see Kisaki awake. And now Kisaki really was awake.

"Thank you for complying to my wish..." Hanma mentally thanked.

They pulled away a moment later only to see 3 figures staring at them intently. Hanma felt as if his life had been sucked out of him.

Kazutora

He saw Kazutora, linking arms with Chifuyu and Baji. Hanma couldn't stay there any longer, he just couldn't face Kazutora for now. Especially after what had happened the previous day. He got up from Kisaki's bed, eyeing the ground as he tried making his way out. However, he then felt his wrist harshly being pulled back. He knew what was in store for him.

Baji...

Hanma tried squirming out of Baji's grip but Baji was too strong. Instead of the grip loosening, it became tighter. Hanma chuckled nervously before stepping on Baji's shoe with all his might but Baji didn't budge. Hanma sighed in defeat, eyeing Baji, prepared for a punch to be landed next to his somehow healed bruise. He braced for impact, shutting his eyes as tightly as he could as he faced to the other side of the ward.

"If you're gonna punch me then do it quick, I don't have all day..." Hanma said, dejectedly.

"Huh?" Baji responded, quizzically.

He wasn't expecting Hanma to ask him to punch him. That was very unlike Hanma.

"What? I know I kissed Ka-"

"YOU KISSED KAZUTORA?" Baji interupted.

The anger flowed through Baji's body, eyeing on his victim menacingly.

"What the heck Hanma-san!" Chifuyu screamed in anger, threatening to punch Hanma as well.

Well looks like Hanma angered not 1 but 2 of Kazutora's boyfriends at the same time. They both looked like they were ready to beat Hanma til he never saw the light. Baji raised a fist, almost landing a punch on Hanma when all of a sudden, it was deflected. Kazutora kicked Baji's hand away, preventing it from hitting Hanma and on top of that, releasing Hanma from the deathly grip.

"Tora would you like to get hit too?" Baji threatened, cracking his knuckles.

"Baji stop!" Kazutora retorted.

"Tora why are you protecting that idiot?" Chifuyu asked furiously.

"Just stop! He didn't do it on purpose, he was just feeling a lack of love. Imagine seeing me in a coma for a year, you'd go insane too! Besides he kissed me absent mindedly, it wasn't on purpose. I've even landed a punch on him, by now he should've learnt his lesson!" Kazutora explained, silencing everyone in the room.

Kazutora then sighed, before walking out of the ward, trying to get some fresh air. Hanma felt touched for being protected, Kazutora was indeed a real friend. Despite almost getting punch by his own boyfriend, Kazutora still protected Hanma. Tears welled up in Hanma's eyes, before saying, "Thank you, I'm really sorry..."

With a dangle of his earring, Kazutora smiled weakly before turning his back on them and walking out of the ward. Hanma then bowed towards Chifuyu and Baji, sincerely apologising to them as well. Both remained silent and made their ways out of the ward, trying to find the 3rd person in their relationship. If 1 of them wasn't there, it wouldn't be considered a relationship. After they all left, Hanma got up from his bowing position and almost made his way out too when he heard a loud breathy laughter from the patient of the ward.

"What?" Hanma questioned.

"You made a whole ass scene out of them, and you don't consider that amusing?" Kisaki answered, laughing in tears.

Kisaki calmed down after a while before wiping his tears.

"Sit here." Kisaki ordered, patting at the free space he made for Hanma on the hospital bed.

Hanma followed his order, sitting at the spot without any hesitations. He would obey any orders Kisaki gave and that was mildly a hard one. Kisaki then moved close to Hanma til there was only a few inches between their faces. Hanma's brain short circuited, astonished at the sudden closeness. In a flash of light, Hanma felt something on his lips, another pair of lips was on his. Specifically cracked and dried ones. It was Kisaki's lips on his.

Hanma tried pulling back but Kisaki's hand snaked past his neck, securing Hanma onto his lips. Without any hesitations, Hanma kissed back. If that was what Kisaki wanted he would gladly do it. Their lips moved in a sync, not wanting to let go. Hanma felt butterflies in his stomach, he felt love again.

A deep red blush crept onto his face as the kiss deepened, with Kisaki's tongue sliding into his mouth. Their tongues interlocked and twisted before the sounds of teeth clashing was heard. This was all too good to be true, Kisaki was really doing this and it wasn't a dream. Hanma was really kissing the love of his life. A moment later, they broke the kiss due to the lack of air. The 2 panted harshly as they breathed in the cool hospital air. Kisaki then brought Hanma's forehead towards his.

"Why so sudden Kisaki?" Hanma questioned, still in disbelief about what had happened.

"Little do you know how much I love you Shuji Hanma." Kisaki confessed, spilling out tthe hidden feelings he had for Hanma which he ignored.

Tears streamed down Hanma's face, he was too jubilant. He couldn't thank Kisaki enough for reciprocating his feelings back. He then saw Kazutora with his 2 boyfriends, happily watching Kisaki and him intently from the door of the ward.

"As long as you're happy I'm happy..." Kazutora reassured, happy for his friend who found love again.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

"Here's your food Shuji..." the policeman announced, unlocking the small opening of Hanma's cell.

"Thanks loser~" Hanma teased, accepting the food.

Rice and fish again?

He then gobbled down his food, before resuming to vandalise the wall with his fingernail by scratching and craving out words. He was fantising a story of him and Kisaki, writing an alternate and happier ending of what could've happened if Kisaki survived the accident.

"As long as you're happy I'm happy..." Kazutora reassured, happy for his friend who found love again.

He giggled to himself, reading the well carved story on the depressing juvie wall. He was proud of himself for creating such a masterpiece although only he could read it. He then slumped down onto the bed, done with the story. Pride swell in his heart. After 3 painstaking days, he was finished.

Happy endings didn't exist in his life, after Kisaki's death, he had gone insane and became a serial killer. All his victims were killed the same way, all their hearts would be cut out of their bodies and somewhere in the crime scene, there would be a handwritten message "I love you" in the victim's blood.

Those were the last words Kisaki had said to Hanma before dying. All the regrets of not confessing is still engraved in Hanma despite all these years. It has been 8 years since Kisaki's death. If Kisaki was alive, he would have been an adult. But too bad, he was dead.

Hanma on the other hand had already been jailed for 5 years after 2 years of his murder spree. No one could stop him. Kazutora had his own juvie sentence to pay since Baji had died during Bloody Halloween. If it wasn't for Kokonoi trying to bail Hanma out, Hanma would've been on death row. Thanks to Kokonoi, he only had 5 more years til he was released to the public.

Kokonoi was a good friend. Hanma had met him in Tenjiku. They instantly clicked after sharing their experiences with "1 sided love" after some drinks. In conclusion, they both realised that they were afraid of confession, thus leaving them in those situations. In the end, Kokonoi did get into a relationship as Inui had the guts to confess.

They are now taking over Draken's motorcycle shop, D&D Motors, as an accountant and a vehicle expert. Heck, Inui even knows how to paint cars and repair it. However, after Hanma became a murder, Kokonoi began drifting away from Hanma, claiming to not want be suspected as an alibi if Hanma had gotten caught. Being a suspected alibi for Inui years back was enough for Kokonoi.

"Lights out!" A policeman announced before shutting the lights and exiting the prison area.

"Bullseye..." Hanma thought, ready to commence his escape.

Staying in that enclosed area behind bars bore Hanma to the core. He couldn't stand it anymore! He grabbed a key from under his bed pillow before grasing his skin, enough for blood to seep out of the wound. He then wrote on the wall beside his fan fiction, "remember me saki", before unlocking the jail door successfully.

A few days ago Kokonoi had helped him slip in the key to his jail door after disguising as a policeman. Furthermore since Kokonoi looked hot, no one dared questioned about his sudden appearance and instead enjoyed the time he was there.

Hanma then rushed towards the stairs, only to not see Kokonoi there. Darn it! Where was he? Did Kokonoi forget about their plan of waiting at that staircase?

"Hands up!" A policeman yelled, alerting Hanma.

Hanma sighed in defeat, cursing under his breath. He smiled smugly, looking at the policeman coming closer to him with a pair of handcuffs and a taser. Hanma then eyed the staircase, it was wide open. It was either he jumped down and died (as his cell was on the 7th level) or get a longer jail sentence for escaping.

"Sorry Kokonoi..." Hanma mentally apologised before climbing onto the railings of the staircase and falling backwards.

"Get down right now-" The policeman tried yelling before watching Hanma fall down onto the ground floor.

A loud thud was then heard alerting the other inmates and policemen patrolling the jail area. Hanma giggled while feeling a sharp pain in and on his head. He didn't know where the pain was specifically. All he felt was his head throbbing. He wiped his forehead only to see the scarlet blood staining his fingers.

He then started hallucinating, before realising that he was starting to lose consciousness. I guess this was it, he was gonna die right that instant and no one could change the fact that he was dying. After years and years of mourning over Kisaki, finally he was going to reunite with him again. He screamed, "see you Kisaki" before the whole world turned pitched black around him.

"Hanma, you idiot! Why did you do this? I'm sorry..." He heard a muffled wail, which he assumed was from Kokonoi before he lost his sense of hearing.

The sirens blared around him, but they were all white noises to Hanma. He couldn't hear things properly. The loudest sound was his thoughts. Hanma then feel himself losing contact with his body. He then looked around as a spirit and saw Kokonoi crying over his dead body, holding it close to him.

Hanma wasn't gonna lie, he would definitely miss Kokonoi and he hopes for the best for him and Inui. However, his main focus was on Kisaki. They were finally reuniting after 8 years. Hanma then woke up in a place full of birds chirping and tranquil waters. Hanma looked around, shocked about the area he was in.

He was never expecting paradise, he was expecting burning flames and dreadfulness. Then, a shorter figure with honey blonde hair, grey eyes and spectacles, caught his attention. The guy was laughing and talking with another male who had white hair, purple eyes and darker skin.

Both males looked awfully familiar to Hanma but he couldn't wrap his mind on who these people were. They all look so good looking and matured unlike Hanma. Hanma hasn't re-dyed his hair in years, it looked like a bleach mess.

Thankfully, he didn't grow any hair, which meant he didn't have any shaving issues. After a while, the spectacled guy locked eye contact with Hanma, causing Hanma to immediately look away in embarrassment. Imagine being caught staring. Suddenly Hanma felt a tap on his shoulder. Flinching, he looked up and saw the spectacled guy from earlier.

"Nice to see you again after all these years." Kisaki stated, ruffling Hanma's hair with a soft smile.

That voice. Hanma now knew who that was.

"K-kisaki!" Hanma yelled, rushing to engulf Kisaki into a hug.

Kisaki rubbed Hanma's back, happy to finally reunite with his partner in crime. Izana watched them afar, smiling to himself. He was elated and proud of Kisaki for finally reuniting with Hanma. Kisaki and him had resolved their problems and became friends since they got to paradise.
Now it was his turn to wait for Kakucho's arrival.

"Little do you know how long I've been waiting for this moment to come..." Kisaki muttered.

With teary eyes, Hanma looked down and connected his lips with Kisaki. Finally after years of struggle and loneliness, Hanma had finally found his happiness and reunited with Kisaki. Little do you know how happy the pair were.
