Chapter 1: Origin

Chapter Text

Stray Army

Izuku knew when he became a “not-so-vigilante" he would enter into a large array of conflicts, where he would be ready to throw his life away to save another. He knew he would be farther outcasted by society more than he already was, and left alone to either die or thrive in his new environment. He did not expect to be noticed however, for his not-so-vigilante deeds. Sure, the common people knew him by his signature bunny costume, that he made himself, but he truly couldn’t help but fanboy at the fact he was followed around by THE ERASERHEAD! Sure, he was trying to arrest Izuku and unknowingly was doing it illegally, but hey it's not like eraser knew of his status.

Izuku the ever so dashing not-so-vigilante he was, did gain the backing of the people he saved, like many real vigilantes. But the thing that set him apart other than his lack of quirk was his accidentally created army.

Okay that sounds a lot worse than what the army truly was.

The army, or more technically the large number of stray cats that roam the city, have imprinted onto Izuku since starting his not-so-vigilante career choice. Which would be from 3-4 months ago to now. Izuku truly didn’t mean to start the army, but like any insane teenager that fights crime and has a savior complex, he couldn’t just do nothing! The army started small, one or two kittens, maybe a mom cat needed help, this eventually led to the now 200 cats that the army came to be.

The army is very attached to Izuku, in all reality it makes sense. Most of the army knew him at birth as their gentle, green protector. Also, he was fairly certain at least a few of the cats had some type of quirks. They always seemed to group together based on color. They also knew his routine, and more times than he could count fallowed him in his nightly adventures, or tried to mimic him while training.

The army were really his only companions in the harsh world, sure there was Erasure head but he was an authority figure Izuku admired but couldn’t trust. They gave him hope, as he gave them care. It was a cycle that worked, and kept him stable. He did teach the army tricks, like to sit, and stay out of harm's way, when he patrolled, and they brought gifts to him when he was working. Small metal, ropes, and old clothes out of trash cans, that helped him continue on making weapons, or shelter. The baby's brough leaves however but Izuku cherished them to comical degrees, just to make them feel loved, like a mother to her toddler's mud pie. He’s sure he saw some of the cats smirking at him and his unhinged shenanigans. But at least he had a family, even if they weren't human.
