As the years go by and seasons change,
The blooms that stand tall shall wither and die.
We will grow old and our lives rearrange,
And our bones ache, another weary sigh.
The pounds pile on, ever more ailments gained;
Another line here, another hair grey.
Whilst feverish rush may have ebbed and waned,
Know that I love you still in ev’ry way.
Some days it seems that the mirror’s unkind,
And the beauty of youth has waved goodbye.
But together we stand in heart and mind,
As sure as the moon and sun in the sky.
And as the sands of time do drift away,
Know that I love you more each passing day.
