Work Text:

To the absolute delight of the students of Namimori Middle School, the new English teacher was, for the lack of a better word, stunning.

The only ones wary about this new development were Tsuna, Gokudera and Yamamoto, currently sitting in their classroom and staring at the flustered blond teacher that had just walked in. Dino had obviously stumbled into nothing and almost fell face first on the floor, but he managed to keep himself upright and was now introducing himself to the class.

Tsuna held himself back from asking if the man was ok, he didn't need to attract unnecessary attention to himself and the other by acting friendly with him, and he could see that Yamamoto and Gokudera shared the same sentiment. In fact, Yamamoto didn't look concerned in the slightest, Tsuna noticed, just amused and curious to some extent, and the angry looks Gokudera was sending his way only made him laugh more.

"I don't really know what he's doing here, but it could be fun!" Was what Yamamoto had told him in turn and Gokudera could only hold on to his desk to keep himself from jumping at his neck.

Meanwhile, the whispers amongst the girls became more and more noticeable with the passing minutes, louder, barely concealed from whoever was sitting around them. "He's so handsome", "He has such an approachable personality", and "His hair is pretty" were some of the comments that started being uttered, all followed by dreamy sighs, and the entire situation made Tsuna's head spin. If only they knew better…

Even some of the guys had to relent and admit that maybe there was something to this English teacher after glancing at the window and seeing his car on the school's parking lot; an Italian model, brand new and way above the paycheck of any teacher they knew. The man leaning against it wearing a pristine suit couldn't be anything other than a private driver, and half the classroom whistled at the pure display of wealthiness.

The collective marveling and little squeals and expressions of delight didn't last long, however, as they were soon interrupted by a loud thud. Everyone turned their heads to the door, just in time to see it being abruptly opened by an enraged Disciplinary Committee leader, tonfas readily in hand.

They should've seen it coming, they thought to themselves, sullenly. Surely a teacher like that would attract the suspicious eyes of Hibari.

"So this is where you were, huh? I'll bite you to death!" Hibari growled and rushed towards Dino, intent on keeping the peace of Namimori's school from being disturbed by the man's presence any longer.

Dino was caught by surprise much like his new students and barely managed to dodge the weapons that were aimed directly at him. He ducked to the side, knocking the books that were atop his desk to the floor, and saw the tonfas hit the blackboard instead, causing a big dent in it.

As expected, Hibari was agile and very precise, but his temper was unpredictable. He hastily decided it was best not to fight back for now, he didn't want anyone to get hurt. Besides, he didn't have his whip at the moment and going against such furious attacks barehanded didn't seem like a particularly good idea.

Regardless, Hibari didn't seem like he was going to put a stop to his blows any time soon and Dino was quick to realize there wasn't much room for him to keep dodging them without risking the safety of the other students or the integrity of school properties. For a split second, he considered running up to the roof of the school, but dragging this pointless fight for several more minutes wasn't a prospect appealing enough for him (although he could bet it was the exact opposite for Hibari).

Keeping his cool and concentrating on what he was about to do, he waited until Hibari attacked him again and, at the right moment, firmly held his arms up after swiftly moving to the side, getting ahold of the tonfas and successfully preventing the two metal weapons from striking him.

While witnessing the altercation no one else in the room dared move a muscle, let alone make any kind of noise. Everyone knew the Disciplinary Committee leader very well, he was scary, and by the looks of it, and if the car hadn't been indication enough, there definitely was something going on with the new English teacher as well.

Tsuna, at the brink of despair, was practically in tears and halfway out of his seat. They were going to kill each other! And even worse, they were probably going to get him involved in their mess somehow and end up killing him too!

Yamamoto, with his usual good humor and lack of sense of danger, turned to Gokudera and laughed openly at the scene, "These two really know how to have fun, hahaha!"

Gokudera grunted at the comment, wondering what was wrong with Dino, Hibari and Yamamoto. He didn't have the slightest interest in these idiots' ridiculous bickering and the frown on his face should be more than enough to convey that. Why couldn't Dino and Hibari solve their problems elsewhere? A room would be just great, he scoffed. And in Italy, preferably, far away from him and his precious Juudaime.

Having Dino holding onto his tonfas made Hibari stop in his tracks in a burst of sudden clarity and he took the opportunity to observe everything around him. He didn't appreciate all those herbivores staring at him and Dino like the two of them were about to blow up the school or something of the sorts. That would be, at the very least, something completely unimaginable to happen. As an admirer of the wonderful city of Namimori, Hibari Kyoya would never let that building suffer a single scratch. On the other hand, he didn't care nearly as much about making Dino look like a fool in front of his "students". In fact, he drew great pleasure from it. But if it could cause his image as the leader of the Disciplinary Committee to be tarnished, he pondered, then he'd reluctantly rethink his approach and take a step back.

Freeing his weapons and himself from the Italian's arms, Hibari let out an irritated hum and headed for the door. Before he could open it, Dino's melodious voice reached his ears:

"Nee, Kyoya, could you tell me at what time I'll be lecturing you? I can't understand anything that's written on this paper the principal gave me and I can't wait to relive our teacher and student days… I really miss our private lessons."

The words were finished with a sly smile and as soon as they left Dino's mouth a tonfa flew past his face, digging into the wall behind him. The door was slammed shut right after and the sound of Hibari's footsteps quickly disappeared down the hallway, leaving everyone gaping at the scene.

"To hell with not damaging this building," Hibari grumbled to himself, fighting the blush that was threatening to spread over his cheeks while he marched to the Disciplinary Committee room, "I can't wait to rip that smile off of that idiot's face."
