So when he comes eye to eye with a big, bad wolf, it's not a surprise that he's scared shitless.

Or

Biology student Yoongi finds out that werewolves really exist and not all of them are as bad as everyone says they are.

Chapter Text

Yoongi turned his head in a different direction for a second. For a mere second! But when he snapped his head back to face the front, he was met with low growls and snarls.
And that's how Yoongi knew;
he had royally fucked up.

Yoongi had no idea how his little biology experiment in the woods, researching how plants survive the cold winters, resulted in him stumbling too close to a wolf den. He had a feeling he was a goner because his chances of escaping a wolf's den were way too small. No wolf would choose to keep him alive after intruding, because he had stupidly shown himself as a threat.

But now that Yoongi was looking at the two wolves, he knew he was fucked.
The wolves were much bigger than what he had studied about. Yoongi was a biology student, he knew wolves aren't usually heavier than a hundred pounds but these...this big brown wolf and the slightly smaller white wolf...they looked like they weighed so much more.
As a biology student, Yoongi also knew he should make himself as big as possible and "do not. Look. Into. Their eyes." Yoongi chanted to himself like a mantra and dropped his gaze onto the ground, so he could see the wolves just slightly. Keeping eye contact would mean challenging them and Yoongi can't take on two wolves! Damn it, he can't even take on one.
He knew the chances of him escaping were low, but he had to at least try.

So Yoongi did what he had learned; he straightened up, still keeping his eyes low, and shouted.

"Leave me alone!" He screamed, but his voice was slightly shaky. The creatures didn't even flinch.

"I'm not here to hurt you!" He yelled again, it almost sounding like a plead.
There were more snarls and growls exchanged between the animals. Yoongi knew what that was, too, yes. That's how they communicate. Yoongi just hoped they're not telling each other how delicious his pathetic ass looked.

Yeah, Yoongi needed at least a little bit of confidence even before his death.

"Please! I'm not here to fight! Leave me alone!" He yelled at the top of his lungs and something happened.

Min Yoongi was not expecting this. He did not wake up today thinking he'd come face to face with two huge wolves. But here he was, watching as the two creatures ran away.

They didn't look particularly scared. This isn't how wolves usually act. But, oh well, Yoongi wasn't gonna complain. He took what he got and quickly turned around before bolting–bolting out of this damned forest and into his house as fast as he could.

Yoongi didn't live far away from the forest, just a mile or two away. His town was really small and he wasn't the only one living near the forest. No, there was a whole neighborhood. The student had always liked living here–it was quiet and peaceful and the forest seemed so pretty and mystical...

But now it didn't and even a warm shower and a good night's sleep couldn't shake off the fear and tension Yoongi kept feeling.

He just hoped he wouldn't end up in the forest again any time soon...

And there he was. Min Yoongi. Running through the forest.

Again.

But this time, instead of running out of the forest, he was running deeper into it. Not by choice, of course. No.
He was being chased.

There was a guy with a knife running after him and Yoongi cursed. Of course, just his luck. He just had to feel confident today and defend someone. And of course, it would bite him back in the ass afterward.

He had no idea what this guy's problem was, he had just started threatening Yoongi with a knife, and when Yoongi refused to do anything he said, he started chasing him. And now Yoongi was running through the woods again.

The scenery seemed...familiar, and subconsciously Yoongi knew that his legs were carrying him towards the wolf den again. Why? He had no idea, but maybe it was the mentality of–if he has to die, he'll drag the jerk with the knife with him straight to hell.

Once again, Yoongi turning his head in a different direction proved to be the death of him, as he tripped over God knows what, a branch or a rock, probably, and fell on his knees, panting as he tried to scurry away from the guy, but he had already caught up and Yoongi felt a sharp, hot pain spread through his thigh, making him gasp.

The tall, scruffy-looking male had stabbed him. He dared to stab him.

"That's why you shouldn't put your nose where it doesn't belong in, rat." The man spat and Yoongi groaned. Fuck, he was bleeding. This will probably attract not only wolves but all kinds of creatures and the worst creature of them all–an infection.

Yoongi couldn't control himself as he kicked the jerk and the guy stumbled back, giving Yoongi just enough time to crawl behind a big tree stump. Would the guy find him easily here? Yeah, but Yoongi was desperate.

As Yoongi seated himself behind the tree stump, complimented by some bushes, he heard growling again. And Yoongi froze.

As he looked around again, he saw that he was in the den once again and the two wolves he had come across yesterday were glaring, huffing, and puffing, their fangs revealed. But this time, the rude asshole who stabbed him was there too and the wolves seemed particularly interested in him. They were glaring at him, their gazes going from Yoongi to the jerk constantly. Yoongi knew they both were dead meat, he just hoped the death wouldn't be too painful.

There was no point in avoiding eye contact now. He was bleeding and looked small in the wolve's eyes, he couldn't look more like prey and Yoongi shivered at the thought.

He was facing his death.

With a trembling hand, Yoongi applied pressure onto his bleeding wound and shut his eyes, only feeling the blood trickle down his hand.

"Please, let it be quick. Please." He whispered to himself and then he heard a growl.

The air swooshed and there was a scream that resonated throughout the whole forest.

But it wasn't Yoongi's. It was that other guy's.

Yoongi was scared to open his eyes, but he did so non the less, gasping as he was met face to face with the big brown wolf. It seemed to be the alpha since it was bigger and stood in front of all the wolves that had come to check the scene out.
The alpha was also right in front of his face and Yoongi lowered his eyes in a sense of respect and fear. His teeth worried his bottom lip. Yoongi was starting to feel that tight knot of panic slowly unravel in his chest, making his whole body shake.

The alpha said something to the other wolves in the form of a snarl and suddenly a white, smaller wolf was approaching him and digging its's teeth into Yoongi's already bleeding thigh.

And Yoongi screamed. The pain was so white-hot and piercing, that Yoongi thought–he might pass out.
He didn't know if the wolf had bitten him or was just gently touching him, by this point any pressure on his wounded thigh hurt.

And suddenly the wolf started dragging him by his thigh, further and further into the den and Yoongi was crying, his face in the snow right before the world turned black.
