Chapter Text
There was a cliff at the nearing of the mountain, filled with blooming flowers bringing their happy and pleasant scents into the air, growing from the dirt and grass below their sweet petals.
There among the flowers laid a boy, blending in with the flowers perfectly with his platinum blond hair and his red streak, merging with the daisies around his head and feet. He gently raised his arm, stretching it towards the sky in a quick motion. The stars laid between his fingers, assisting the moon with their shining light decorating the sky beautifully.
“This world shows but a broken sky, though I suppose broken things can bring beauty to the naked eye.” The boy spoke with a fond smile growing across his face, bringing his arm back below his head, propping it as a pillow.
“Hey, do you speak in riddles and poems? You speak in a strange and foreign tongue.” A boy with blond hair props himself next to the platinum hair boy.
“I’m Tomo. What’s your name? What brings you here? What did you mean by your previous words?” And–“
“My name is Kazuha,” The boy called Kazuha quickly cut off the stranger before he could inquire anything else. “I have heard of this cliff before, so I decided to visit.” Kazuha had left out the last question unanswered.
“Nice to meet you, Kazuha! Is the sky not to your liking? It doesn’t look broken to me. Though, you did mention it’s beautiful.” Tomo forms a confused expression in his face. Though, despite his expression, his tone remains enthusiastic and cheerful.
“I heard before the sky is not real. I’m not sure, however, if this fact is true. It’s but a complex theory.” Kazuha carefully explained, proceeding to take a peony into his hands to fiddle with as he speaks to this new found stranger. Well, Tomo.
“I’m a traveler, you see. This cliff was just the next adventure I decided to have. Are you too as well a traveler?” The boy shifted to his side, facing Kazuha so he could see the boys face. By this, kazuha had also shifted to his side to face Tomo.
A second passed. Then five, then ten. Kazuha stared at the boy’s features, and so did Tomo.
Tomo had wonderful purple eyes that shined as bright as the stars above, while Kazuha had crimson colored eyes. Tomo had blond hair, while Kazuha’s was platinum blond. The boy Tomo had a scar that ran through his nose, while Kazuha seemed to have smooth like skin.
“Like what you see?” Tomo decided to break the silence. In a not-so-perfect way. He smirked, seeing Kazuha’s startled expression. Kazuha admits the boy has quite a handsome complex, with this beautiful features and muscular body.
“I’m a traveler.” Kazuha abruptly and quickly answers, almost inaudible. “Yes, I’m a traveler.” Kazuha tries again in a calmer demeanor.
Tomo chuckles, causing Kazuha to grumble in response. “I like this place so far. It’s very calming, isn’t it? I feel at peace.”
“Peace…” Kazuha says fondly, as if he’s recalling a newfound memory that brings him joy and happiness. He watches Kazuha’s face light up, causing Tomo to mentally note he found a new source of light beside the moon and the stars. Suddenly, he is reminded of something.
“Your hair reminds me of the solitary moon that lights the night above,” Tomo says not-so discretely. Kazuha, flushed, respondes with:
“I don’t think the moon is solitary at all. It has the stars to accompany him. And, your eyes seem to reflect the stars; they’re beautiful.” Tomo stood in silence, seeking the words to respond with, but to his dismay he could not find any. Kazuha takes this as a perfect chance to add more.
“Peace stands in your eyes. I find it comforting.” Kazuha smiles, giving an innocent and honest look towards Tomo. Tomo loses his stand once more, and all he is able to blurt out is:
“So, uh, how about being travel buddies?”
“Travel buddies?”
“Yes! Like, we travel together. Or is it too soon?”
Kazuha ponders for a moment. Then, he takes a deep breath before answering, “Too soon? I don’t think so. You’re quite fun to be around with. I don’t mind the company.” A smile grows across Kazuha’s face.
Quite contagious, look away when he smiles. Tomo mentally notes.
“I hope you don’t mind having a third traveling partner?” Before Kazuha could put his inquiry, Tomo sits in the grass and brings out a white-furred cat out of his robes covering his chest.
“Oh my god,” Is all Kazuha could muster to say in the moment. “You have a cat.” He states matter-of-factly.
“Really? I thought it was a lizard!” Tomo says sarcastically but soon chuckles. Kazuha sits in the grass along with Tomo and carefully brings out his arm towards the cat. Abruptly, he snatches his arm back to him.
“Can I touch it?” He mutters quietly, his face flushed out of embarrassment. In this current situation, Tomo notices a resemblance in Kazuha. Yes, his cat and Kazuha look very much alike!
“I’ll think about it.” Tomo forms a thinking face, pretending to debate whether Kazuha should touch his cat or not. He looks back at the clueless boy, noticing his embarrassment in his eyes. That brings a smile and a laugh out of Tomo, causing Kazuha to be even more embarrassed.
“I’m kidding!” Tomo exclaims before he could any further embarrass the poor boy. “Of course you can touch her. Her name is Tama.” He smiles.
“Ah, thank you.” Kazuha smiles to himself secretly, enjoying the time he gets to pet Tama. Tama easily gives in within Kazuha’s touches, inclining her head into his hand as if melting to it.
“Tama is not usually interested in humans, but you seem to be different. Perhaps she likes your comforting and peaceful aura?”
“Am I comforting?” Kazuha tilts his head.
“Your presence is very peaceful.” Tomo nods his head.
Kazuha chuckles, picking a daisy from the dirt. “Even with a Kamera, you could never capture the true beauty of a flower. I think this applies to humans, and many other things as well.”
“Shame. I could never truly capture your beauty, then.” Tomo dramatically sighs.
“Guess you’ll have to rely on your memories.”
“Let’s make many memories together then, Kazuha.”
“Not like it won’t happen, right? We’re traveling partners now, after all.”
Looking away, Tomo and Kazuha spend a few seconds smiling fondly, thinking of their future adventures that lies ahead.
Kazuha wanders if one day they’ll get stuck in a storm, or how much fun they’ll have exploring Inazuma, or if they’ll ever get lost in one of those adventures.
[Kazuha discreetly glances at Tomo’s eyes. Seems like he already got lost, but not in the way he thought it’d be.]
