Chapter Text
She’s been summoned to the king and her mother. Except she didn’t realise she’d been summoned until she got there, she thought they’d wanted to see her as family, but this is politics.
“The marriage can still be annulled!” Catelyn reasoned.
“I’m with child mother, how can it be annulled? It can’t exactly be argued that he hasn’t taken his right as a husband” she replied laughingly, rolling her eyes in disbelief.
“Robb, tell her, you’re the king, you could issue a royal decree” Her mother is commanding and begging at the same time.
Robb hasn’t said anything yet, sitting quietly, considering the women in front of him.
“You were a child, coerced into a marriage you didn’t want” he says slowly, “it’s no better than rape”
“Exactly – it would be simple, then you could be free to marry whoever you want, the babe could be looked after”
Sansa can’t believe what’s she hearing and she stops pacing suddenly, pausing before she speaks. Neither of them are actually looking at her, or asking her what she wants. So she has to speak out.
“I wasn’t raped.”
They look at her now. Confusion writ across their faces.
“I wasn’t raped. My husband” - Her mother flinches as the word – “my husband told me he wouldn’t touch me until I wanted him to. And he didn’t. Yes I was a child when we married. Yes I was coerced. But your war took too long. You were too late to rescue me. I’m the same age now that Robb was when he called his banners and rode to war. A woman grown. Tyrion never touched me before I asked him to. I wasn’t raped and you will not take my husband or my child away from me. I want what is rightfully mine. Ours, I want Casterly Rock.”
