“Am I seeing things?” Bulk asked Skull, who was wrestling his bag back into his locker with not much success. Of course his best friend was happy to leave him to struggle as he stood beside him and when Skull didn't look quickly enough Bulk placed his hand flat on the top of the other's head to turn it forcefully.
Skull frowned as he was looked towards the steps that lead from the upper floor into their corridor and his jaw dropped at the sight that he took in. Kimberly Hart and Billy Cranston had just walked onto the halfway landing and where smirking down at the students who were milling about below them. Now it wasn't unusual to see the two together but there were definite reasons for Skull to be surprised and it wasn't just the unnatural sneers on their faces.
Kimberly's hair was wild, styled deliberately like she had put her fingers in a live socket but that was nothing to what she was wearing. A black leather jacket that covered about as mush as the skin tight dress that just reached past her butt did and she had ditched her usual soft pink colour for a hot pink leopard pattern material. As she started to move down the steps Skull took in her shapely legs and the heavy black combat boots on her feet. She looked amazing but then Skull's eyes fell on Billy and he seemed to lose all power of his limbs, which finally allowed his bag to crash to the floor, as his arms hung as limp as his mouth.
Gone were Billy's round glasses and fluffy hair style, now he had a navy blue bandanna covering his hair except for a little curl at the front and he must have been wearing contact lens because Skull highly doubted that the cool blue sunglasses that were perched at the end of his nose were for his vision. Exactly like Kimberly he had swapped out his usual dungarees for baggy black jeans that were riding low enough for Skull to see his navy underwear and he wore a black, artfully ripped sleeveless vest that was wide at his neck with a denim waistcoat over it. Skull doubted it had always been a waistcoat however, with the level of fraying at the arm holes but he was more interested in Billy's impressive muscular arms that he never usually showed off so willingly.
“Holy....” Skull started but even as he spoke Kimberly's eyes had landed on him like a hawk and it was a predatory gleam that lit them up. She reached back to hit Billy on the chest and then Billy was looking at them two, his eyes landing on Bulk and he smirked. It looked so weird and out of place on Billy's face that Skull wondered if he was actually still sleeping and just having a weird/great dream.
Then Kimberly was standing beside him, leaning on the lockers next to his “hey tough guy” she all but purred before running an appraising eye over him “you're my kinda man.”
Skull laughed, thinking she was joking but when she continued to smirk at him suggestively, he pointed to himself incredulously and she nodded. Okay something was really wrong here “um Kimberly you do know who you're talking to, right?”
In response Kimberly reached up suddenly and looped her fingers under his spiked choker so as to yank him closer, making him grunt in surprise before his nose was brushing across hers. “I don't know Skull” she teased “I thought I was talking to hot guy that would know how to have a good time but maybe I'm wrong?”
“Hey” Bulk cried behind Skull looking over his bent shoulder to glower at Kimberly with suspicion “wait a minute, what is this, some kind of trick?”
That was when Billy acted and while Skull was still captured in Kimberly's hold he heard Bulk's heavy form hit and rattle against the lockers. It was with a growl that went right to Skull's groan that Billy told him “hey man, watch yourself. You aren't the baddest dude on the block any more” and Kimberly cackled happily. Then Billy added in a quieter voice, which made Skull imagine him getting in Bulk's face, “so don't ask any stupid questions, got it?”
Skull barely heard the squeak of “yeah, I got it” before there was another loud thud and Skull imagined Billy had possibly thrown him to the side, right next to a trash can.
“You run with a bad crowd Skully” Billy's voice was now speaking at his ear and Skull jumped as Billy slammed his hand on the locker behind him. He was now penned in by the two, apparently high on something, teens and for a second he knew what it felt like when he did this to Kimberly or even how Billy might feel when Bulk loomed over him. He peered as best he could at Billy since Kimberly was still holding onto his choker like he was a misbehaving dog and felt his insides squirm to come under the scrutiny of those sharp blue eyes.
“Yeah Skull” Kimberly crooned and when he looked back at her he was suddenly reminded that his face was dangerously close to hers. “Ditch the geek” she encouraged and Skull couldn't help but let a startled cackle escape at Bulk being called a 'geek.'
“You should hang out with us” Billy now spoke very close to Skull's ear “like the old days.”
Skull did manage to turn his head to look at the boy completely with widened eyes before they narrowed and he had finally had enough. He batted Kimberly's hand away and she pouted but let go so that Skull could stand tall again and while there wasn't much in their height he still towered over Billy. “Yeah whatever Cranston” he snapped and he spied Bulk out of the corner of his eye standing off to the side looking uncertain “better hope your geek friends don't hear you say that Bones.”
Then he tried to push Billy's still caging arm out of the way but he was having none of that and instead he pushed Skull hard into the locker. Kimberly clapped her hands together happily as Skull grunted in pain but Billy was pressed against him a second later making him gasp. “Don't be like that” Billy said with a chuckle before studied Skull's face and thoughtfully commented “you know I never fixed that latch on my window, Eugene.”
Skull placed his hands on Billy's hips to push him away but very subtly Billy ground them closer and he had to fight a gasp. God if Bulk saw that, he looked away from his friend towards Kimberly who looked gleeful but she put on a tone of mock annoyance as she said “that's not fair Billy I saw him first.”
“We both know that's not true” Billy whispered and Skull was looking at Billy in real confusion “don't we Eugene?”
What the hell was happening?
“Billy!” A new voice spoke behind them and Skull was horrified to see that Jason Scott was standing there looking half furious half confused as all hell. Behind him stood Trini Kwan and Zack Taylor looking just as weary as Jason commanded “let him go.”
“Get a life Scott” Kimberly snarked and Skull gave her a startled look as she gripped his arm before adding in a very patronising tone “we're just hanging with our buddy.”
“Billy” Jason ignored her his eyes still on Billy who was still pressed too close to Skull's crotch making him will his body not to react. “Let him go Billy, I won't say it again” Jason intoned in a firm but quiet voice that held no room for argument.
Billy was ignoring Jason just as thoroughly as the jock had ignored Kimberly “do you want me to let go Skull?” The new growling quality to Billy's voice was doing dangerous things to Skull's body and at this moment he very much did not want Billy to let him go.
“Come on Billy” Kimberly leant in more between them “let's blow this scene.” Billy did listen to her and veeery slowly he dragged himself down and away from Skull's hips making him splutter and gasp as heat spread up his neck and cheeks. Then Kimberly was pulling at his choker again and when Skull tried to tell her to let him go she had slipped her tongue into his mouth. The kiss was messy and short before she literally pushed him away, making him stumble backwards into the still open door of his locker making it clatter loudly.
“Catch you later Skully” Kimberly cooed before blowing a bubble with her bubblegum up in Trini's face and let it pop obnoxiously making her wince away.
For a second Billy just stood there looking at Skull, still smirking very knowingly, “remember what I said about the latch Eugene.” Then his smile was wolfish “I don't mind sharing” and with that he walked away to catch up with Kimberly.
“What the hell was that?!” Bulk yelled, though he waited until Billy and Kimberly had disappeared around the corner.
Skull just gaped after the two before he realised that Jason, Trini and Zack were giving him very similar looks of curiosity. “I-I-I.... need the bathroom” Skull muttered lamely before all but sprinting away from the group.
“Why did Skull call you Bones?” Kimberly asked as they sat in the cage with the giant blue headed dude still staring at them suspiciously.
Billy smirked as he inspected his nails “me and Eugene go way back” was his explanation but he laughed when Kimberly kicked his boot with her own impatiently. “Alright” Billy chuckled “we used to be best friends, before that pig Bulk came on the scene.”
“Really?!” Kimberly shrieked with laughter “so why Bones because he was Skull?”
She was teasing but Billy nodded “we used to play pirates” he explained “I was Billy Bones because I read Treasure Island to him.”
Kimberly pulled an exaggerated expression of cuteness “aww that's sweet, will you play pirates with him now?”
“Play with Bulk” Billy said darkly “make him walk the fucking plank.”
Kimberly cackled “yeah Skull can play our hostage” she said moving closer to Billy with a wicked smile. “You know” she said casually “I don't know who got him more hot me or you.”
Billy was smirking again “well either way we can both have a turn, I doubt Eugene would mind.” He remembered feeling Skull harden against his crotch and he had desperately wanted to pull him away but couldn't be bothered with the goody-two shoes squad dragging them down.
Kimberly giggled “well I'd say I called first dibs but I suppose you have known him longer.”
But before Billy could answer the little tin man was waddling towards their cage “alright you two I've found a cure!”
Skull was conflicted.
Since that mornings weirdness he had been avoiding two things, what had happened and Billy's enticing offer of a broken window latch but most importantly he was avoiding Bulk. His best friend had questions, probably plenty of them and the last thing Skull wanted to do was answer them. Bulk had no idea about his friendship with Billy when they were kids and he planned to keep it that way. Not only to save himself the scoffing that Bulk would dish out but also because it was something he wanted to keep private and as pure as it could be, what with it already being damaged.
Once upon a time Skull could never imagine not being friends with Billy or Bones as he had called him when they were kids and it wasn't even something awful that made them fall out. Billy was brainy and Skull wasn't, Billy liked to keep active and exercise was poison to Skull, it didn't take very long for their tastes to split them enough that they drifted apart. It still hurt though to watch Billy start hanging around Kimberly Hart because they both went to gymnastics together and then Trini because they both had a passion for science. Skull had met Bulk or Farkus, as he called himself back then at the end of the elementary school, but when Skull announced himself as such his eyes had lit up and he decided to go for a nickname as well.
Bulk and Skull, misfits and punks in the making, punks that apparently didn't like smarty pants kids that thought they were better than them. He never saw Billy to be that but Bulk sure did and before he knew it they were in middle school and Bulk was harassing Billy whenever he could. Skull, not willing to lose another friend, didn't join in exactly but he didn't stop Bulk either and he still remembered the last time he clambered up the side of the Cranston residence to Billy's window.
Billy hadn't been asleep but he didn't look overly pleased to see Skull and the awkward conversation that followed consisted of Billy not moving closer and Skull remaining perched on the windowsill like an overlarge bird.
He didn't even make it into the room.
“I think you and Bulk are good for each other” Billy had said stonily with his arms crossed over his broadening chest. He may only be 12 but years of gymnastics were giving him defined muscles in his arms and puberty was doing very nice things to his face. Gone was his puppy fat around the cheeks so that his cheekbone could now cut through paper and his soft brown hair was growing in more to hang around his blue eyes which were cold for the first time ever.
“Look Billy it's just... Bulk's just -” “Bulk's an asshole Eugene” Billy had responded because while they had named each other nickname wise they still called one another by their given names most of the time.
“Well what was I suppose to do?” Skull had snapped “you dumped me for perfect princess Kimberly and fellow brain trust member Trini!”
Billy had simply raised an eyebrow “I made new friends, I don't remember saying you couldn't join us or am I only allowed to be exclusively yours?”
Something had twisted in Skull's stomach at that question and for a blind second he had almost shouted, yes you're damn right, but stopped himself.
He didn't need to speak though as Billy let out a huff of annoyance, his silence had been answer enough apparently “look Skull I have homework to finish so if you're done?”
The twisting in Skull's stomach had tightened and this time it was anger as Billy turned away from him to play about with the textbooks on his bed. “Yeah I'm done” he muttered “see you tomorrow dweeb” and he saw Billy's shoulders stiffen but he had hauled himself back onto the water pipe that clung to the Cranston house before Billy could turn and show him the look of hurt on his face.
After that he had cared very little for what Bulk said to Billy. It didn't matter thought because as they left middle school and Billy's friends started to include Jason Lee Scott and Zack Taylor it became harder for Bulk to single him out and more importantly it was clear that he had moved on from the days of Skull and Bones.
Of course a large bit of Skull still cared enough about Billy to stop Bulk when he went too far, there had been many keenly constructed 'accidents' by his own 'clumsiness' that had stopped Bulk actually hitting Billy or causing any real damage to something he was doing. It was oddly satisfying, since Bulk's favourite pet name for him was 'Numbskull', to know that he wasn't as stupid as his friend liked to think. To himself anyway.
Billy for his part was just wary of both of them and he never looked at Skull properly after that night though he always brushed off the insult 'dweeb' in later years. He was too nice for his own good, Skull always thought, he had seen Billy practise karate with Jason and he knew Billy could kick both their asses easily. But he didn't, always one for the peaceful solution first so after seeing him today....
The mean but self assured look on Billy's face, the confidence oozing out of him as he had basically thrown Bulk down the hallway like a ragdoll, was this the boy he would have been if Skull had managed to coax him into hanging out with him and Bulk?
Billy Bones the punk?
It should not be a turn on but Skull would be lying if he said it wasn't. It had inadvertently turned him on all day, during classes and when he was hiding from Bulk behind the bleachers at lunch and when he noticed Billy's little bug car sitting in the car park as he left the school. It was not helped that Billy and Kimberly didn't seem to turn up for any classes after their meeting that morning because every time Skull looked up, expecting them to stride into class and they didn't he had reliving that morning all over again anyway.
He could imagine Billy pressed against him, Kimberly's hot tongue in his mouth and imagining if Billy would taste different. Then he would be curled up at his desk trying to hide his reaction to these thoughts and ignoring Bulk's eyes narrowing as his neck went pink.
So now that school was over and Skull had all but run from the building, opting for home instead of Ernie's like usual he could now concentrate on his thoughts.
Several times.
In the privacy of his bedroom with his dad at work.
Then, once that was taken care of, he was free to really wonder what to take of Billy's parting words.
“Remember what I said about the latch Eugene.”
If he ignored the little tease about 'sharing' with Kimberly, the thing to actually consider was did Billy actually want him to go see him? It was definitely an invite but since Skull wasn't sure what the two had been smoking it meant he also wasn't sure how sincere or even real an offer it was? He really didn't want to turn up and Billy not even remember saying it or worse scoff at Skull thinking he would actually mean it.
As they had gotten older he did think some of the animosity they had for each other had waned maybe due of his subtle acts of reeling in Bulk. He thought, more recently, he had seen Billy give a few thoughtful looks after Skull tangling something around Bulk would make them both fall over on their asses. He wondered if Billy suspected what he was doing but if he did he hadn't said anything. That however did not automatically mean that Billy would forgive him enough to allow them to be friends again let alone anything else.
Had he always suspected that Billy might not be into girls even when they were kids? Yes, and had he, as he became a mess of hormones, suspect that he might be into guys (mainly one Billy Cranston) just as much as girls? Also yes and extremely annoying because if he hadn't fucked things up between himself and Billy then he would not be pining after a possible lost cause.
Again, none of this helped Skull in what to do next. Billy had clearly riled him for one purpose and boy had it worked but if he was playing some weird mind game to get back at him what if Skull was about to step right into a very incriminating trap? He swallowed hard as he imagined stepping into Billy's bedroom to find not only the genius but all his friends there laughing at him.
'Billy wouldn't do that' Skull had argued with himself before sighing 'and he would never throw Bulk against a wall and Kimberly Hart would never kiss you.' It was with a groan that Skull buried his face in his pillow and huffed. Of course they had done these things though and maybe it wasn't a bad thing? He wasn't sure he liked the idea of Billy and Kimberly keeping their new looks or attitudes, completely anyway but Billy standing up for himself, actually showing off his... attributes? Skull could totally live with that and if he could reconcile with Billy properly then all the better.
So to go to Billy's or not to go to Billy's, that was the question, Skull supposed.
Skull sighed, it wasn't really a question though was it? He would forever be a sucker for Billy Cranston, what it boiled down to was, did he arrive earlier in the evening before his curfew ended or did he sneak out of his house tonight after his dad was asleep?
“Kimberly it isn't that bad” Trini chuckled as her friend continued to brush her teeth for the fifth time in thirty minutes.
“No it was vile” Kimberly corrected her as she put more toothpaste on her pink toothbrush and started scrubbing again.
“Honestly Kim look at the bright side” Trini now smirked at her “better it be Skull than Bulk.”
Kimberly actually froze in her brushing for a second to process that thought before shuddering and continuing on.
There was a knock at the open bathroom door and Zack came to lean on the door frame “you recovered from your traumatic experience yet?”
“There's not enough toothpaste in the world for that” Kimberly snarked back at him through the mirror before she did put her toothbrush down and asked with concern “hows Billy?”
Zack frowned himself now “still freaking out” and Trini sighed before patting Kim on the shoulder and moving to leave the small bathroom. They were still in the command centre, having defeated the bad guy and returned so Billy and Kimberly could change out of their 'new clothes' and back into something a bit more comfortable.
Billy and Kimberly's time as punks had not left a favourable impression on them, Kimberly having shrieked about actually kissing Skull while Billy looked ready to faint that he had thrown about a guy twice his size and... well whatever that weird moment with Skull had been.
“Bulk won't report you Billy” Trini heard Jason soothing as she walked along the winding corridor that lead back into the main control room “it's Bulk, he'd rather say he walked into that trash can than admit you threw him at it.”
“But what about when he realises I'm back to normal?” Billy stressed and Trini saw him run a distracted hand through his hair as she came round the corner. The last of the gel that had kept it under the bandanna was gone because of the amount of times he had worried his fingers through the strands but now it was just standing up at the back and looked greasy.
“Billy Bulk won't touch you” Jason said with a sigh “because apart from the fact that you could kick his ass, I won't let him.”
“I'm not worried about physical violence” Billy stressed as Trini came to lean against one of the counters “I'm worried about what he'll say, god what is Skull going to say?!”
Jason suddenly looked uncomfortable as Trini asked “never mind Skull, I want to know what was going on in your punk-misted brain?”
Billy's face went as pink as Kimberly's ranger costume as he looked at Trini before he shrugged and very deliberately looked away. For a second she didn't think he was going to answer then he muttered “well you know I'm... I like guys, I suppose it made sense in my head that I would like Skull?”
“So it was like Kimberly?” Jason asked for clarification and Billy nodded at him, a little too fast for Trini's liking.
“Affirmative” Billy replied “it's no different to animals when they see a potential mate” he tried to explain “if Rita had turned me and Kimberly into jocks then I probably would have tried to hit on you.”
Jason's eyes widened wide shock leaving Billy to stumble over an explanation “not that I would, you are so not my type.” Then Jason was smirking “not that there's anything wrong with you, you're handsome in a classical way but not that handsome- I mean -”
“Jason let him stop talking before he passes out!” Trini chided him as Billy did indeed look ready to faint from his own embarrassment.
Jason chuckled “it's fine Billy, I know what you mean, it was just Rita's spell right?”
Billy nodded again and again Trini thought he was too quick to agree to it, especially when he looked away from his friends as though to hide his face. Trini stood up straight again “Billy can you help me with some loose wiring on my communicator?” Billy turned to face her with a curious expression as she waved her wrist at him “I think it got knocked during the fight and when I was trying to connect to my zord it was being weird.”
Jason frowned “you never said?”
She shrugged “I didn't want to worry anyone, it wasn't a big deal.”
Billy was already moving towards her and she grabbed his hand to pull him out the control room “um you do know that the light is better -”
“You are lying Billy Cranston” Trini cut across him and Billy flinched but when he opened his mouth to argue she cut across him again “and don't deny it. By your logic you're saying that you and Kimberly only flirted with Skull because he was a punk and you recognised someone of similar tastes, correct?”
“Yes” Billy answered defiantly “or are you trying to suggest that Kim has a secret passion for Eugene Skullovitch, she'll love that.”
Trini swiped some of her long black hair over her shoulder “no I'm suggesting you have some sort of something for Skull because while Rita's spell made you more direct today. It is not the first time I've witnessed you staring at him like a forlorn puppy.”
“I have not!” Billy cried defensively and when Trini simply raised an eyebrow he added with a huff “and if I have been throwing looks at him it's not for the reason you're thinking!”
“So why then?” Trini pressed and Billy looked like he wanted the earth to swallow him whole. He lowered his head to avoid looking at her and Trini sighed “Billy I don't get it, he's a moron and he's horrible to you.”
Billy leant back heavily on the wall, he looked defeated “he's not a moron Trini, that's not fair.”
“Well his grades disagree with that statement Billy” she retorted “and I notice you're ignoring the being 'horrible to you' comment.”
“I'm not ignoring it” Billy defended “Skull isn't horrible to me, he ignores me it's Bulk's that's horrible to me and he's horrible to everyone, Skull included by the way.”
“He also does nothing when Bulk is horrible to you” she reminded him and Billy shrugged again. Trini shook her head and after crossing her arms stubbornly over her chest and jutting her hip out slightly she asked “I'm missing something here, aren't I?”
Billy sighed before looking to his friend, there was something in his face, something that told Trini she was right in thinking she had missed something. “Trust me Trini” his expression was so sad that it made Trini drop her arms from their defensive fold “you don't have to worry, Skull would never be interested in me anyway, not really.”
Trini decided not to tell Billy that the looks Skull had given him during that excruciatingly uncomfortable scene that morning told a different tale and instead said, a bit gentler but still sour, “I'm failing to see why that's a bad thing?”
Billy shook his head and straightened up from the wall “it's not” he said flatly before he started to walk away “listen I'm going home, tell the others will you?”
Trini just watched him walk away, worried and still confused as to why Billy would want anything to go with Skull.
First point to make was that Billy hadn't been lying about the latch, Skull could see the same patch of worn wood where the metal clasp should have been and it had broken off years before he had started climbing into Billy's bedroom at night. Second thing, which was much more important, this climb was not as easy as it used to be, he was a hell of a lot taller than even when he had done this last at 12 and his large combat booted feet did not have the best grip of the pipe that was bolted to the side of the house. He was surprised he hadn't woken the house up when he almost slipped at once point and the steel toed front clanged off the pipe loudly but after giving it a minute he deemed it say to continue shimmying up it.
Carefully he had placed one foot on the window ledge and peered in to see a lump curled up under the covers of Billy's bed and checked his watch again. Hopefully at 1 o'clock in the morning the whole Cranston residence would be asleep.
Skull slid the window open and grateful for his long legs he slid one into the room, his foot just touching the floor when he had reached the pinnacle of how far he could stretch himself. He managed to duck his head in and kind of bunny hopped a few steps before his other foot had swung in to hit the carpet. Very slowly he closed the window again and took in Billy's darkened room, it was basically the same as the last time, books everywhere but otherwise tidy. No clothes lying on the floor or posters haphazardly spread over the walls, if it weren't for the cork noticeboard that was pinned with plenty of photos of Billy with his friends and family it wouldn't have looked like a teenagers room.
Skull studied it on it's place from the wall over Billy's desk which was next to the window and he saw plenty of Billy with Jason, Kimberly, Trini and Zack over various years. From 12 year old Kimberly and Billy hugging each other with the glint of medals around their necks after a gymnastics tournament to a group picture that Skull recognised as a only a few months before. Most of the pictures of small child Billy were with his mother, simply because she was there and he allowed himself to touch the corner of one where she was holding a toddler Billy in her arms and looking at him with a laugh on her face. Skull had liked Mrs Cranston, she had always been nice to him and he still remembered holding Billy's hand at her funeral.
He was just pulling his hand away when he spotted something underneath a picture of Trini and Kimberly grinning at him, something black and red. He lifted the picture and finally allowed himself to smile. It wasn't a picture it was better, a simple scrap of red bandanna with little black skull and crossbones on it. Skull remembered ripping in half to tie like a bracelet around Billy's thin wrist at age 7.
They had been reading Treasure Island to each other because the weather had been rainy so they were relegated inside by Skull's dad. Soon enough they had read their fill of the book and moved on to played pirates and it was the first time Skull cried,
“Bones! Billy Bones, I'm totally calling you Bones.”
Billy had frowned “but he died?”
Skull had snorted “I aint gonna let you die Bones” and then he had swung about his ruler, which was doubling as a longsword, and wiggled it like he was jabbing at invisible assailants “I'll run them through!”
Billy had laughed and picked up his own ruler “alright then you're Skull” he said as he clattered the rulers together and little Eugene Skullovitch liked the sound of that.
Skull and Bones.
Skull let the picture of fall back into place and peered over at Billy, he could make out the top of his fluffy hair on his pillow and one of his arms was stretched out across the mattress with his hand hanging over the edge of his bed.
A new wave of confidence filled Skull and he moved closer to the bed on the side that Billy was facing since he figured it would be the best way to avoid Billy screaming, too much. He slipped his boots off and crouched by the side of the bed, taking in Billy's sleeping face and trying not too feel too much like a perv for thinking he was super cute even in sleep.
He moved to lean on the bed and Billy breathed in deeply, sensing the weight shift but his eyes stayed closed. A little more daring Skull kissed the inside of Billy's wrist and he sighed before his fingers curled upwards so as to touch Skull's cheek. Billy groaned slightly and Skull turned his head to scan the top of the bedside cabinet before reaching for Billy's glasses. He had them offered out to Billy even as the boy's eyes fluttered opened “oh my -” then he leapt so far back in the bed that he almost fell off the other side.
Skull lurching across to wrap his arm around Billy's waist was the only thing that stopped him but it was batted away as Billy sat up and looked down at Skull “w-what... Skull what are you -” he snapped his glasses from Skull's waving hand and pushed them onto his face “- doing here?!”
“Forgot your invite already?” Skull asked and he grinned because even in the dark he knew Billy was blushing.
“Skull I...” but Billy seemed unable to speak as Skull moved himself from the floor to sit on the bed “I was... me and Kim -”
“Oh yeah I'm glad you mentioned Kimberly” Skull said leaning in further and he felt a jolt of triumph that Billy did not retreat, just looked wary. “I'm going to be straight with you, I'm not into sharing” he moved in even closer so that his nose was brushing against Billy's. The brunette jumped so slightly but again didn't try to pull away “so if it's a choice, I think I'll give Kimberly a miss.”
“Skull” Billy's voice was quiet and his breath fanned Skull's lips “today I....”
“Tell me you want me to go” Skull told him and he pulled back enough to look at Billy properly and he had to stop himself from cheering when Billy chased him slightly. “Tell me that you were bullshitting me today because of whatever drugs -” he ignored Billy's indignant squeak “- you were on and I'll go, nothing else said.”
Billy bit his bottom lip as he looked at Skull and after a second of silence Skull started to doubt that Billy would be brave enough to allow him to stay.
“Fuck it” Billy muttered and he gripped Skull's face to bring him in for a kiss.
Skull instantly wrapped his arms around Billy to pull him closer and the covers were being kicked off the bed as Skull's hands were slipping down Billy's back to inside his boxers. Billy was pulling impatiently as his jacket while he gasped at Skull's cold fingers on his flesh.
When it was clear that Skull needed to help take his own clothes off he begrudgingly sat back as Billy flopping back onto his mattress. Skull ripped his jacket and t-shirt off as Billy undid his spiked belt and the button of his combat trousers. It was only once he had wiggled out of them and they lay together on bed that Skull chuckled against a slow and lavish kiss. Billy pulled back looking confused but smiling “what, what's funny?”
“What the hell did you and Hart take by the way?”
Billy rolled his eyes before taking his glasses off and threw them carelessly to the floor “oh shut up” and then he was flipping them so that Skull was lying underneath him. Only when Billy was settled in the most compromising place did he lean back down to kiss Skull and purred “considering how it's turned out, are you complaining?”
Skull grinned into the kiss, his tongue slipping into Billy's mouth and he definitely thought Billy tasted better than Kimberly. He flipped them again but the wrong way and they did fall out the bed but the comforter cushioned the blow and neither noticed.
“Well...” Baboo muttered as he looked away from the eyepiece of Rita's telescope “that wasn't exactly the outcome I was hoping for.”
Squatt shrugged as Rita pushed him out the way and looked herself just in time to see Billy's head fall back in a gasp of pleasure. She moved the telescope down before pulling back like she had been burnt, she had seen exactly what the boy 'Skull' was doing to make the blue ranger squirm happily like that.
“You idiot” she snapped at Baboo and after a moment she chanced another look but nope still not okay to look yet.
“To be fair my queen I thought giving the rangers an attitude adjustment would make people not respect them any more I didn't think....”
“It would make them horny” Squatt finished helpfully and Baboo glowered at him “but maybe there is a bright side to this your evilness.”
Rita gave him a dubious look of warning “and what would that be?”
Squatt pushed Baboo further away again before he peeked slowly into the telescope and if the goblin could blush he definitely would have. He watched with fascination as the two teens lay on the floor, Billy's back to the black haired punk's front and a very rhythmic movement telling him plainly what was going on. He pulled away again “well if he's going to be hanging around more, you know like a boyfriend, then we could use him as bait for the rangers!”
Rita looked shocked at the spark of insight before she grinned “yes that does sound like an idea.” Then she took one last look in the telescope and watched Skull kiss the blue ranger's shoulder, the two seemed to be panting but thankfully finished. Billy turned and kissed Skull properly and she saw it, her inner eye seeing the blue and gold aura's around the boys, merging perfectly which meant one thing. Soulmates.
