Chapter Text
“Ugh! Why are we here again?” Roxanne complained from her spot in the meeting room. Chica sighed.
“Roxy, you know why. There’s some important news and they wanted us all to hear it!”
“Heh, maybe they’re finally making me the lead singer.” Monty teased, nudging Freddy.
“I think you would make a great singer if you replaced me.” Freddy smiled genuinely. “Though, I do not believe that would happen.”
“Maybe not, but this gator can dream can’t he?” The two chuckled. The animatronics settled down, just in time as Officer Vanessa walked in. She looked exhausted and fed up, more so than usual.
“Okay, I’m guessing you weren’t briefed on why you’re here right?”
“No, we weren’t Officer Vanessa. Would you mind telling us?”
“Well, there’s a new animatronic being introduced. He’ll be partnered with Freddy. He’s going to be in charge of finding and helping lost children as well as playing with the friendless kids.” Vanessa explained.
“I get a new partner?” The bear was clearly excited.
“Yes. Apparently the head honcho thought that the best way to make their mascot appeal more to families was to give him a family so… introducing your newest member, Gregory Fazbear.” On cue, the new animatronic stepped into the room. He was a bear animatronic like Freddy, with two stars on his cheeks and a lightning bolt symbol on his chest like Freddy. He had a red shoulder pads like Freddy too. He also had a more plush design, having actual fur instead of the smooth metal the others had.
“Ill leave you guys to do your introductions. Get back to your rooms when your done. Freddy, Gregory goes with you.” And with the the security guard left.
The Glamrock Animatronics made their way over to the new animatronic, who barely came up to their hips.
“Hello! Its nice to meet you!” Chica was the first to break the ice. She grabbed Gregory and gave him a big hug. You are just the cutest little thing!”
“Its nice to meet you too? I guess?” Gregory didn’t really liked being squished so tightly. He was more than happy when he was released. Chica said a quick goodbye and left.
Next up was Roxy, who looked him up and down. He felt like she was judging him. “Just a little heads up kid,” she walked past him after inspecting him. “I’m the best.” And she left.
“Hey there little guy.” Monty was next. “Hate to break it to ya, but you’ve got a pretty lame dad. But don’t worry, I’m sure some of my coolness will rub off on you.” He adjusted his shades and grinned. “Well, I’ll leave ya to get to know your dad. Feel free to stop by Gator Golf. If ya dare.” And he left.
Now it was just Gregory and Freddy. Unlike the others, Gregory felt comfortable with Freddy. He guessed it was something programmed into him.
Freddy stepped up to him a knelt down to be at eye level. “Hello there Gregory. It is nice to meet you.” He smiled sweetly and held out a hand for a handshake.
“Its… nice to meet you too um- I suppose I call you dad now?”
“I guess. If you do then I suppose it’s only fair that I call you cub.” Freddy smiled and lifted Gregory up gently, giving him a quick sniff snorf. It made Gregory giggle. “You are quite soft.”
“Yeah, I mean I was made to play with kids. Being soft makes it harder for me to hurt them.” Freddy nodded, understanding.
“Well, I can’t wait to get to know you better! You seem like a very sweet cub.” Freddy started walking, carrying Gregory back to their now shared room. “I hope you don’t mind the messy room. I don’t normally clean.”
“It’s okay. I won’t mind at all!” And he didn’t. When they got to Freddy’s room and he was set down he didn’t really care about all the scattered plushes and other items. He didn’t even mind the bowling ball. “You play bowling?”
“Ah- I used to. I had a friend that ran the Bonnie Bowl.”
“Had… so he’s no long around?”
“Unfortunately no.” Gregory put the bowling ball down carefully. He felt bad now.
“Oh, I’m sorry…” He went and sat on the couch, doing his best not to touch anything else. That is until he saw the big Freddy plush he sat next to. It was almost as big as him. Or maybe it was bigger? He he knew was he liked it it, or his programming was telling him he liked it. He smushed himself against it, hugging it gently. He cuddled the plush, ears and tail wiggling happily.
“You do not have to apologize cub, it’s not your fault after all.” He walked to his mirror, standing in front of it. He’d normally be rehearsing right now. But he wasn’t sure if he should with his new kid there. “Would you mind… if I did a bit of rehearsing?”
“Hmm… no. I don’t mind.” Gregory yawned. “Can you sing a lullaby? Please?”
Freddy thought for a moment. Then nodded. “Sure I can.” He grabbed his microphone and gave it a quick tap before starting to sing. He didn’t know many lullabies, but after a quick bit of research he picked out a simple one. He only sang a few lines before the sound of gentle robotic snoring cut him off. He looked and saw his cub sleeping sound, cuddled against the giant plush of him.
He smiled a little, going over and giving him a gentle pat on the head. He supposed it made sense an animatronic meant to be around children would be able to sleep like one.
“Sleep well Superstar.”

Gregory sat in the chair, looking at himself in the mirror as Freddy fixed up his fur. He was a bit nervous for his first day. He really hoped people liked him. According to some of the staff he’s been built up as the next big thing in the PizzaPlex. He didn’t want to mess it up.
“Dad? What if I mess up? What if people don’t like me?”
“There there, I’m sure you’ll be great! Today we’re going to be doing three birthday parties. All you have to do is play with kids and keep a look out for lost children. It’ll be easy!”
“Okay… okay I can do that!”
With his fur all fixed up he hopped of the chair. “I just have to stay close to you right?” Freddy nodded.
“I’ll take you to the party and you stay with the kids while I perform with the others. And then I’ll come over with the kids birthday cake. We hang out with the part for an hour or so. Then we rinse and repeat.” Freddy patted Gregory’s head. “Come on now, you’re all charged up right?”
“Yeah. Let’s go!”
