Work Text:
Imagine preparing in advance a fantastic day for Valentine's Day, a day you usually spend alone.
You've chosen the perfect look to make hearts flutter. You've also prepared your best pick-up lines that don't look too awkward. You're ready for an eventful day. All your planning is already well organized in your head. Without fail if everything goes as it should of course.
That is, unless you get a message from your date saying that he might not be available anymore because he had recently started dating someone else.
Jeno didn't even know what to say to him because he was so devastated by this message.
Life is hard for our Jeno, he who lived in celibacy for 7 years, without having the courage to date someone or the courage to declare his love to his crush.
He was deflating at every opportunity he had to be alone with them when he was still very young.
Those big glasses at the time earned him some mockery and a nickname of "Gus" from Recess, who looked just like him. Being subjected to this kind of thing took a big hit to his self-confidence.
Fortunately, his puberty came early, which was good for him. Thanks to his older sister's beauty treatments and the fact that he knows how to work out could allow him to look like an attractive and well-built young man.
Jeno remained nevertheless in the soul, the shy little boy who stuttered every time a stranger approached him to ask for his number.
So when he got up the courage to sign up on a dating app and managed to hook up with another guy and get a date on Valentine's Day. He was pretty excited about his first date.
The mere fact that someone might be interested in him (even though they've never met) made his brain boil.
Jeno had planned everything to make it as perfect as possible: checking what the weather would be like at what time, the route they would have to take from one place to another since he didn't have a license, and even choosing good restaurants.
He had even asked Jaemin for help with his outfit because he was not too confident about his style. His wardrobe is mostly made of old hoodies and jogging suits with some jeans gathering dust at the bottom of his closet.
Jeno had gone to bed all happy, rolling around laughing just imagining how his date would go. They'll be there, both of them, hand in hand enjoying the couples' deals, sharing a milkshake or enjoying the beautiful sunset.
With perhaps to conclude a small kiss and the promise to see each other again one day. He squirmed with joy, a big smile on his face and cheekbones so high that it hurt.
All that happiness was shattered when he saw the message from his date.
At 10:22 p.m. sharp, the time that is supposed to be the special occasion when your guardian angels tell them that they are about to do great things, Jeno received a little message that their date had been cancelled. Because apparently his date had found someone else.
What?" thought Jeno on the spot. It hadn't really hit him at first. He had probably misread the word 'cancelled' and confused it with the word 'coffee' or something.
He reread it once, then twice, three and four times to make sure he had understood the message correctly. He had the sudden tingling sensation in his eyes. Not sure if it was because he wanted to cry or because he hadn't blinked in a minute.
Getting flunked the day after Valentine's Day hurt his dignity. Just the perfect timing for his day of love to turn into a black day.
And to think that he had rehearsed several times his text in front of the mirror what he was going to say in front of Gyuk hyung so that it wouldn't be too weird.
After that, it's not like he was going to cry for so little, he's grown up now, this kind of stuff is for kids.
Pathetic Jeno said to himself with tears in his eyes when he ran to mourn in Jaemin's arms.
Sweet Jaemin, his childhood best friend who he considers his brother, always knew what to do if he was in a bad mood.
As soon as he saw Jeno, with teary eyes, standing in front of his doorway, he dropped everything he had to do and took him in his arms in his bed.
Jaemin let him cry for a while in his arms, making his snot puke on his shirt. Jaemin paid no attention to this. He let him squeal one last time before calmly asking him what was wrong with him.
"I got blown off for tomorrow," Jeno muttered in the crook of his neck, his voice hoarse from crying.
"Besides it was my first date" Jaemin had to listen carefully to him since he spoke too low. "Maybe I should just stay alone" Jeno sniffed.
Jaemin took Jeno's face in his hands gently. "Oh no Jeno" He gently stroked his mole to cradle it a little. "He doesn't deserve you anyway, that bastard."
"You think so?" Jeno blinked and tears flowed that Jaemin lovingly wiped away.
What Jeno liked about Jaemin was that he was always gentle with him, paying attention to him, his words or when he got mad at him for overworking himself.
"Of course, you are the most adorable roommate and best buddy I've ever had." Jaemin said to him shaking his head a little. "You always say hello to old people on the road sometimes even when you have time, you help them with their groceries. Even the little kids and animals like you, you always find a moment to play with them" Jaemin exclaimed eagerly, his whole smile plastered on his face.
Jeno likes the old people around here, it reminds him of his grandparents. He has always learned to be respectful to his elders. And even for the little ones since he wasn't lucky enough to have a little brother, he used to stop at the little park to play soccer with the other kids or pet every dog that crossed his path.
"And I shouldn't even mention the others students ! The second you walk into a classroom or down a hallway, all theirs eyes are on you" Jaemin held his head up when he saw Jeno trying to look away.
"And you know, what they all think about you?" Jaemin looked him straight in the eye.
"Hmm I don't know?" Jeno shrugged.
"That you're a fucking hottie, the best looking guy in college. That besides getting good grades and being good at sports, you were always respectful to everyone. That they were all jealous of your boyfriend because he was lucky enough to have you. You hear that, they're jealous!" he replied slowly, punctuating each word to get it into his head. "They envy you Lee Jeno."
"So just because some old fart couldn't see that in you doesn't mean others won't" Jaemin patted his chest, still keeping his bright smile.
And he was right! Just because one didn't know how to see who he was inside, leaving him no chance to prove himself, doesn't mean that there won't be others to notice him!
Jeno wiped the traces of his tears with his own shirt before smiling in turn. Hearing his friend say these things made him feel a little better. But that still didn't mean he wasn't sad about his date.
"Thank you so much Jaemin, I knew I could count on you to cheer me up" Jeno took him in his arms again and cradled himself in the crook of his neck.
"Anything for you Jeno" Jaemin replied in a whisper as he stroked the back of his neck.
And in the soft light of his night light, covered with a thick blanket, the two boys fell asleep peacefully.
Jeno woke up quietly, stretching his body before falling back on the bed. He felt the space next to him just to see that it was empty. Jaemin must have gone to make breakfast. He always used to hang out in his bed for a long time before leaving for class.
Usually it was Jeno who always got up early to go for a run or a bike ride by the Han River.
Preserving this routine used to put his mind at ease or the various problems he faced daily.
It also gave him the opportunity to meet the neighbors he always greeted on his way home or to meet their little dogs.
But today, he didn't feel like seeing a couple kissing or walking hand in hand in the park where he was doing his morning run.
Just thinking that in their place it should be him and his date, he had a big headache.
So this little mishap had put his energy down leaving him snoozing in that huge blanket like a caterpillar until 11 o'clock.
The window in the room was ajar, the shutters that were not totally closed let the sun rays pass.
A soft breeze caressed Jeno's hair softly, refreshing him from the heat in the room.
It was still too early to get up but it was much too late for the morning man that was Jeno.
He stayed for a long time contemplating the ceiling in the position of starfish, doing nothing and waiting. Jaemin said that he prepares him a breakfast of king because he deserved well to be made pamper a little.
His stomach let out a gurgle. He grunted and rolled onto his stomach as his phone began to vibrate.
"Arg-not now," Jeno grumbled as he ran a hand through his hair, ruffling those crazy locks even more. He just hoped it wasn't Gyuk hyung coming to bother him again.
He checked his phone while massaging his eyelids. He quickly looked at those notifications while trying to adjust to the brightness of the screen. He had received a new message. He only let his hand slip in shock at finding out who it was for.
"Yangyang? What does he want?" His face frowned as he looked at the small red notification of receipt in these messages. Under total incomprehension, he entered their discussion.
YANGYANG ( Jaemin's friend)
- Hey, Jeno ! It's Yangyang, from ur biology class :)
- I just wanted to ask u if u are available today ?
- Since we still need to start talking about what we're going to do in our presentation
Oh yeah, their biology presentation, he had completely forgotten about that one. Their teacher had given them a free hand for their presentation, it just had to be presented on February 20th.
And let's say that he and Yangyang hadn't started working on it yet because they didn't know each other at all. They are just classmates sharing this one class together.
All he knows about him is that he is Renjun's cousin who is also Jaemin's boyfriend, so Jaemin and Yangyang are already friends.
Jeno was a little concerned to be with him because all the groups in the class were already formed and they remained only him and Yangyang.
Yangyang seemed to be reluctant to go with him because of the way his friends pushed him to take a step towards him with a terrified expression.
Yet Jeno didn't remember hurting him? Every time he walked by him, Jeno would wave or even smile at him. Maybe he had made him too uncomfortable since they knew each other so little.
That's also why Jeno has been avoiding him a bit lately.
But he wasn't in the mood for that, especially on Valentine's Day. He felt too tired to study today.
Jeno felt a little bad sending him that he didn't feel right today to start working on their presentation.
He didn't wait very long before receiving a message. He was rather surprised because Renjun had complained once that Yangyang was too slow to answer messages.
His classmate asked him what was wrong with him and Jeno had no problem sharing his worries since Yangyang is the cousin of his best friend's boyfriend. Renjun would surely repeat to him the same things as Jaemin.
That will be her first impression of him. How embarrassing...
- Oh, this is so lame ☹☹☹
- I have an idea, why don't we go out together?
- TO CHEER YOU UP OF COURSE
Jeno contemplated the last message for a long time. It wasn't a bad thing considering his schedule had just cleared up.
And above all it allowed him to avoid spending the day with Jaemin and Renjun. He was going to ruin his day and theirs by being their third wheel
And it will also allow him to get to know Yangyang better?
Jeno sent him that he agreed that they should meet. Yangyang answered him quickly and told him that he will come to pick him up downstairs at 3pm.
Jeno just hoped that this day would not be too strange.
"Hmm Jaemin, are you sure I should go out like this? It's not really a date..." Jeno admired herself in the mirror, enjoying her outfit.
The same outfit that Jaemin had prepared for him to see a so-called friend was a little too risqué for his taste.
After it is not really these clothes, it was those of Jaemin. He had lent him those when he rummaged in his closet yesterday and found nothing very impressive that could highlight - according to his words - those big muscular thighs.
He wears a black leather jacket, adorned with small peaks and rhinestones. Accompanied by a simple graphic t-shirt that was rather tight. These long legs were dressed in gray jeans and to finish the look, black leather boots.
It looked like he was ready to go into battle or something.
"It's not for a fight either," Jeno huffed, turning on himself when Jaemin pointed to turn.
"No matter what the occasion is, you should always look good even when you're getting beaten" Jaemin replied indifferently more busy choosing which chain would go well with his vest.
"Nonsense" said Jeno under his breath.
It was almost time to join Yangyang and Jeno didn't want to make a bad impression by arriving late.
But Jaemin was too preoccupied with the little unimportant details about his outfit like which watch he should wear when he never wears one.
Jaemin was about to put hairspray on him when he felt his phone vibrating in his pocket. Okay, time to go.
"I'm going!"
Jaemin shouted back "Enjoy your date" Jeno didn't have time to correct him on it.
Jeno took a hat with mittens because of the cold air. He didn't forget to take his wallet before leaving the apartment. He went down the stairs and arrived at the hall where he could see outside, a form slumped against a gray car.
It must have been Yangyang.
"Hey Yangyang!" Jeno raised his voice loud and clear so that his attention could be caught.
The young man quickly raised his head and Jeno could see him turning around to see who was calling him.
"Right here" Jeno said with a small smile as he positioned himself a few feet away, facing him.
Yangyang finally noticed him, moved closer to him to give him a shake. But Jeno thought he was just going to shake his hand. And so it was rather awkward to see them change their gestures every time.
When they noticed that they were wasting too much time, they would just wave their hands at each other.
This is already a good start Jeno thought.
"Hello Jeno, how are you?" Yangyang said excitedly to him accompanied by a big smile.
"I am fine and you?" Jeno answered warmly.
He was relieved that Yangyang didn't seem to dislike him because he had ignored him lately.
"Great, I have organized a sick day!"
Yangyang had not given him any details for this day. He'd rather keep it a surprise, but he imagined it was probably something to do with Valentine's Day.
Oh, does that mean they will have to act lovey dovey all day?
His brain froze at this realization. The two of them walking hand in hand like a real couple. Somehow, those hands had gotten sweaty in those mittens. It's nothing at all. But the fact that Yangyang was a cute guy still made him a little stressed.
"Oh really? I can't wait then."
A long time in the silence passed because Yangyang was busy on his phone. Jeno didn't know what to say to continue the conversation, he was pointed here like a post.
He could use the text he had revised. As what Yangyang is always well dressed, Jeno was lucky that Jaemin took care of his outfit. Or he might have ended up making a fool of himself.
Jeno was about to speak when Yangyang interrupted him.
"Well we have to go!" He took out a car key from his pocket, activated it and opened the door in front of him.
Ah maybe once.
"WOW is that your car?" Jeno looked on impressed. It was well maintained, no puddles of alcohol or trash on the floor. The car was rather luxurious but he couldn't have imagined that a student could afford it.
"Ah no it's my older brother's unfortunately," he said as he walked around the car to sit in the driver's seat. "He lets me borrow it from time to time."
They both closed their doors before putting on their seatbelts. Yangyang turned on the ignition and they had to wait a few minutes for at least the engine to warm up.
"Lucky, my big sister still doesn't trust me to borrow it."
"Damn, that suck" Yangyang sent her a sympathetic look before taking the wheel.
With the car warmed up, they were ready to go.
They had already been on the road for 30 minutes, completely stuck in traffic and the atmosphere in the car was stifling.
Since they started driving, the silence in the car was awkward. Jeno could see that Yangyang looked at him a few times to see if he was alright, because he didn't say anything since then.
Jeno looked straight, his back was so tight that it was painful and his throat was so tight. He was so embarrassed that Yangyang could feel his negative vibes.
"Hm s-if you want you can put on some music?" Yangyang, a little surprised by the other's piercing gaze, fumbled with his radio in a hurry, changing the music station. He was satisfied when he heard the beginning of Shawn Mendes' Teach me how to love.
"I hope that's okay with you?" he continued nervously.
"Oh yeah don't worry, I like his songs too.." Jeno relaxed a little more in his seat.
Oh a topic of conversation! Music was always a good conversation starter. Yangyang took this opportunity to turn to face him in turn.
"What else do you like? As artists? I love Troye Sivan!"
"Yeah, I really like his latest sound, Angel Baby."
Their conversation that had started shyly continued with a good wave of laughter and big smiles. The time passed so quickly that they didn't realize the road was finally clear.
Both of them continued to discuss about their private lives, what they will do later, and Jeno excitedly said that he would become a veterinarian and could see himself adopting three dogs. Yangyang cooed mentally at this.
"Since you like animals, our first place is based on that!" Accompanied by a wink, Yangyang let out a small laugh at Jeno's expression of incomprehension.
"Oh we've already arrived," he said as he stopped the car. They got out of the car, locked it and had to cross to the other crosswalk.
Jeno had no idea where he could take Yangyang back to, but he followed him without worrying too much.
Yangyang started to run and stopped in front of a small shop window and- Oh, it doesn't smell very good.
The sign was a peach color with a cat shape and on it was written "Felines & Company". He was really in trouble.
In the window, he could clearly see cats everywhere, even on the front counter. Two cats were enough to tickle him a little bit, but a horde of cats, it was quite possible that he would sneeze his soul out of him.
Yangyang excitedly pulled on his arm to go in and Jeno just didn't have the strength to refuse.
It's not like they would stay long either, a few minutes would be more than enough. They would just have to take their coffee and leave right away.
They ended up walking back together, waiting their turn to place their order and Yangyang still had his arm around his. Yangyang's sweet vanilla scent invading his nostrils but Jeno preferred not to dwell on it. Even though it was a good distraction from the cats sneaking up on him.
Jeno tried to focus on the menu in front of them but he couldn't because there was a cat on top of one of the pieces of furniture that was watching him with great attention.
This one was furry and much bigger than the other cats. Jeno had the impression that it wanted to pounce on him.
He didn't have time to run away when Yangyang pulled him to the counter to order their drinks.
"Jeno, what will you have? I'm hesitating between a caramel macchiato or a latte."
"I'll just have an americano "Jeno fumbled in his pockets to pull out his wallet.
I'll just have an americano" Jeno reached into his pockets and pulled out his wallet. "You choose what you want, I'll pay for it".
He was about to take out a few bills when Yangyang's hand landed on his hand, retracting his hand from the cashier.
Just the touch of her hand against his...
The heat from his hand that made her hands even more sweaty. Jeno's tingled slightly as if he wanted to take Yangyang's hand and not let it go.
Yangyang should really stop touching him like this, it made him a little more nervous. Especially for his poor little heart that had been beating rather fast since t'ai l'heure.
"What are you doing? I invited you so I'm paying" Yangyang scolded him slightly with a pout.
"Well, yes, but-" He took out his own money and handed it to the cashier. Jeno tried to reason with him, but he couldn't. Yangyang was a very stubborn person, a new information about him.
"No problem, I'll pay. Go and get us a place at the same time" Yangyang sent him away with a wave of his hand and Jeno had to go.
The cafe was quite big, there was much more space than he imagined. Several seats scattered with small tables, around there were either cat trees or dressers with lots of toys on them.
Jeno didn't linger any longer and took the seat farthest from the felines.
Yangyang came back with their order. They started their snacks in the greatest of the calm when suddenly Jeno felt something going up on his thighs.
"Oh no" he said softly, it was the big cat from earlier. Jeno froze on the spot, his fists clenched to prevent himself from sniffing. While Yangyang cooed at the newcomer, stroking his head.
"Look Jeno, don't you think he's cute?" sighed Yangyang, a small smile on his lips. Jeno would have nodded if only he didn't have to hold back a sneeze.
But he had to admit that he found Yangyang's smile even cuter. It made her look childish, a bit playful. Someone easy and fun to spend time with.
"Yeah," Jeno said, squinting at Yangyang's lips.
"But give him a treat, come on! He's just waiting for it!" Yangyang took a cat cookie from one of the jars before the cat started nibbling it. He giggled when the cat proceeded to lick his hand in thanks.
Jeno was too busy watching him that he didn't anticipate the cat's tail tickling the tip of his nose.
His throat was starting to itch terribly. He didn't even want to see what state he was in.
Yangyang looked at him with a worried look "Jeno are you okay? You're all red"
"Don't worry, it's just a heat stroke" He took a sip of his drink to cool down a bit.
Jeno couldn't take it anymore. If he said one more word, he was sure he wouldn't hold back. The urge to get it all out was keeping him in a chokehold.
Yangyang looked unconvinced, "But it's not even warm-"
ACHOUMM!
And from that moment, Yangyang had found himself soaked in his drink with the rest on the floor because of the big blow Jeno had given on their table. And he himself was more or less in a sneezing fit making the cat on top of him hoist, with many others hoisting in their turn
Well shit.
"I'm so sorry, I should have at least asked you if you were allergic to cats" Yangyang knelt down on the pavement again and muttered several apologies.
Next to him, Jeno was in a daze after what happened.
Jeno ended up creating a hellish noise with his sneezing and disturbing the other customers plus the cats. Yangyang had taken the situation into account only later when they were kicked out of the café.
Sitting on the pavement, they had not gone too far, taking advantage of the fresh air so that Jeno could catch his breath and calm down a little.
And since then Yangyang only apologised every time he took a breath of air. Jeno tried to reassure him several times that it wasn't his fault because he just didn't know about it.
"I thought it was a good idea to go to a cat cafe since you like animals"
"Wait did you plan this day around my tastes?" Jeno questioned him, his eyebrows furrowed.
"Yes, I thought it would cheer you up to do things you like..." The young man squirmed under his gauze, looking down at his lap, preferring to play with his hands.
Just to cheer him up? Yangyang is a really nice person. To think that he spends the day with someone he knows very little just to cheer him up. Those who are friends with him were lucky to have had such a caring friend.
"Well, I just hope the other activities aren't so... explosive"
I wouldn't say explosive but rather exciting?" Yangyang replied pretending to be ignorant but Jeno could see a small smirk on his lips.
"Arg I'm already exhausted" He took an exaggerated tone while closing his eyelids, hand on his heart.
"Dude, that's nothing against a young man of your size" Yangyang huffed while stroking his pectoral.
This caress on his chest spread a burning heat that covered the entire surface of his chest. It felt good to feel that.
Yangyang's face seemed to light up. Those round, rosy cheeks surrounding his beautiful smile that could rival the sun itself, those pink gums in displays, tidied up by a string of white, pointed canines. He really did have a beautiful smile.
Jeno joined in the laughter of the other, feeling the ardour in his cheeks. He himself wore a small, shy smile at his attention.
Leaving his hand pressed against him, Yangyang didn't seem to react to the way Jeno's heart was drumming in his cage. It must have been the effects of his allergy, that's all it should be.
"Look at you, you've already got everything you need for this" Yangyang pressed one of those muscles before releasing it but Jeno was in panic mode internally by the smirk and wink the other sent him.
And he didn't even know why. Donghyuck usually did worse things to him than that, like pinch his nipples, and even though he'd return the favor later, he didn't panic so much over a small gesture.
It must have had something to do with the look Yangyang gave him. Those fluttery lashes that cover starry eyes, those dimples that pop out with every big smile.
"Anyway, we have to go now" Yangyang stood up, undressed his clothes a bit before holding out his hand to Jeno. He grabbed her hand to get up.
"You don't have to take the car, it's not far" Yangyang started to walk towards the shopping street, where there were more people.
"And also sorry again about your hoodie" Jeno apologized referring to the big brown stain on it.
"Oh that's nothing, don't worry about it!" Yangyang had tried to salvage some of the damage but it only spread it further.
"Well at least it didn't ruin your clothes or Jaemin would have killed me."
It's true that he wouldn't have liked Jeno to come home with his clothes soaked in coffee.
Yangyang added, his hand behind his neck as a sign of nervousness "And then... You are rather pretty today" he walked a little faster.
Jeno was so surprised by his compliment that he tripped over himself.
It's like Jaemin said. Other people will see his charm and maybe beyond that. And the fact that it was Yangyang and not someone else gave him a little something.
Jeno babbled some words of thanks before telling her in turn. He couldn't see Yangyang's reaction as he was in front of him. But he could still admire the way his ears flushed a scarlet colour.
Cute, Jeno thought before catching up with him to walk at the same pace as him.
The usually quiet shopping street. We could hear shouts from right to left about a special Valentine's Day promotion. There are more merchants on these streets than on holidays.
Coupons for free roses or chocolates that will please your Valentine. Or the old managers who invite the local youth to come to their love hotel.
The two young men took advantage of the small markets around, stopping to see something interesting. Trying on the most ridiculous items in the market.
Jeno could tell he was feeling too good. Even though the day started badly, he managed to laugh at Yangyang's little jokes, which melted the weird atmosphere of earlier.
However, it is especially the fact that Yangyang has put his arm around him again. As if he wanted to play a couple to enjoy the free chocolates.
That's all he ever wanted to do on a date! Walking around with his date... Except that unfortunately this isn't really a date, just a playdate.
They continued walking until they reached the entrance of a funfair. There were all sorts of activities like duck fishing and thrill rides like the lift.
Yangyang took his hand and drew him towards the game stands. It was too crowded, but it was worth it for the activities.
The young man tried his luck on the game to knock over the cans. He missed several times before Jeno took over and hit the cans.
He chose a huge rabbit as a reward because Yangyang had been squinting at it for the last hour. Jeno offered him the toy, which Yangyang accepted and thanked him with a smile on his face.
Jeno smiled back at him and directed him to other stalls.
They played on the hammer to see who was the strongest person among themselves. Both of them couldn't reach the top but Jeno had done higher than Yangyang. He emboldened the other by showing him his arm and Yangyang retaliated by shoving him playfully.
They spent the time walking around, eating candy apples and cotton candy until the sun set.
Yangyang turned off the engine and put his hands on the steering wheel. He looked in her direction, his cheeks pulled into a small smile.
"How did you find the day?" he said, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel.
He was nervous. The beginning of their outing had been a disaster. Yangyang had nearly asphyxiated him on his first date after all. Poor Jeno, he surely couldn't imagine a date like this.
Especially since it must have left quite an impression on him.
He and Jeno hardly ever interacted. Even if they had friends in common, their only discussion was simple hellos. Without lying to himself, Yangyang felt a little embarrassed to be around him.
He had heard that he was the best in every subject, just this kind of rumours fascinated him a little. But when he saw it with his own eyes, he could only agree.
From time to time he could see the young man running around the baseball field, throwing a few balls with his friends. Or when they were in their biology class and Jeno raised his hand at every question the teacher asked.
Yangyang's eyes were only on him.
In every space where Jeno was, his eyes could always find him even in a crowd. And even if he didn't see him, he used to think about him and what he was doing everyday.
That's when Yangyang knew that he had a crush on the other one.
"Not to lie at first, I was a bit nervous since we don't know each other very well" Jeno replied, looking at his lap.
Well, at least the feeling was mutual.
"But you were able to act like we've been together for quite some time and that... That made me feel better." Jeno lifted his head to look him straight in the eye, before he broke into a smile.
A lovely smile that softened his strong features.
"I loved spending the day with you and I hope it won't be the last" He whispered the last part but Yangyang was paying so much attention to his lips that he could hear it.
"Thank you Yangyang"
Yangyang's heart skipped a beat at the call of his name and he wasn't sure if he could physically stop himself from going forward to kiss him.
"You're welcome" Yangyang looked away, his cheeks on fire as he forced himself not to smile. He knew very well what state his face was in. However, just knowing that he had managed to win a date and make Lee Jeno smile made him feel all flabby.
"Well I'm going to go...thanks for the ride and good night..." Jeno got out of the car and smiled at him one last time before heading to his building.
Yangyang admired him from afar before realizing that he had forgotten something.
The roses !
He took the package hidden behind his seat before running out and catching up with Jeno who was about to return.
"Jeno wait !" he shouted.
Jeno turned around and was about to ask him what was going on before he was overwhelmed by the fresh fragrance.
Beautiful purple roses covered his vision. A bunch of roses? For him? He felt his cheeks burning.
"Take them" Yangyang nudged the roses towards him. With his head bowed, his face full of red, he would not have met Jeno's eyes.
Jeno nods enthusiastically, gently cradling the bouquet against his chest. "Yangyang... No one has ever given me roses before."
Jeno started to smile uncontrollably, his eyes turning into crescents.
"I know it's a bit of a cliché but I hope you like them. I didn't have time to ask Jaemin what your favorite flower was."
"I love them" He says softly in a way that Yangyang almost didn't hear him.
Yangyang smiled in turn, his dimples in full display.
Jeno's heart jumped with joy and with a confidence coming from nowhere, he kissed Yangyang's dimple. Just as he had imagined... His cheeks were as soft as his hands...
Yangyang is so caught off guard by the kiss that he almost didn't catch Jeno's goodbye.
"Goodbye Jeno, have a goodnight" The hand against his cheek, Yangyang had a stupid smile on his face. He watched Jeno close the door behind him and when he was sure he was alone at last.
Yangyang ran to his car, opened the door and when he locked the car properly. He shouted with joy.
A kiss plus a chance for another date?
Yangyang had really hit the jackpot. Especially when he is the receiver of her beautiful smile.
