Effortless Dreams

Summary:

It’s in the way that you carve out your time
Cut out a raft in the sea of your life
Whenever your eyes meet mine
As if there’s nothing better to see
There’s nothing better to do
Than to be with me

It’s in the way that you listen
Rapt and attentive
Something sparkling in your eyes, like the sun
I thought they were questions at first
A sign of paying attention
Which so few people do

But it’s not so straightforward, is it?

Chapter Text

Your warmth
Is so close
Your skin
A hairsbreadth from mine
Smooth and lovely
Temptation in its simplest form

I want to feel the heat of you against me
To embrace you
To hold you so close
And for so long
That I’m never without you again

It’s so simple
You’re so near
All I have to do is bridge the distance
To dare
To touch

Your words sing to me
Passion sparking and igniting something deep in my soul
My fingers lighter than air as they dance closer

But

You’re too precious
Too lovely
Too adorable
Too much

I can’t lose you
I can’t push too far
Or too fast
I need you to stay
More than I need another breath

And 
I don’t know if you want me

I pull away
Joints aching
Heart fracturing
Every thread of thought ringing and screaming,
“No”

Instead I take what you give me
Your words wash over me
Encompass me
Not pulling like the magnetism of your skin to mine
But enough

I legitimately started watching this anime thinking it would be the worst of the worst tropes, thinking that I'd just get a good laugh and move on, and instead I'm now addicted to this soft, beautiful little story. I haven't started the manga yet, but I hopefully will soon, very soon.

Anyhow, I'm still a wee baby poet! Just writing some cheesy garbage because that almost hand touch scene KILLED ME. I don't have anything more up my sleeve for this fandom atm, but if anyone gives this a chance and might be interested in more, I'll give it my best shot!
