“Hold still.”
“You’ve had me holding still for hours now. Aren’t you done yet. Actually, what are you even doing?”
Hokuto had been surprised when Natsume suddenly came to him and said something about Wataru needing him in the club room. When they arrived Wataru wasn’t there but Natsume insisted that Wataru had needed Hokuto for something related to the club. Seeing as how their mentor wasn’t there though, Natsume opted to take over the space until Wataru arrived.
It was bothersome, but in the end Hokuto didn’t have anything better to do and no real complaints. He only complained now because Natsume had decided to try his hand at costume making in the same vein as one of his eccentric onii-chans. Hokuto was to be his dummy and he did his best to stand still as Natsume fitted one of Wataru’s old dresses to fit Hokuto.
“You can move.” Natsume finally sighed. The dress had been much too big on Hokuto but now it fits better. Natsume had only pinned things in place, not about to destroy one of Wataru’s dresses without permission.
“I look silly.” Hokuto frowned at his reflection.
“You’d look better if you let me do your makeup.” Natsume offered with a smile.
“Hmph, I think I’d look less silly if you were dressed up too.” Hokuto countered before grabbing for a dress that he had worn at the last show and threw it at Natsume. “We’re about the same size so it should fit you.”
Natsume stared at the garment and looked like he was going to regret the idea outright but instead turned away from Hokuto and slipped the dress up over his uniform. “A little help?” he called Hokuto over to get him to pull the zipper up. Now they were both in fluffy Victorian style outfits. “I look like one of Shu nii-sans dolls.”
“We both do.” Hokuto added, Natsume was wearing a more traditional deep red color like Valkyrie while Hokuto’s dress was the dark navy blue that Wataru favored. In the end it had been hours since they skipped class to come here for Wataru and the both of them had just been playing dress up.
Hokuto nearly jumped from surprise when Natsume took a hold of his long section of hair. “What are you…” he started but trailed off when he saw the shy look in the other ways, always confident Natsume’s eyes. He undid the little braid it was in and let the long sections frame Hokuto’s face.
“You could be really cute if you tried harder at it, Hokuto.”
The blue haired boy’s face grew warm at the comment and then noted how close the redhead had gotten to him. This was weird, this was so weird. The two of them didn’t talk much and when they did it was often Hokuto scolding him and Natsume ignoring him. Natsume called him a friend but it felt more like teasing than anything else. Even now he felt like he was being teased but there was also a faint blush on Natsume’s face. They were standing around in the theater club room wearing old dresses. The situation was bizarre, but then Hokuto realized that Natsume might be lonely. Things hadn’t been easy for the eccentrics lately and Natsume was rarely in class already and it became even more sparse since the bullying.
Without thinking, Hokuto leaned closer to Natsume and just barely missed his lips, instead kissing the side of his mouth.
“W-wh–whats are you?!” Natsume’s face turned scarlet and it was a nice change of pace given that he had Hokuto blushing earlier.
“You look like a princess, as the prince it is my duty to kiss you. If this was a fairytale a kiss would be enough to give you a happy ending.” Hokuto explained in that matter of fact way he had about him.
“You look like a princess too.” Natsume countered and over his mouth with the back of his hand to try and protect his lips and stop his blushing.
“Does that mean you’d rather kiss me?” Hokuto asked, still blunt but his blushing made it clear he was being serious.
“W-What’s with you?!”
Hokuto thought for a long moment before answering honestly. “I guess, I just think it’d be nice to kiss you. You said I’m cute, I think you’re cute. We get along well and well…neither one of us really have many friends.”
“I don’t want a pity kiss.” Natsume hissed at him.
“Then how about you kiss me because it’s my birthday soon?” Hokuto offered it as a means of a compromise. It seemed to do the trick because Natsume squinted at him. Hokuto knew that Natsume likely wanted to kiss him as well, he was a well known tsundere after all.
Natsume lowered his hand before placing it on Hokuto’s cheek and angling his head so they wouldn’t crash their noses into each other and then placed his lips lightly on Hokuto’s. Just a small peck. It was enough to make them both more honest and then Natsume was pulling Hokuto towards the theater couch to sit down while they continued to kiss, adding in some bites to his lip and slipping his tongue inside when Hokuto gasped. By the time Wataru came to the club room Hokuto was on top of Natsume, hands on his waist while Natsume’s hands were tangled in Hokuto’s hair.
“Oya!” Wataru grabbed his chest dramatically as the two boys jumped apart. “At least let me join!”
“No!”
