Captain’s Log 22 November 3021
Iceland looms as we approach our destination. We’ve been assigned to look for any archeological artifacts from anytime before Climate Disaster. It’s a shame that the world went to hell - well not exactly - but we are hoping to see some sign of life from anytime before 2035.
The weather - if we can call it that - is terrible. Snow, wind all blowing outside the spaceship. We have never seen anything like this, only read about this kind of weather in books. Astonishing to see what humanity was capable of with a planet that served them well.
Too bad we now live in space. I would have rather liked the prospect of grass and oceans from The Before. They look so lovely in all the holograms and books that were saved.
Erik and Logan are here as well, hoping to recover anything they can to send back to the main ship. Provisions are low, but then we have hope that the trip will yield something for us.
All three of us are unsure if this mission will succeed. Doubt filled us as we looked outside to find some comforting sign, because there was nothing to be seen from our windows. The clouds - or whatever these are - are surrounding the ship and making everything difficult to manage externally.
To pass the time, we’re trying to make the best of it. We all know a little bit about each other from all the other missions, but this time together feels fleeting.
Of course our attempts at getting to know each other involve all the alcohol we have in our stores.

Oh fuck that wasn’t supposed to record. Erik, put your damn pants on. Shit. Stop it HAL!
We weren’t supposed to get caught.
Stop it HAL! You’re a damn foolish AI.
I’m supposed to be responsible right now, not look like a tart.
Fuck, HAL, you weren’t supposed to record that either.

The weather turned on us; we’ve gone so far off course and the craft won’t last long. I have no clue how we’ll get to our destination or if we can stay there long enough once we arrive. Ruining the initial plans to get us here and back, we’re not hopeful of a smooth rest of this mission.
Erik and Logan are doing their level best to help with redirecting us back, but we are too far east for Erik alone to get us back.
Logan’s been cursing his usual blue streak for the situation we’re in.
That’s not very productive, but he’s set on it.
Meanwhile, I have to try and hold out hope we can be saved from wherever we’re landing.
That hope is hard, however, because so much of our mission was dependent on getting the three of us off the ship and at this point, I don’t even know if we’ll land somewhere important. I think we’re somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, not even a former country to study.

Craft crashed; using voice controls only now. Hoping that the unit will be able to send and relay our distress to the ships in the atmosphere.
In the crash, Erik used his powers and tried to slow us down, resulting in a massive head injury.
Logan did his best to help Erik just after the crash and also in suffering from some short term issues. Regenation has helped him, but he’s out of it. We’re trying as best we can to sort this out, but the odds are not looking good.

Erik’s still concussed. He can stay up if pressed, but everything still spins. Logan kept staying up with him before he checked on me at the end.
The concussion has made many of our other tasks on the ship hard to maintain. Much of Erik’s duties were dependent on his powers, but everything for him is hard to start and more difficult to complete.

Captain’s Log 2 December 3021
Dammit again! Why the hell can’t I get HAL to not turn on right now. Logan, get the hell out of here. Don’t forget your pants!
Everyone reading this is going to have words with me when - and I do mean when - we get back to the station.

Captain’s Log 4 December 3021
Logan left today to see what was on the ground where we landed. Erik’s up, with only a little difficulty, and trying to help keep us alive while we all hope we get some help from our transmissions.

Captain’s Log 7 December 3021
By a small mercy Logan was able to get something for the mission from wherever we landed. Thankfully it was a land mass that had relics, but right now I have no idea how useful they will be for the team back home.
But at least we have something.
Now if only I had hope that another ship would arrive to get us back home.

Captain’s Log 8 December 3021
Erik’s managed to get the full communication system up. Word of our distress has reached everyone and it sounds like someone will be here soon.
However, as Erik got that working, he collapsed from overexertion.
I worry that he was still concussed but tried to soldier on to save us.

Captain’s Log 12 December 3021
Erik’s ability to fix most of our sensors gave us warning that another ship was on its way to our aid.
Whoever is helming that ship hasn’t announced who they are, but I’m sure it’s someone I trust to get what little Logan recovered back to everyone else for analysis.
Knowing my luck it will be another ex of mine, just in time to point out that I really shouldn’t sleep with crew members on dangerous missions.

Captain’s Log 15 December 3021
Just my luck. Emma Frost arrived to haul our ship back to the pod. In time for all her side glances and knowing stares because all of these recordings were given to her for our location.
At least she also had a crew that could find ways to help both Logan and Erik from their various injuries.
We’ll arrive back with them in a matter of days, but I think it wouldn’t be horrible to return and see more of what’s left of Earth.
