Chapter Text
And every day remember that something is missing,
And every day she feels a void that she can't fill.
How do you go on knowing that it is missing?
Even if you don't remember your existence, you know that someone is missing, but you don't know if it's just a figment of the imagination, Despite the pain, however, you struggle trying not to break further to try to fill that void that you left in your heart.
Josie Saltzman had never been a very open girl, yet something had changed inside herself, she couldn't understand what it was, however, since they played that stupid football game and she had seen her boyfriend stare too fastening that girl whose name she still didn't know, but inside she knew there was something wrong, she had the feeling of having to remember something, something she
She was jealous that Landon had paid attention to that girl, but the thing that confused her the most was that she didn't care that Landon tried with someone, but the thing that disturbed her the most was that she didn't want to try with her.
As if you were someone important...
As if it meant everything, but at the same time it didn't mean anything.
It's been a while since she didn't feel like that anymore, since she decided to date Landon, suddenly that void had returned to devouring her, it was a lack that for some reason she couldn't fill, although Landon had managed to distract her enough to make her forget that feeling for a moment.
"So I was thinking we could try a second date?"
Josie looked at Landon slightly confused distracted by all those thoughts that turned by her head.
"Yes, of course, that sounds fantastic"
replied with a slight sigh on his way back to read his book, the lessons had just finished and they were both in the library to try to study even if Josie did nothing but think of that girl.
"Great, was I thinking we could go to the movies this Friday?"
Josie smiled slightly and then closed the books and put them in the bag.
"It's perfect... maybe it's better that she goes now, I promised Lizzie to help her with a magic course project therefore..."
She smiled slightly hoping that Landon would not notice the obvious excuse for being able to leave and go to the room to think about everything that was happening to her.
"Of course... see you tomorrow then"
She smiled slightly and then got up and left her a slight kiss on her lips.
"To see you tomorrow"
SHe answered the girl who began to move away quickly slightly raised.

Josie was in her room while stationing a pair of jeans when Lizzie arrived and began to ask questions about what had happened some time ago, why she had decided to hate Hope all that time.
"Why pit Josie against each other? Why lie?"
As soon as she heard the question from her sister, she felt guilt growing, she had made an unforgivable mistake and now had to face the consequences.
"I wanted to ask the same thing"
She sighed defeat as soon as she heard that voice, closed her eyes trying to look Hope in the eye, it was time to take on his responsibilities while she felt his heart beat fast in her chest looking at the girl he had been secretly loving for a long time.
"Not only did I lie..."
She turned to look at his sister for a moment and then came back to watch the copper-haired girl
"I start the fire"
She crossed her arms and approached Hope slightly.
"My sister pointed out to me that I was obsessed with you... and I told her... but I could never with someone who speaks ill of my twin..."
"But I didn't"
Hope responded looking at her slightly injured and this broke Josie's heart, because she knew it was the cause of all this disaster.
"I know... I invented it"
He said sighing slightly.
"Why?"
Hope got blinded looking at her slightly shiny eyes and this made Josie feel worse.
"I didn't want Lizzie to know the truth"
She swallowed slightly and then continued
"I got a crush on you... and that morning I put a ticket in your room, I don't know I regretted it right away but I couldn't enter anymore... so I made a fire spell"
She smiled bitterly at the memory while Hope now looked at her with an enigmatic expression on her face.
"I just wanted to make the ticket"
"Why didn't you tell me the truth?"
Lizzie asked to try a bunch of contrasting emotions inside if, turning Josie towards her.
"Because all my life, every time I liked someone you tried... and you win... always"
"Did you have a crush on me?"
She turned to the tribrid who smiled slightly, which confused Josie slightly even though she basically knew that that smile was due to the fact that Hope most likely felt just flattered.
"Of course i did... who wouldn't?"
She honestly said, because after all it was the truth, she no longer had a crush on Hope Mikaelson because now that crush was no longer a simple crush, now it was much more and although it hurts she preferred to keep it for herself, she wanted the girl she loved to be happy even if it had not she who made her happy, she knew it was someone else With the girl she loves.
Hope smiled at Josie and reciprocated the smile, for the moment this would have been enough for her and if she had had the opportunity to see that smile again it would certainly have been worth it, even if the price to pay would have been her inevitable fall.

Lizzie shook Josie trying to wake up her sister who woke up all sweaty and with tears in her eyes, she didn't remember much of the dream it was all blurred but what she felt was so vivid that she overwhelmed her, she still felt the bitterness in her mouth and her sister's expression, she remembered the conversation and
"Shhh.. it was just a dream"
Lizzie clenched her in an embrace while trying unnecessarily to hold her hiccups, she continued to cry for at least an hour in her sister's arms ... because she couldn't remember, she felt that persistent emptiness that pressed on her chest and a shadow of I love you stuck on her lips.

The next day she attended classes like every other day, she did everything as usual, except Landon.
She avoided the boy all day, for some reason she could no longer look him in the eye and felt more and more anger towards him than love ... she should love him but she couldn't, it was as if all the feelings felt for him had completely disappeared leaving room only for anger and contempt.
"You're avoiding me"
She immediately felt at his side and sighed defeat turning towards him.
"No, I'm not doing it"
She puffed annoyed by her presence and turned on her way to the library, Landon followed her not letting herself be discouraged.
"Did I do something wrong?"
He asked by making Josie feel guilty, she stopped to look at him trying to curb her impulses and suddenly shoot without reason, after all she knew he was a good boy and He did not deserve all that anger and resentment so she just shaking her head.
"No, it's just that I'm not particularly sociable today"
She sighed inventing an excuse on the fly.
"I only had a fight with Lizzie"
"Are you okay?"
He asked by placing a hand on his worried shoulder while Josie resisted the impulse to drive out her hand.
"Yes, don't worry... nothing that can't be solved"
He smiled slightly and then bit his lip.
"Why don't you go? Spend a day with Rafael since he's back now... maybe he'll need your help doesn't have to be easy for him right now... you know with the whole wolf issue"
Landon looked at her nodding lightly and sighed by hugging her
"Are you sure? I don't want to leave you alone knowing you're not well"
"Yes... don't worry, right now I think Rafael needs him more than you"
She forced herself to reciprocate the hug and smiled reassuringly at the boy who nodded and then greeted her with a kiss, sighed with relief as soon as Landon disappeared from her sight.
