I’ll catch you if you fall (Komahina)

Summary:

Basically I like writing the two of them dancing.

Notes:

Writing this at eleven at night- I’m so tired.
They are my otp and I know it’s short. I’ll probably rewrite this when I have a better grip on writing.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Hajime and Nagito sat down on the grass, chatting away.
“Hey, Nagito?”
“Yes, Hinata-Kun?”
“I told you, there’s no need for honorifics-“
“Sorry, I’m still really not used to it.”
“It’s fine.”
A comfortable silence followed before Hajime spoke again:
“How does your luck cycle work, anyway?”
“What do you mean?”
“Like can you control it, or is it just like a wild animal?”
“Well, if something good happens, something bad must follow.”
“Alright, can you give me an example?”
“Okay. If I found a perfect flower in that bush, I could be pricked by its thorns. That would be an example.”
“But you seem to let it control you.”
“What?”
“You let it control you actions, like a subconscious.”
“I do not.”
“Fine then.”
Hajime looked around the area, before finding what he needed. A stone wall, about two feet wide and five feet high. He stood up before pulling Nagito with him. He used his arms to pick himself up, onto the wall. He stood up before gesturing at Nagito to follow him.
“I can’t Hinata-Kun. My luck, remember?”
“Well, I’ve been thinking, since I was once Izuru, and he had all talents, I technically have luck too. So mine cancels it out, right?”
“That’s not how it works-“
“But that’s how it has been. Nothing horrible has happened to you lately. It’s calmed down.”
“I’m still not getting up there with you.”
“Please?”
“Fine.” Nagito took Hajime’s hand as he was hoisted up on top of the wall. Hajime held Nagito’s hand in his own as he stsraged to walk along it. They probably looked dumb, as Hajime twirled Nagito around.
“Hajime, I’m going to fall-“
“No you won’t-“
Of course Nagito’s luck had to kick in then. Nagito’s boot slipped and he fell backwards. But Hajime caught him. Nagito was over the edge, and Hajime pulled him down onto the grass again.
At that moment, for some lucky reason, Nagito knew he was the one.
