Work Text:

Two girls ran ahead, their silhouettes bathed in the flashing lights of the fairground ahead. One of them, the much taller, turned her head around and called out. “C'mon Sash! Hurry up dude!”

“Anne, you forced me to come here against my will, I have the right to walk slow.” Sasha looked at Anne with a small smile on their face, betraying the anger they wanted to let off. “I want to appreciate the fresh air before I get swarmed by little kids with sticky hands.” They looked away as they felt their cheeks heat up, their gaze falling upon the sky.

Sasha had never taken too much notice of the sky before Amphibia had taken place, to them, it was just another part of life, just like the birds chirping or the bustling city life of LA. After they got away from their busy life and spent time in the killer world though, they gained an appreciation for the view.

They say they'd never want to go stargazing, but they knew it was one of their biggest dreams.

The Earth sky was much different from that of Amphibia's. They shared similar skies in the day hours, a nice blue colour with lazy clouds drifting along. It was a stark difference at night though. Amphibia was painted a deep red as the moon rose, while Earth was shed with a range of shades. It could be a deep blue-purple on some nights while on others the sky was filled with different pinks and oranges.

Sasha couldn't help but notice how the flashing lights added to the sky's range. Bright reds, blues and greens flew below the skyline, their colours mixing oh so perfectly against the light evening sky.

Before they could think any more, a hand attached itself to their own and tugged them forward. Anne.

She pulled them forward to match her pace and met up with her shorter girlfriends quicker pace. How they missed this kind of stuff. Obviously, they all did this kind of stuff often enough for it to feel like normal, but as the wind ran though their short, choppy hair they couldn't believe that they could be a part of this life.

They felt okay, for once.
