Techno’s life wasn’t easy. On top of being a top hero, he knew too many dark secrets of his colleagues and handled the shitty government.
One of those things will change though, and he will take the secrets to his grave.
So yeah, he was taking down the government, and who else to help than the woman who gave him the idea. Niki had a look in her eyes as she stood outside the building where the officials were, giving a quick glance where Techno was hiding, waiting to jump in and help. As much as it was his plan, Niki deserved more than he did. Taking a quick breath, she walked into the building.
No one questioned why she was there, and no one stopped her so she took the lift up to the meeting room where everyone was. Going over the plan in her head one last time, she entered the room unnoticed and took a seat. They were all looking down at their phones, not a single care in the world and not sparing a glance at the new arrival. She was there for a total of five minutes before someone started the meeting, and even then no one was paying any attention. She tuned in and out of the conversation, finding it rather dull before she was mentioned. Well, not her exactly.
“Good news, the Arsonist hasn’t sent any letters today, maybe someone finally took him out!” Ah yes, they all think the Arsonist is a male like the sexists they are. Cunts.
“No, I’m still here, only I’ve come in person.” Now everyone was looking at her, watching as she pulled out a lighter and started to play with it. They took note of her tattered trench coat, tank top covered in ash, and her pink hair in messy space buns. On the outside, she was calm and collected, on the inside however, she was cussing out Techno for making her do this.
Apparently, they had a braincell because someone hit a button and water cannons came out of the walls, pointing in her direction. “Your fire powers can’t do much now Arsonist, we have water cannons that will put your fires out!” You see how much research they did, first they thought she was a man, now they think she had fire powers. Pathetic, they are. However, she was going to play this out for as long as she could.
“No one was answering my notes, you know it's awfully impolite to leave a lady waiting for a response, so I came straight here. Didn’t your mothers teach you manners?” Niki said, still toying with the lighter. Not a single one approached, too scared of being burnt.
“Anyone going to answer, no? Funny, you all come from high end families yet it's the poorer ones that have manners. If I had a penny for every time a small child politely asked for some change, I’d have enough to eradicate poverty and feed everyone. But I shouldn’t have to do that, not if you did your jobs and feed them. Oh wait, you all care about the money in your pockets and the higher districts that are more financially stable. If you cared, parents could see their children more and not have to worry about the next time they have a meal.” Several people objected, shouting over each other and giving Niki a headache. “Enough! I’ve had it with you. Either you change, or you go up in flames.” She stood up from her chair, and scanned the room. People started to sweat and mumble, discussing their options. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw someone inching towards the button that released the cannons.
“We’ve thought of your answer, and the answer is go to hell.” The guy pressed the button and all the water fired at her.
Fools.
Techno watched as they pressed the button and set to do his part. Using the shadows in the room, he filled the small gaps in the room, so all the water stayed in there. They misjudged Niki, now they pay.
She used all the water to start flooding the room, and pulled all the water from their reserves to fuel the flood. If they weren’t panicking yet, they’re panicking now. Niki started to laugh maniacally, happy with how well the plan was.
“Idiots, I can manipulate water. Say goodbye to everyone!” They were all taking in deep breaths before their sudden end, not processing the fact that Niki swam out and locked the door. Drying herself off, she headed back to the lift and waited for it to stop at her floor. In the lift already was Mumbo Jumbo, awkwardly standing in the corner.
“Oh hey Mumbo, how’ve you been?”
“Alright yeah, what are you doing here?”
“Nothing much, tearing down the government to help people. The usual.” Mambo hummed in agreement and walked her to the door, like a gentleman, and said goodbye and promised to visit the bakery soon. Techno met up with her and they left the scene, grabbing a drink before parting ways.
After that thrilling adventure Techno went home and tried having a nap but Chat started to spam ‘E’ and chant, so sleep wasn’t possible. Phil and Kristin were on a date and Wilbur was patrolling, so it left Tommy home. The angry blond demanded they watched films until they passed out, which was nice but Techno would never admit it.
He had to act shocked when the government officials were found dead and when an investigation took place and all their corrupt deeds were brought to light. You see, both he and Niki are innocent, believe me.
Puffy didn’t look surprised either, she just muttered it was about time and moved on with her day.
There were several positives that came from this, the main ones being that people in the lower districts didn’t have to worry about their next meal. Ant was very happy he could introduce his boyfriend to his friends without having to worry about their reactions, while Puffy was happy Niki could stop getting in dangerous situations.
The sheep hybrid nearly had a heart attack when Niki said she enrolled to become a hero.
