Work Text:

The hub alarms clanged as Owen, Jack, and Ianto walked in. Their eyes turned to immediate shock as they saw what was in front of them.

The area in front of them was an absolute mess, papers scattered all around, electronic parts in pieces, sparks dancing from frayed wires. There was a biohazard sign on the floor around a pool of something and most surprisingly of all, three weevils hogtied and unconscious.

And then there were Gwen and Tosh standing in front of them, laughing.

“Oh hello,” said Tosh, finally, when she saw them. “Back then?”

“What - what happened?” asked Jack, almost in a state of shock.

“Oh,” Gwen said, giggling. “While you boys were out, gallivanting the streets, we just cleaned up an Hhuid invasion - that’s the biohazard spill over there - stopped them from taking over our satellites and sending a signal to launch a nuclear bomb into the sky. Oh and the weevils got out, but we took care of that too.”

“All in a days work,” said Tosh, giving them a wide smile.

“Uh,” started Owen, but that was all he managed to get out. Both Ianto and Jack seemed to be similarly stunned.

“Right so I think we’ll take the rest of the day off,” said Tosh.

“Yes, we want to go shopping,” Gwen piped in. “On the company card, of course. I’m gonna get Tosh some boots for her date. And probably a new dress. Oh and maybe -“

“-You all can clean up right,” said Tosh, cutting Gwen off.

The three of them nodded silently, and watched as Gwen and Tosh made their way across the Hub and left through the cog door.

“Christ,” said Ianto.

“Yeah.” nodded Jack.

“Damn,” Owen mumbled, and the three of them looked at each other. “Bloody girls.”
