Chapter Text
Even before Percy had to watch his future with the gods, he was having a rotten day.
He was on Olympus, in the gardens, sitting just near the beautiful pond in the middle, after the Second titan War, with his grand-father no less. His relationship with the Titan Lord was so ridiculous; he had to resist the urge to laugh hysterically. His musings were cut off when someone sat next to him with no greeting.
He jumped about two feet in the air. He whipped his head to his side frantically, hand going to his right pocket where he had Riptide safely stowed away. He calmed down once he realized it wasn't someone trying to kill him. He then proceeded to flush when said person started laughing at his reaction.
"Oh, shut up, Wise Girl", He grumbled.
"Startled you, Seaweed Brain?" The person now identified as Annabeth asked mockingly with a smirk.
Percy glared at her, but there was no heat behind it. Annabeth laughed and shoved him. He grinned too. This is what he always yearned for, a peaceful moment with no one trying to kill him and his friends.
"Come on, Seaweed Brain. The gods are calling." She said, getting to her feet.
Percy rolled his eyes but followed her anyways.
Line Break
When they reached the throne room, everyone was chatting around.
Well, the demigods were. The gods, on the other hand, were screaming and yelling at each other. The demigods paid them no mind and carried on talking. Percy rolled his eyes for what seemed the fiftieth time that day. Annabeth left his side and went to her siblings who were excitedly brainstorming about what the gods' surprise was.
"So, what exactly are we still here for?" Percy asked, his leader voice cutting through the noise.
The gods whipped their faces to him as if just realizing that the demigods were still in their presence. Some of the Olympians who had lesser arrogance, blushed lightly and smiled at him sheepishly.
"We will be watching the future of a great hero." Hestia, his favorite goddess, told him with an amused smile.
The eyes of all demigods turned to him.
"Who, exactly, will we be watching?" He asked once he got his blush under control.
The gods looked at each other. Then in sync, they all said, "You."
He sighed, resigned to his fate.
"Oh, sure. I'm all for being embarrassed." He said sarcastically.
"Can we just get on with this?" Dionysus whined.
Apollo rolled his eyes. "Iris, you know what to do."
Percy prepared himself mentally as a misty screen formed.
'Ugh. Why is this my life?' He thought as colors lit up the screen.
