"Qin Yi Heng." He tried the name, dragging out the syllables.
"Qin Er." He called out to the retreating back. "Qin Yi Heng! Qin Er!"
Qin Er stopped. He could tell how tense Qin Er was, that Qin Er was calculating if it was worth it to turn around. He waited. One breath in, hold, one breath out.
Qin Er turned. He focused on how Qin Er rotated on his right, how his coat flapped around his knees. Qin Er gazed blankly at him.
"I thought you didn't remember anything."
He shrugged. "I got your name right." Qin Er suddenly strode up to him. He remained where he was, and let Qin Er get close.
Qin Er grabbed him by his coat lapels. He did not struggle. "Did you believe," he said slowly, "that the Jiang Shuo you met was the whole? It was but one part."
"I know." Qin Er hissed. He smirked involuntarily. "As were you. You didn't make that face while inside my psych."
Qin Er stopped breathing. "You're not him." Qin Er let go. "The Jiang Shuo you met was part of me. Liu Zhi is part of me. I'm learning to make my own peace, Doctor."
He stared Qin Er down. "Make your own peace. Or take over and claim the false peace as your own?" Qin Er spat.
Qin Er stepped back, and turned away. He watched Qin Er leave. He fiddled with his necklace. A ring, carefully carved to resemble an old coin.
"Qin Er." He tried the name, the tone of Jiang Shuo this time.
