Chapter Text
Minerva Charm had lived a full life. She was sitting at her old worn out desk writing down some final thoughts she wanted to pass onto her children and grandchildren. After all, her life was coming to an end very soon. She was a spell-caster and so she was able to predict the very day that she would die. It was in three days, and she had told no one. Instead, she would leave behind a diary, filled with secret spells, pictures of her and her children when they were younger, and a secret, a long held secret that needed to passed down to the next head of the Charm family. She wrote it down and put a spell onto it so that only the head of the family could read it and so that he couldn't repeat what he had read until the last week of his life.
The secret was kept a secret for good reason. The reaction that Darrel Charm would have once he knew was hard to guess. Minerva once had an older sibling, named Uxon. Uxon was originally supposed to be the head of the Charm household, however upon hearing the secret he became erratic and eventually ceased to exist. She sighed, and thought back to when she had found out.
"You are part of a game."
_____________The Story Begins____________ (teenaged Morgyn Ember has the traits Ambitious and Bookworm and not yet Outgoing) (Teenaged Minerva had the traits Bookworm and Self-assured and not yet Family-Oriented)
Teenaged Minerva was quickly growing to become one of the greatest spell-casters of all time. She was a studious student, taking her spell-caster lessons very seriously. Even the elders of that time knew of her name and would show her spells that would be far too advanced for any other teenaged spell-caster. She mastered them all. The only other spell-caster that came close to her skills in her class was Morgyn Ember. Often, they would have a competition to see who was the better spell-caster. In her childhood Morgyn was better than her being an Acolyte while she was still a Neophyte, however as of late Minerva was an Adept spellcaster while Morgyn was still an Acolyte. Needless to say Morgyn being the ambitious sim that he is didn't like that. Lately he had started to fight with Minerva.
"It's not fair! Mr. Silversweater only gave you the better grade because he's friends with your Dad Eveneus. He's biased and should have taken off more points for question four like he did mine." Morgyn was furious. He was acting like Minerva had deliberately tricked the professor into giving her one more point on her exam than him.
"Really? Is that what you think? Morgyn the question was about Transportalate. He wanted to know which sims species had a similar action to that. You said Ghost of all possible choices! The correct answer was Vampires. When asked to explained why you used a child's halloween book and cited it as if it was nonfiction! It's no wonder he took off a point for that. He should have taken several!" She scoffed, Morgyn was getting on her last nerves.
"Well what did he expect? I poked around and that question wasn't even in our textbooks until Year 4! We are in Year 3! I get it that it's close to the end of the year but that is no excuse! He shouldn't have asked such a hard question!" Morgyn practically screamed at her.
She sighed, "look, you need to calm down. I don't know what happened but as of the end of Fall you've been getting angry all the time. Did someone cast a spell on you? Do you want to check with Mr. Uwix, our Mischief teacher to check?"
He rolled his eyes. "You think someone could have casted a spell on me and gotten away with it?" he yelled, "I'm not that stupid! I'd never let something like that happen to me!" Tears were starting to roll down his face. "How dare you think of me so weak and frail!" He took out his wand and tried to cast a Zipzap spell on her but she rendered it useless and immediately returned it with a deliriate. It worked.
Unknown to Morgyn, Minerva had recently became immune to curses casted by spell-casters.
Morgyn immediately stumbled backwards a little and would have fallen if it wasn't for Minerva.
He frowned and Minerva smiled at him, "Hey Morgyn you were just about to get some rest." She helped him upright and took ahold of his hand, guiding him in the direction of the student dorms. He hesitated for a moment, "I, was?" He looked up at her dazed and confused. She nodded and off they went.
It was a little worrying, seeing how easily he has succumbed to her spell. But it might be enough prove that a spell was at play.
It took some work getting Morgyn up the stairs but, after a half an hour she had done it. Minerva laid Morgyn in his bed and wished she knew a sleeping spell of some kind. Instead she dimmed the lights.
Morgyn sat up as soon as she did that. Minerva tried to make him lay back down but Morgyn refused and looked at her with hesitancy. "Why is my face wet? Did something happen?"
She sighed and sat on the edge of the bed. Even Delirious, Morgyn was still a smart sim. He was almost always able to figure out when something was wrong.
"I think someone casted Furio on you. I was going to get Mr. Uwix in here after you fell asleep to check. When I said something about it you didn't seem so keen to let him so I wanted you to sleep so you wouldn't notice." She looked down at the ground, avoiding his gaze.
Surprisingly he didn't freak out like earlier. He just nodded, "Ugh, Okay."
She looked up, shocked. "Just okay? Why the sudden agreement?" Earlier you were furious!"
He sighed, "I don't know, just my head hurts a bit. Plus If I agree we'll figure out why I was upset, right?"
She bit her tongue a little too hard. She forgot that Deliriating a Sim who wasn't as powerful as you could cause that sim a headache and even to forget the past few hours! She nodded, keeping the fact that she was the reason he was crying a secret.
She took out her Sim Phone and called for Mr. Uwix. he appeared immediately.
---------------------------–-------------------------------------–-------------------------------------–-------------------------------------–-----------------------------------
Mr. Uwix had long black hair, tied back into a ponytail. He was most likely hundreds of years old but definitely did not act his age nor look it. The three Sages did not age. So since Mr. Uwix was the Sage of Mischief he did not age. He would forever be a young adult. Also his traits were Goofball, Self-Assured, and good. While he had good intentions he wasn't exactly the most serious sim.
"Morgyn! Minerva! I hope you have a good reason for why you called me during my break. Or else!" he did that evil, twisted smile he does so often to scare his students. Although Minerva and Morgyn had learned by now that it was all just an act. "Or else I could always use some more spiders for my lessons."
Morgyn looked a little squeamish but Minerva rolled her eyes. "Professor, I think someone casted Furio on Morgyn. He's always angry and so I was hoping you would check."
If Morgyn's thoughts weren't so scrambled he would have shouted at her for saying such a thing to her professor. Instead though, he just brought his knees up to his chess and buried his head. Partially because he was embarrassed but also because he still had a really bad headache.
Mr. Uwix noticed and frowned. "Morgyn what's wrong?" Mr. Uwix placed a hand on his shoulder, trying to offer some sort of comfort to Morgyn. Minerva also seemed alarmed and had a guilty look to her. The professor put two and two together.
"I suspect that Minerva isn't as innocent in this as she's pretending to be." he looked at her now with a raised eyebrow. "Am I right?"
She nodded with a frown. "we had gotten into a shouting fight about our exams and so I delirated him.."
The Sage looked at her with angry eyes and held onto his wand that was in his pocket. he didn't draw it but it was clear he might any moment. "YOU DID WHAT? AFTER I TOLD YOU NEVER TO USE THESE SPELLS WITHOUT A MASTER RANK SUPERVISION?"
She refused to meet his gaze. " I had to do it. He wouldn't calm down and when I told him that someone might have casted Furio on him he only got angrier. Don't lie, you would have done the same." She knew it too, after seeing him do the exact same to a student in her first year here. She found the confidence to meet his gaze. He just sighed.
"Alright, fine. Let's get this over with, but Minerva you're still getting a detention. The same goes for you Morgyn. Furioed or not, you should not have gotten into a shouting fight with another student." The two students groaned but were silent otherwise.
Mr. Uwix took out his wand and began the spell check. He found no sign of Furio on him. he decided to check the Sim's Moodlets. Perhaps he could use a reward potion to remove all bad moodlets, but they were kind of expensive and so he wanted to make sure that was the problem.
He found an angry moodlet, Needs Amusement, and a couple other moodlets like Fancy Soap and the Dazed moodlet as well. However, the angry moodlet stood out to him. It just said Angry. The moodlet was so strong that it overpowered all of his other moodlets. He looked at the time duration of it. His eyes widened in shock. There wasn't one! How could this be!" For the first time in a long time he felt genuine fear. He didn't know what to do.
Minerva seemed to notice, "What is Mr. Uwix? Is something wrong?" That seemed to get Morgyn to notice. He looked up at his professor too, looking a little scared of what he might say.
Mr. Uwix immediately put on a fake smile, "Ha, you should have seen your faces! I got you good with my fake freakout! Here, take this." he handed Morgyn a Moodlet Solver potion. Minerva smiled, thinking he was really joking while Morgyn just stared at the potion distantly and nodded as he finished off the potion. It worked.
A sigh of relief escaped his lips. Mr. Uwix still didn't know why he had that moodlet or if it would come back. However one small glance at Morgyn and you could tell he was exhausted. "Alright, it's a bit late. Morgyn and Minerva, you should both get some rest. We will discuss this some more in detention tomorrow. They nodded and Mr. Uwix teleported back to his classroom.
That's when he noticed. It was so small of change that he felt that he must have imagined it. The walls changed color. They went from dark blue to a wallpaper he had never seen before. He took out his wand and read the name of the wallpaper. It was called Night Sky. He was so sure there was no such thing as Night Sky as a wallpaper. But, there it was, no indication that it was never there before.
