Jason was in front of him taking the blow that was about to come at Tim. He watched as the pipe came down on Jason’s side and realized that in his current crouch it would have hit him right in the head. Tim threw a birdarang around Jason so that it landed in the goon’s leg making him crumple to the ground holding it in agony.
“Thanks, Red, be careful yeah?” Jason gave him a once over and then he was flinging out a grapple and running up the alley wall to get out of there.
Weird
. Tim thought to himself and then turned back to the men on the ground. He produced zip ties from his utility belt and went about his business tying up all of the men and attaching them together and then to a lamp post. He put a call in to the police that they needed an ambulance. When he finally heard the sirens he walked over to pull the birdarang from the man’s leg.
“This won’t be comfortable, but just remember that you kinda brought it on yourself. You're not gonna bleed out, but you will probably pass out from the smell of your own blood. The rest of you, have a lovely evening in jail.” He bowed and shot out his grapple just barely getting out of the alley before the paramedics were entering it.

Damian and he had been fighting for about a month now. At this point, he wasn’t even sure what started it, but neither of them was going to back down first and it had escalated into them battling anytime they saw one another. It had gotten so bad that Tim was permanently living at his nest again. This wasn’t the biggest problem, he quite liked his penthouse apartment, but it was annoying to have to connect to the cave every night to put in his report. Though after the last time the brat had threatened him with his sword he would pick minor inconvenience over stitches.
Tim was out on his patrol route, specifically designed to not cross with Batman and Robin’s route when the demon brat caught up to him.
“Red Robin.” Damian’s fake lower gravel voice came from behind him and Tim dropped into a spin kick to get some distance between him and the younger Robin.
“What do you want Baby Bat?” Tim took another step back as he stood out of his crouch.
“Your apology,” Damian responded with that feral look in his eyes.
“I’m not apologizing, you apologize.” Tim crossed his arms and subtly looked around to check his escape routes. Damian wouldn’t kill him, but the boy was still working through his anger issues and Tim really didn’t want stitches if he could avoid them.
Then someone was behind him again and Tim was really hoping it was Bruce who would tell Damian to put the sword away. His luck wasn’t great though because the modified voice of none other than Red Hood came from behind him. “Whatcha boys doing?”
“Red Robin is going to apologize to me.” / “Robin is going to drop his sword before I take it from him.” They both spoke at the same time and then were glaring at one another again.
Tim broke eye contact first and turned back to listen to Jason. “Alright… maybe you both should cool off- No!” Jason suddenly moved to be between Damian’s sword and Tim. The sword caught on his body armor and Tim was reminded just how small he was compared to Jason. He watched Jason grab the sword out o Damian’s hands and flip it around to sheath it where his crowbar stayed on his back. “Good luck explaining that one to the bat. Red, nice seeing you.”
And with that Jason was running off again. Tim wasted no time in getting away from Damian knowing that the kid was still a threat without his sword. It was starting to get weird though, Jason jumping in to save him.
---
“Red, watch your four!” Tim jumped up and used the guy who was about to charge him as leverage and threw him into his buddy. There was a small explosion and he was knocked back.
The next thing he knew he was flat on his back and Jason was standing over him defending him from the rest of penguin’s goons. He had made a call to Nightwing and once Dick was there the battle was over quickly. Then Jason was picking him up and carrying him out of the building in a fireman’s carry. “I’m gonna get this bird back to his nest.”
Tim blinked the spots out of his eyes as Jason checked him over for a concussion. “Yeah, standard protocol. Gotta keep you awake.”
“I don’t have a concussion.” Tim rolled his eyes. “It wasn’t that hard of a hit.”
“Well, I’ll believe that once you’ve stayed awake long enough.” Jason rolled his eyes and grabbed a couple of bottles of water from the fridge.
He was sitting next to him for a bit when Tim turned to look at him head-on. Staring at his long-time crush and now savior.
“Hey, Jay?” Tim asked quietly. “I have a question.”
Jason turned to look back at him and quirked an eyebrow. “Yeah?”
“How come you keep saving me?” Tim whispered out, afraid of the answer.
“Oh don’t you know by now Baby Bird?” Jason cupped Tim’s hand in his cheek. “There’s a simple answer.” He moved his hand to rub his thumb over Tim’s bottom lip. “I’m the only one who gets to hurt you.”
