Chapter Text
It was all gone. All of it. All up in flames.
Sun Wukong sat on a stool at Pigsy's Noodles. He had a blanket wrapped around him. He grasped it tightly, pulling it around him tighter and tighter. His face was blank and expressionless. He sat hunched over, staring at the bar table.
This couldn't be happening. This was all done sort of twisted nightmare. He had to wake up! He had to! His eyes felt hot. Before he knew it, tears streamed down his face again. Flowing, hot burning tears.
A small had touched his back, making the ancient monkey flich for a second. It was MK. His hand moved around the King's back, making circular motions.
Sun Wukong and MK both sat there in silence, both looking down at the table in front of them. Both with tears in their eyes.
The others looked at this display for a while. They had all silently agreed to let MK and Monkey King alone for a bit.
5 hours earlier
"Heya Bud!". Monkey King greeted MK as the young one walked up the mountain. MK had come for another day of training. The Great Sage always enjoyed the boys company. He never failed to make the monkey smile.
The monkeys all noticed MK as well and ran up to him. They all started grouping up around him. Grooming his hair, hanging onto his jacket. Jumping around the boy. This made Wukong beam. He loved how they had all accepted MK with open arms. "Okay guys, sorry to break up the party, but I need to steal MK now". Wukong said, receiving several upset chirps from the monkeys. After they had all finally left, MK and Wukong could get down to work.
Training was going pretty well. Both were enjoying themselves. The boy had improved a lot since their first sparring match. Though, he still couldn't beat The Great Divine Sage : Equal To Heaven! But mabey one day, Wukong thought.
The two had to take a break. MK was tired out, sparring with The Monkey King definitely made ya sweat.
So the two were sitting down enjoying the breeze. MK was sipping some water. It was nice and peaceful. The island smelled of sweet smells, such as peaches and flowers. The aroma had a hint of ocean smell to it too. It was all so pleasing, and calming. The warm sun and gentle breeze. The chirping of monkeys,(that were currently grooming Monkey King and several were around MK).
Suddenly a buzz disrupts the peacefulness. It was MK's phone. The buzzing makes Wukong and the rest of the monkeys perk up at the noise. It was Mei, she wanted to video call with MK. "Hey Monkey King, do you mind if I video chat with my friend Mei?",Mk asked turning to Wukong.
"Sure thing Bud, go right ahead", Wukong replied, going back to his relaxing. MK clicked the answer button on his screen.
"MK!!!", Mei exclaimed joyfully, "Are you still training with The Monkey King? Because I found this really cool game at the arcade that we need to try!".
"Well right now we are taking a break from sparring",Mk looked over at Monkey King, who smiled and nodded in says that yes he was free to go. "But yeah I'm free!".
"YES!!!" Mei cheered. She was really happy she could spend time with her bestfriend. He now spent a lot of time over at Flower Fruit Mountain, and then at work. Even though they still hung out, it was nice to spend more time together.
Then something in her mind clicked. Mk had said "we". So Monkey King was sitting over there, and could hear their call. While Mei didnt know the monkey, it would be kind of rude to invite someone out in front of another person. So she asked,"Hey, MK! If Monkey King wants he can come hang out with us!". Even if the Monkey King didn't want to, at least the offer was still out there.
MK looked over at Sun Wukong. Wukong was unsure about what to do. It's not that he didnt know how to play video games, (he was a pro at that of course), it was that he hadn't really been out too much in the city. He mostly just stayed on his mountain with his monkeys. Once in a while he would leave, like when he went to go help MK with the weather station. Or when he first met MK. But he didnt really hangout in the city, with people. But this was his successor asking him. And MK started doing his irresistible puppy dog eyes, and saying "please please please please". So Wukong gave in. He have a sigh, and then with a smile said, " Sure Bud, if ya want me to tag along, sure!".
Immediately MK had a big smile form along his face. The girl on the phone seemed excited too.
This was sure gonna be interesting.
