Bro Code

Summary:

Article I Section 6 of the Bro Code:
“You just cannot get involved with your bro's siblings or mother. It is one of the biggest violations of the bro code. A step mother whom he hates is still okay.”
-

When Dream imposed the bro code to everyone, he didn't expect two things. One is that Sapnap has a brother. And last but not the least, the said brother is literally the embodiment of perfection and everything that is good in the world.

Or.

Dream is screwed, Sapnap is not amused.

Work Text:

A/N: Can’t get this idea out of my head so I just had to write it.

Article I Section 6 of the Bro Code:

“You just cannot get involved with your bro's siblings or mother. It is one of the biggest violations of the bro code. A step mother whom he hates is still okay.”

As far as Dream can remember, Sapnap has always been his best bro.

They grew up together, they told each other anything that is bothering them, they go way back, and most importantly they have seen each other naked.

So yeah, Dream and Sapnap are best bro. The homies that kiss each other (no homo though), homies that would send each other’s pictures of their butt just so they could annoy each other.

Homies, best bro, the famous football player duo. Dream as the quarterback and Sapnap as the Center.

They are so well-known in their university as the inseparable duo that if Dream is not with Sapnap, then Sapnap is probably dead somewhere in a alley… or vise-versa.

“You know what, at this point you two should just date.” Quackity casually pointed out as they all eat their lunch as a group “That way, you’ll both be able to solve your cursed dating problems.”

Dream and Sapnap looked at each other before shrugging “Sure.” Dream said as he chewed on his bread “If by the end of our college life and I’m still single, I’ll just date Sapnap to get over it.”

Sapnap laughed “Awww Dreamie! I knew you always had feelings for me!” he said “But no offense though, you are not my type.”

Dream scoffed at him “Well then, I’m sorry too because I am not some skinny dude with brown hair color and grey ey- ow fucking Sapnap!” Dream rubbed his arm on where Sapnap had pinched him. Dream gave him a glare in which Sapnap just ignored

Meanwhile Quackity laughs as he looked at the both of them “That’s an oddly specific description…”

“Can we just leave my nonexistent love life alone? Thank you!” Sapnap loudly complained

Dream grinned “Not my fault that you still can’t get a date with that Karl dude from the debate club.”

“Karl?! You like Karl!?” Quackity screeched out making Sapnap roll his eyes

“Thank you for reminding me that Dream.” Sapnap sarcastically said “First of all it’s not my fault that I can’t talk to him, and lastly because.”

Quackity looked between them “Then why not let Dream help you out?” he asked “I mean you guys adhere to the bro code right? And Bro code clearly states that a bro should be a wingman for his bro to get the date they want or some shit close to that.”

“Dream is so obsessed with that bro code stuff honestly it’s irritating sometimes.” Sapnap said but then he looked at Dream “But yeah since you follow that bro code shits why not help me out with Karl?”

Dream shrugged “Bro code states that if you want me to be your wingman, it should be at a party.” Dream simply said “And I don’t know about you but we never see the love of your life in every party we go to so…”

Sapnap groaned “EXACTLY!” he loudly exclaimed “Karl is built different from the rest of us! He doesn’t like to party but that’s what exactly why I like him! I mean have you seen him every time he reads in the li-“

Dream let out a loud sighed effectively cutting off Sapnap’s rumbling “Yeah yeah we know Karl is so hot blah blah I want to talk to him but I can’t because I’m a wuss blah blah.” Dream said “Honestly if this keeps up, I’ll just talk to Karl instead then introduce you to him.”

Sapnap groaned as he banged his forehead on the table “Dream you wouldn’t understand!” he whined “Ugh I swear to god if you ever find someone you would like just like how I like Karl, I’m going to make your life hard!”

Quackity and Dream both laughed at that, already used to Sapnap’s empty threats by now “You can’t do that Sapnap!” Quackity said “Bro code states that you should always ‘have your bro's back, no matter what.’ And I think that applies when Dream becomes smitten with someone!” Quackity points out

Dream just scoffed “Not gonna happen because honestly I have standards you know.”

Sapnap rolled his eyes at him “You don’t know that Dreamy boy!” Sapnap teased “You know what Dream, one day that bro code is going to bite you back in your sorry ass.”

That made Dream laugh “I don’t really care that much about that bro code just that one rule that you shitheads can’t break.” Dream said as he looked at the both of them “And that is bro code number 6, ‘you just cannot get involved with your bro's siblings or mother.’ Because seriously I would not allow anyone one of you to date Drista. And yes that includes you Sapnap.”

Sapnap laughed as he scoffed “Does your sister have brown hair?” Dream shakes his head “Then I don’t see myself getting involve with her.” Sapnap then looked at Dream “You know what, you should be thankful that I am an only child, because honestly our genes are so good that if I had a sibling, they would probably be your type.”

Dream laughed “Not gonna happen Sapnap, I’m not going to date anyone that looks like you.” Dream then grimaced “I can’t even imagine what your sibling would look like ugh. No thanks, hard pass.”

Sapnap was about to open his mouth but then out of the corner of his eyes he can see Quackity on his phone, the said phone directly pointed at their faces “What the hell are you doing Quackity?” Sapnap asked as Dream also now notice the said device on Quackity’s hand

Quackity just shrugged “Filming a video of you two with this conversation.” He simply said “Just for future uses because we will never know.”

Both Dream and Sapnap just looked at each other, then shrugging as they did. “Well whatever, it’s not like Sapnap will magically have a brother. And if he does then I’ll be considered a pedophile if I were to able date his sibling.”

That made the three of them laugh, and just like that the topic has been dropped as they all finish their lunch as the lunch time is nearing to its end.

~o~oOo~o~

“I just want this term to end!” Dream grumbled as he heavily leaned on his chair already feeling the exhaustion crawling up to his body.

Beside him, Bad gave him a sympathetic smile “I know what you mean, our professor has been loading us with works too.” He said as he looked at Skeppy who is almost dead to the world “Just look at Skeppy, this is the 3rd time this week that he has to pull out an all-nighter just to finish everything.”

Dream sighed as he looked around their table, it was their usual group of friends consisting of Bad, Skeppy, Quackity and… Sapnap?

“Where is Sapnap?” Dream asked as he looked around the table.

Quackity shrugged as his attention is focused on the book he was reading “We thought that he was with you, because you know… you two are attached to the hip.”

Dream looked worried at this “The thing is, yesterday we were supposed to hang out in his apartment but then he bailed out saying that there was a family emergency…” he said getting the attention of the whole group including Skeppy who is finally slowly waking up “I tried messaging him but he didn’t even read it! I went to his apartment this morning to pick him up but he wasn’t there…”

“Maybe he was back home to his parents?” Skeppy offered, not used to Dream being this anxious “I mean if it’s really a family emergency it would be a plausible explanation on why he wasn’t in his apartment…”

“Have you tried calling Sapnap, Dream?” Bad offered

Dream nodded “Several times yes but he won’t answer…” he then groaned out of frustration “I haven’t heard from him in two days and I swear to god tha-“

“There he is!” Quackity suddenly exclaimed making all of them look at the direction on where Quackity is pointing at.

And true to his words, Sapnap is making his way towards the table, phone clutched in his hand as he was talking to someone over the phone. “Yeah don’t worry about it Mom…” Sapnap said as he finally arrived in front of the group, placing his bag down on the chair “Yeah yeah got it, don’t worry I’ll make sure he gets here safe… bye Mom talk to you later?” with that Sapnap finally released a tense sigh as he sinks down the chair.

None of them talked as they all looked at Sapnap who is rubbing his hand over his face, clearly stressed about something that they don’t know.

Sapnap finally noticed their staring, he gave them a small smile “Hey guys…” he said as he then turned his attention to Dream “Dude I’m sorry for ditching you but an emergency came up.”

Dream just gave Sapnap a hug in which Sapnap gratefully returned “I’m just glad you are okay Sapnap…” Dream whispered as they broke the hug “Don’t do that again, messaging me or answering my calls are fucking free you know!?”

“Language!” Bad instantly said “But yeah, what happened to you Sap? You look liked you aged.”

Sapnap sighed “Well no point in hiding it but…” Sapnap said as he looked at them “Something came up with my family.”

Quackity looked at him in concern “Did someone get hurt? Your Dad?” he worriedly asked

Sapnap just shakes his head “No… but it does involve my Dad at some degree…” Sapnap said

Dream gave him a comforting smile “You don’t have to tell us anything Sapnap if you are not comfortable with it. I mean I’m just glad that you are okay.”

Sapnap smiled at him “Thank you Dream but you guys are going to know it sooner or later so might as well get it over with.” Sapnap took a deep breath before looking at them with seriousness that is rare to see in Sapnap’s expression “So basically I… now have a brother whom I just met like… 2 days ago…”

Silence traveled in the table, all them processing what Sapnap just told them. It was Skeppy who broke the silence “You didn’t tell us that your mom was… pregnant? I mean… congrats…?”

“No you idiot-“ Sapnap said ignoring Bad’s ‘hey language!’ “Like… a brother 2 years older than me.”

“I’m so confused…?” Quackity slowly said

Sapnap nodded “Yeah me too!” he said “But yeah basically what happened is that way before my dad and my mom met, my dad got his college girlfriend pregnant but then shit happens.” Sapnap said gathering his thoughts as he did “Uh well… dad explained that his college girlfriend’s family are so against their relationship because of how rich they are and well… my dad is just a simple man. So when he got her pregnant, his girlfriend’s family took her away and the baby from him by going to London and obviously my dad can’t follow them so yeah the rest is history…”

“That fucking sucks.” Dream muttered and even Bad agreed that is messed up because he didn’t correct Dream’s language “Then what happened? I mean why are you hearing about your… half-brother right now?”

Sapnap looked at him “The thing is… after everything, we learned that dad’s ex-girlfriend never married anyone because of how much she loved my dad...” Sapnap sadly said “But she unfortunately died a month ago due to a heart attack…” Sapnap slowly said “And now for some fucked up reason, my half-brother’s grandparents wants him gone in their life because they never liked him due to him being an illegitimate son of their daughter.”

“What the actual fuck is that?” Quackity voiced out “They are literally going to abandon your brother just because their daughter didn’t marry your dad? When it’s literally their fault?”

Sapnap nodded, the justified anger he felt when he heard the news coming back to him slowly burning at his guts “I know right? I was fuming when I learned that shit. Like who does that!?”

“How did your mom take this news?” Skeppy slowly asked “I mean what was her reaction?”

“Oh she was angry, like fuming mad.” Sapnap immediately said “Not at my brother, but at my brother’s so-called family.” Sapnap clarified “She was so mad when dad told her the truth and everything, she said that it was none of their fault but all can be blamed at my brother’s grandparents.” Sapnap then smiled “She is actually excited and kinda happy when she learned that my brother reached out to my dad for help with everything going shit.” Sapnap sighed “And it seems like my brother and his mother knows that his existent is not welcomed, because his mother left him with vast wealth… like he could drop out of college right now and he wouldn’t have to worry about his future.”

Dream slowly nodded processing all of what Sapnap just told them “So what’s going to happen now?” he asked

Sapnap happily grinned at them “I get a brother dude!” he said excitingly “I still haven’t seen or talked to him but I’m so excited! We all are, we are waiting for him because he would fly here in Florida 2 days from now on!”

“That’s actually really cool of you Sapnap.” Bad noted happy for his friend “I mean you are taking this news really good.”

Sapnap smiled “I’m not going to be an asshole to my brother, from what I have learned he already suffered because of his grandparents, and honestly I just want him to be happy with us…” he sincerely said “After all… we are going to be family, all four of us. So, I can’t wait for him to be here!”

Dream smiled seeing the genuine happiness radiating off his best friend “Well, I’m sure if your brother is like you Sap, I would like him.”

Sapnap grinned at him “Thanks man!” he said “That will really mean a lot to me.”

~o~oOo~o~

Sapnap can’t stop bouncing his leg as he waits for George’s plane to open up so he could finally see his brother. His dad informed him that George already knows what he looks like, but Sapnap was left in the dark, all he knows that is George is older than him by 2 years.

Sapnap is fine with that, he just wished that his brother won’t be taller than him. Or tall, like Dream, because it would seriously hurt his ego if he will be towered by two tall people every time they hang out.

Dream actually offered Sapnap to be with him when picking up his brother at the airport, but Sapnap just refused saying that he needs to have a ‘alone’ time with his brother to get to know him. Dream respected his decision but demanded Sapnap to let him meet his brother as soon as possible.

Sapnap’s phone buzzed on his pocket indicating that a message has arrived, he fished it out of his pocket and opening it.

‘Your brother is already getting his luggage; he should be able to spot you know.’

Excitement crawled up in Sapnap’s nerves, he was in the middle of typing a message back to his dad when a weak and almost as if shy tap on his back caught his attention.

He slowly turned around, just to come face to face with probably a face that could rival Karl’s pretty one’s. The person in front of him is pretty, pale (probably one of the whitest people that Sapnap knows), cheeks tinted with red hues, and short.

The person is front of him is pretty and short.

“Your pretty short.” Sapnap blurted out not realizing that those two words combined has a different meaning

The person in front of him gave him a deadpanned look “Well in that case, you smell but you don’t see me blurting it out.”

That made Sapnap snapped out of it as he laughed “Oh my god! I’m sorry I mean your pretty and short, like not pretty short!” he said still laughing as he did

The person in front of him finally cracked as he laughed with him “This is really not what I was expecting for our first meeting…” the person said, but he was smiling nevertheless “I’m George…” he said “It’s nice to meet you, Nick.”

Realization set in as Sapnap’s jaw drop “Oh my god you are George!?” he said, George nodding in confirmation “Your… your British…” he slowly said as if confirming it

George laughed “Yep, British and I am your half-brother.” He said

Sapnap widely smiled and was unable to stop himself from giving George a bone-crushing hug “Dude! You’re my brother!” he exclaimed “I’m so happy that you are here now!” Sapnap said finally letting go of George who gave him a glare which Sapnap ignored “You know you might be older than me but since you are a lot way shorter than I am, I declare myself as the older brother here!”

George, out of Sapnap’s surprise, pinched him on his arm making Sapnap yelp “That’s not how it works prat!”

“That’s not how it works prat!” Sapnap mocked in a British accent he could muster “Oh god you’re so cute Goggy! And for the record, it’s dumbass. You’re in Florida right now so I’m going to teach you how to insult someone in the Florida way!”

George rolled his eyes but he was smiling “Goggy?” he whispered

Sapnap gave him a smile “From now on, you are Goggy to me.” He declared “Now come on Goggy, I know you are tired and all but I really want to spend time with you to get to know each other…” Sapnap then hesitantly added “If… that’s okay with you…?”

An emotion passed through George’s expression “Y-yeah…” he said “I… really want to get to know you too Nick…”

Sapnap can’t stop grinning “Sapnap.” He said “Since  I gave you a nickname, my name should be Sapnap to you.”

“Sapnap…” George tested out, liking how it rolled out of his tongue “Sounds dumb but I’ll call you that.”

Sapnap swing an arm around George’s shoulder “Now let’s go Goggy!” he excitingly said “It’s time for us to bond and shit!”

It was the first time they met, the first time they talked to each other, the first time they saw each other face to face but… as Sapnap looked down on his cute smiling brother… he felt as if he had known George for the longest time now.

And now that he is here, Sapnap is going to make sure that Goggy will be wanting to stay and be family with them.

~o~oOo~o~

When Sapnap arrived on their table on their lunch time, he was… glowing. Like he can’t stop smiling which immediately made everyone else smile because Sapnap smiling is infectious.

Dream is really happy for his best friend.

“So…” Dream started as Sapnap sat down beside him “How was your weekend with your brother?”

Dude!” Sapnap happily exclaimed “It was so awesome! Goggy is like the best ugh! I can’t believe that son of a bitches grandparents of his, hid Goggy from us for years!” Sapnap said “They might be old but I swear to god I will deck them in the face!”

Dream and the others laugh at how exaggerated Sapnap is, but they are truly happy for him “When are we going to meet him then?” Quackity asked

Sapnap looked at him suspiciously “Actually I’m starting to think about not introducing Goggy to you guys.” Sapnap was met with protest because of that “I mean I don’t want to scare him off…” he then looked at Bad and Skeppy “Oh except you two, you guys are cool and normal.” Bad grinned at that while Skeppy looked oddly proud at himself.

Sapnap ignored Quackity’s offended ‘Hey!’, Dream pouted “Not even to me? Come on Sappy! That’s not cool! I’m like your bro!”

Sapnap laughed “I’m just joking! Of course, I will introduce Goggy to you guys!” he said but then he looked at Dream with a serious expression making Dream confuse “Remember when you told me that bro code 6 is very important?”

Dream slowly nodded not getting why Sapnap is bring that up “Yeah…” he slowly said “What about it…?”

Sapnap gave him a grin “I’m going to impose that rule strictly on George, okay?” he simply said “I love you all guys but really I don’t want to see my brother being lovey dovey with any of my disgusting friends.” Sapnap shivered “Ugh especially to you Dream.” Sapnap then paused as if realizing something. “Oh god dude. I just realize something... George is exactly like I swear to god, exactly your type.”

Dream nervously laugh as Sapnap glared at him, he raises his arms in surrender “I promise you I will not make a move on your brother.” He seriously said

That seems to have appeased Sapnap a little bit “Swear it on your balls Dream, if you break it, you’ll have to chop off your balls and give them to me!”

Quackity burst out laughing “What are you even going to do with his balls Sapnap!?”

“I’m going to feed it to the dogs.” He simply said “Swear it Dream!” Sapnap insisted

Dream scoffed “I swear on my balls that I, Dream, will not make a move on your brother whom for your information I have never even met so you can’t make those threats to me you know?”

Sapnap looked at him the final time before nodding to himself, as if satisfied with everything “I’m serious Dream.” He said “I love you and all but ugh just… no.” Sapnap said

Bad smiled “It’s good that you are getting along with your brother Sapnap.” He voiced out

Sapnap once again smiled “George is so cool and cute so yeah!” he said “He is older than me but it doesn’t show because honestly he is just childish as I am. My parents already love him so much, it’s like our family is finally complete! Like he was the missing piece all along.” Sapnap sincerely said, features softening “I’m really glad to have him in our life.”

Dream smiled “Don’t forget to introduce us to him, okay? If he is important to you then… he is important to us too…”

Sapnap looked at him gratefully, smiling genuinely as he did “Thank you Dream, seriously.” He softly said

~o~oOo~o~

It’s been a week since George left England for good and flew half across the country just to be with people he doesn’t even know.

It was the best decision George has ever made in his life.

The death of his mother took a big toll on him, he always knew his grandparents hated him, but it only amplified when his mother died.

They treated him like shit, a stranger not a family.

But with Sapnap’s parents, it’s like he belonged there right in the very first place.

The moment he got to their home; he was immediately greeted with warm hugs and genuine smiles that he never received from anyone but from his late mother.

The warm hug made him tear up, making them worry up until he tearfully explained that the only person who showed affection to him was his mother and no one else.

The confession was a quiet and fearful one, but it was loud enough for them.

After that everything is a blur, Sapnap’s mom explaining that he wasn’t alone anymore, that he is family, they are family. Sapnap’s dad apologizing for everything that wasn’t his fault and had to control over, and finally Sapnap declaring that if someone were to ever hurt George, he would commit mass murder for him.

And just like that, he became George Davidson, part of a loving family, happy and contented. Gone the disappointment George Wilson, the George that was treated shit by his supposed to be family. The only regret that he has, is leaving his mother’s maiden name behind but… George knows that his mother is proud and happy with his decisions.

For the first time in his life, George is happy.

He loves his new family, and he wouldn’t trade them for whatever wealth he has right now.

“Sapnap!” George knocked on his brother’s room door. Ever since moving to Florida, Sapnap insisted that they share an apartment for the rest of their college year. Thus, after a week of moving and arranging, they now both shared a spacious yet comfortable warm apartment. “Ugh seriously Sapnap it’s like 12 in the afternoon now and you’re still asleep!” George rolled his eyes still not getting an answer from him. He sighed “I know it’s a Saturday but seriously?” he muttered under his breath. “I’m going to buy us food!” George finally said before grabbing his wallet off the counter and leaving the apartment.

He will just have to text his dumbass brother of where he went.

~o~oOo~o~

George is just glad that their apartment is near a local café who serves very decent food. He knows that it’s probably not healthy for the both of them to eat take-outs everyday but they really don’t have a choice because none of them can actually cook.

George decided to just eat at the café rather than bring back his food to their apartment and risk it getting cold for his comfort, sure it would mean that Sapnap’s food will be cold but he figured that his brother deserves it for being a lazy piece of shit who can’t wake up properly at a Saturday afternoon.

George was in the middle of eating when the café’s door opened up, the bells chiming as it did. There is a little to no customer given the time of the café so that made George look up from his food.

He was greeted by a sight of probably one of the gorgeous person that George has seen ever since he came to Florida, sure Sapnap is considered good-looking but this guy looks like Michelangelo’s sculpture. But blond, and tall, and very real.

The said blond must have notice him staring because they locked eyes, and oh god are his eyes yellow? Or are his colorblind eyes fucking him up again?

Either way, the blond is now walking towards him, and suddenly the floor became the most interesting thing for George’s eyes.

~o~oOo~o~

Dream is starving.

He skipped dinner because he was too tired to order food.

That’s why when he woke up, the very first thing that came to mind is well, food. It’s a good thing that there is a café near his apartment.

Putting in his most decent hoddie and a pair of black jeans, he was out of his apartment. As he walks, he contemplated texting Sapnap to meet up with him just so he could hang out with him, but Dream knows that Sapnap is probably just was tired as him because of how brutal the football practice was yesterday.

When Dream entered the café, he was just expecting to get food and be on his merry way.

He didn’t expect to lock eyes with the prettiest person he has ever laid eyes on. Like seriously, it’s like God took time creating the pretty boy in front of him.

Dream doesn’t believe in love at first sight but shit.

He didn’t even realize it but his legs started moving on its own, it was all too late for him to realized that he was in front of the guy.

The guy who wouldn’t meet his eyes.

Dream thought, fuck it, “Hello…” he called out and finally the guy looked to him, Dream had to swallow a lumped that form in his throat, not willing to say anything stupid “I’m uh… Dream.”

George smiled “Um… nice to meet you Dream…?” he unsurely greeted back before straightening in his sit “Mine is George…”

Dream thought this guy wouldn’t get anymore charming that he is, but apparently, he was wrong. The guy is British, why did he had to be British and have that endearing accent that makes Dream’s line of coherent thoughts disappear.

Dream just met the guy but he is sure that if George were to ask for the stars, Dream would give him the whole universe.

“George…” Dream echoed, liking the name and how it rolls off his tongue “That’s a cute name… fitting you actually.”

George’s pale skin didn’t make it hard for the blush to appear, “Is that how you talk to anyone you just met?” George said trying to at least compose himself

Dream laughed as he boldly took the empty seat in front of George “Believe it or not, no. Just those who I find genuinely beautiful.” Dream didn’t know where he got this kind of confidence but, fuck it right? Because honest to God, George has the prettiest smile he has ever seen.

George smirked, although his blush still evident on his cheeks, “You’re not so bad yourself too.” He shot back

Dream’s interest is now piqued to the brim, he can’t believe his luck that he was able to meet this guy because, holy Jesus. “Geez George…” Dream slowly said “If you are going to flirt with a guy, at least buy me a lunch.”

George laughed at this “Well you started this so…” he leaned forward and god it’s like Dream is back at middle school crushes because of how pretty George is up close “I wouldn’t mind if you buy me something.”

Dream widely smiled “How about a cup of tea? And probably with a side of biscuits?” he teased, fully knowing the common stereotype when it comes to British people.

As George giggles because of that, Dream swears he could hear the angel sings, he would kill just to hear George laugh everyday “First of all that’s racist.” Despite his words, George is smiling ear to ear “Second of all, yeah I would love that but only because I don’t like coffee.”

Dream dramatically gasps “I also don’t like coffee!” he excitingly said smiling even wider “I don’t know about you Georgie but if we are in a movie, this is the part where I would declare you as my soulmate.”

George didn’t know what is happening but, he can’t believe his Saturday is going this way. ‘God bless Florida’, he timidly thinks as the gorgeous blond continued looking at him as if he hung the stars and moon during the night. “We are not in a movie though Dream…” George teasingly points out, as if flirting with this total stranger is normal, and maybe it is. “So, what are you going to do now?”

Dream genuinely smiled, his eyes softening as it did “I want to get to know you George…” he seriously said, confidence flattering as he put his heart out “So what do you say… give me a chance…?” he softly said

George mirrored the expression he has, genuine yet warm “Of course.” He whispered back making Dream almost fall out of his chair due to excitement “But only if you treat me somewhere nice.”

If Dream is… well dreaming, then whoever wakes him up is a dead motherfucker. “Of course, George.” Dream warmly said “Only the best for you.”

~o~oOo~o~

“Dude.” Sapnap called out as Dream looked up from his phone “You’ve been smiling so much these past few days I’m starting to think that you got yourself a girlfriend or something.”

That made Dream pause for a second, “Huh…” he whispered then he shrugged “Well something like that…”

That made Sapnap giddy “You got a girlfriend!” he loudly exclaimed “Dude! Tell me everything, what the fuck!?”

That made Dream grin at him “Well not exactly a girlfriend… he is a he so…” he paused as if to gather his thoughts “And well we’ve only been talking for 3 days and been on a date once yesterday but Sapnap…” Dream smiled “I think… I really really like him.”

Sapnap grinned back “I’m so happy for you!” he said “You got to introduce him to me, you dumb fuck! Can I at least have his name?”

Dream was about to open his mouth to answer but his attention was diverted when he saw the others approaching as well “Guys!” he called out as Bad and the others waved at him before trudging and sitting at their usual spot at the table.

“So… what’s up?” Quackity said as he lowered his bag into the ground

“Dream boy here got himself a boyfriend BEHIND my back!”

All of their attention snapped to Dream who sighed “First, he is not my boyfriend but honestly I would want him to be but we’ve only met like 3 days ago and been on one date… I don’t want to scare him off.” Dream slowly explained “And honestly, if things are going to go great between us then I would’ve introduced him to you guys, honest!”

That appeased them as they all backed down, so with the attention being diverted to him Dream turned his attention to Sapnap “And you son of a bitch-“ ‘Hey! Language!’ “When will you introduce your brother to us?”

Sapnap hummed “Oh yeah about that, Goggy will join us at lunch.”

Dream smiled “Can’t wait to meet him.” he said then his attention fully shifted once his phone pinged, he pulled it out smiling more widely as he read the message.

Georgie

‘If you aren’t such an idiot, I would agree to a second date this upcoming weekend. But you’re an idiot :]’

That made Dream chuckled, pointedly ignoring the looks he was receiving from his friends, he could deal with them later but right now he has bigger priorities.

Priorities like having a date with George.

‘I might be an idiot but like you’ve said, I am gorgeous so maybe you can reconsider changing your answer? :D’

It didn’t even take a second before he got a reply back in return

Georgie

‘Fine, but only because I want to and it has nothing to do with how hot you look :]’

~o~oOo~o~

“5 dollars I say that Sapnap’s brother looks exactly like him.” Quackity said placing 5 dollars down the table “Boring, plain, and boring looking.”

Dream pulled out his wallet, placing 5 dollars into the pile “5 dollars I say that Sapnap is smaller than his brother that’s why it took him this long to introduce him to us.” Dream said “He can’t handle the fact that he is a short person.”

“To be fair, we are all average height, you are the only one who has an abnormal height here Dream.” Bad pointed out “And honestly I don’t think it’s… appropriate for us to bet on how Sapnap’s brother would look like.”

“5 dollars I bet that Sapnap’s brother is cute.” Skeppy said placing 5 dollars on the growing pile, he gave Bad a sheepish smile “I mean Sapnap did tell us that his brother is Dream’s type and well we know ‘Dream’s’ type…”

Dream hummed, his mind immediately thinking of George and how cute he is whatever he does. Simp. “That is very true.” Dream said as he nods “But I do have high standards.” He felt the need to add.

Dream’s phone buzzed, his attention turning to it thus missing when Sapnap and his brother finally entered their university’s cafeteria.

Georgie

‘Ugh can’t probably talk to you during lunch because my dumb brother is making me meet his friends :[. Ngl, I’m anxious.’

He typed out a reply, failing to notice that Sapnap is finally introducing his brother to everyone. His attention completely zoned into his device

‘I’m sure they will love you, just smile and everyone will definitely like you. I know because that’s what happened to me :)’

“… and that dumbass over there who is obsessed with his fucking phone is Dream!”

That made Dream look up as he suddenly heard his name, as he looked up, he was meet with an unimpressed glare from Sapnap and as Dream’s eyes wander to the person beside his best friend…

Dream is sure that his soul is slowly being drained out of his physical body.

He suddenly stood up, as if he was suddenly electrocuted by the chair “George?!” he gasps out.

George, on the other hand, just smiled at him unaware of the looming disaster at the horizon “Hi Dream! I didn’t realize that you know my brother!”

That made Sapnap look at George with so much confusion displayed on his face, “What the fuck is happening?” Sapnap slowly asked, his head turning to look at Dream then back at George then finally back at Dream “Hello? Am I missing something here???”

Dream painfully smiled, like this interaction is physically causing him pain. Which honestly not far from what he is feeling. “George…” he slowly said “You didn’t tell me you had a brother…”

George, still clueless, just tilted his head to the side “Well yeah it never really came up, but Sapnap here is my brother.”

Dream just closed his eyes, as he could feel a migraine coming up. “Sapnap can… can I talk to you over there?” he suddenly asked, and he didn’t bother waiting for the other man’s reply because Dream is already walking away from the group.

Dream took a deep breath because, what in the fuck is this plot twist?

~o~oOo~o~

“Sap-“

“No.”

“Come on Sapnap-“

Sapnap glared at him “Dude no.” he said “You promised me. We promised each other that our siblings would not be in the picture.”

Dream heavily sighed “I know that Sapnap but-“

Sapnap’s glare only intensifies “Come on dude, you clearly told me that you respect that bro code shit. You can’t do me dirty like this.”

Dream sighed in defeat, his resolve flattering the more Sapnap looked at him “What do you want me to do then?” Dream weakly asked “I really like your brother Sapnap, and I don’t know if he feels the same but… I really want things to work out with him…”

Sapnap’s glare soften but his resolve is still steeled in his expression “I don’t know what to tell you Dream but…” Sapnap trailed off his gaze going to where George and the others are talking “Please… just, don’t do this to me.” Sapnap’s tone says and all.

Dream followed Sapnap’s gaze, until his blond eyes landed on George. He let out a shaking breath of air “Okay…” Dream whispered, heart breaking the more he gazed at George “Yeah okay… I respect our friendship Sapnap.” Dream said smiling at Sapnap as their eyes met “I… I will talk to George…. about this…”

That made Sapnap gratefully smile at him “Thank you Dream, really.”

That was the end of it.

~o~oOo~o~

Dream said that he will talk to George about what happened between him and Sapnap but he never did.

He actually can’t.

And Dream knows that he probably look like a complete asshole but he just can’t talk to George about it all.

They text, but Dream keeps it short and cold. And it hurts him every time that George would try to initiate a conversation but he just can’t return the enthusiasm.

Because every time Dream replies, even if it’s short and cold, it feels like he is betraying Sapnap in a way.

Came in Saturday, in which they should have had their second date.

Dream bailed out, saying that he was sick. He was not.

Dream wanted to cry when George replied with a simple,

Georgie

‘Oh… um get well soon Dream. If you need anything feel free to reach out to me or Sapnap…’

Dream mourned out the love he never got to feel.

~o~oOo~o~

George, for the lack of better term, is heartbroken.

He knows he shouldn’t, after all he literally just met Dream a week ago.

But that week with Dream are one of the best highlights of his day. Every waking moment with a simple text from Dream is more than enough to place a smile on George’s lips, every silly jokes, and every late night talks are what George is looking forward everyday and night.

Then suddenly, it all stopped.

For some reason, Dream became distant to him. Dream became cold.

As if… Dream is bored of him.

It broke George’s heart. In the most pathetic way possible.

George knows that he has a problem, after all he latches to anyone who would show him even the slightest affection. Because how could he not? He grew up only feeling his mother’s love for him. No friends because of how strict his grandparents are over him, no freedom, no childhood, no nothing. He grew up rich, had an extravagant roof over his head, ate more than 3 times a day, got whatever he wants. But all of those are material things that he never truly owns, nothing, right from the very start, he has nothing despite having everything.

George becomes easily attach to anyone who would give him even an ounce of affection, and he knows that is a problem for him. But can you really blame him? He just wanted to belong, he just wanted to be loved the way he doesn’t know.

In a way, George got what he wanted, in the form of Sapnap and his now parents.

George is happy. Truly happy.

He has a loving family now, a protective brother even though he is older than Sapnap by 2 years, a humble roof over his head, foods to eat.

So why is his heart aching over something that he never lost in the first place?

‘Oh right…’ George thought closing his phone as Dream never replied to his last message ‘It’s because I like him…’

It was a scary emotion to feel at first, after all he never liked anyone before. There is only one person that George truly loved, and that is his mother.

Now? George loves a lot of things.  His now parents for starters, Sapnap his lazy ass brother, hanging out with Bad, Skeppy, and Quackity. Dream. Dream.

George knows it’s all too soon but… he really felt different when he was with Dream.

He just wants Dream back.

~o~oOo~o~

It was all muscle memory, that whenever Dream is sad, he would go to the café where he first met George.

He would order whatever he feels like eating, taking it out, and eating it alone in his apartment like a loser.

A simple tap on his shoulder managed to snap him out of his depressing thoughts. He turned around to face whoever it is, he was greeted by a pink haired girl he knows too well “Niki!” he greeted

Niki beamed at him “Dream long time no see! I… well I mean I saw you the other day but I never really got the chance to say hi!”

The thing that Dream likes about her is that her smile is contagious, so it wasn’t long that he finds himself smiling “I’m sorry been busy with stuff…” he said then an idea popped out of his head “Hey Niki… are you currently free?”

Niki looked at him, smiling knowingly at him “You need someone to talk to?” she gently offered

Dream is so grateful for her “Yes actually and… it’s not something I can’t talk to Sapnap…”

Niki nodded, sympathy flooding her features “You’ll have to treat me though…” she giggled

Dream smiled at her “Of course, pick whatever you like because you are going to be here for a while with me.”

Niki didn’t seem to mind, and in Dream’s book she is really a great friend.

~o~oOo~o~

‘Huh… well she is pretty…’

Was the first thought that came to George’s mind staring at the café where he was supposed to get lunch for both him and Sapnap.

Here he was, standing outside looking pathetically as Dream leaned forward as he whispered something on the girl’s ear, making the other giggle in response.

‘He could have just said he was on another date than lying…’ and without even noticing it, George left the scene, his mind numb and honestly, he was just tired.

He didn’t even realize that he was back on his and Sapnap’s apartment, really it was a miracle for him to have made it unscathed. He just opened the door, in hopes of just sleeping throughout the day up until it reached Monday.

He just wants to clear his head, be alone for a while.

“George…?”

George looked up as he realizes that Sapnap was looking worriedly at him “Huh…?”

Sapnap grip George’s elbow, seemingly steadying him “What happened to you Goggy? Why do you look like you are about to cry in the doorway?” he gently asked “Did something happen to you? Are you okay?”

That made George snapped, events coming back to him like a flash of light.

He tried; George really tried to stop to unshed tears from falling but he miserably failed. Out of the blur from his own tears, he didn’t even realize that he was crying his heart out in front of Sapnap.

He cried even harder when he felt his brother’s arms around him, comforting him in a warm and quite unfamiliar way.

“He is a fucking liar Sapnap…!” he managed to gasps out “I hate him so much! He could… he could have just told me the truth…!”

The more tears that George sheds the more Sapnap’s heart breaks for his brother. He tightened his hold on his brother “He?” he angrily asked

Sapnap felt George nodded against his chest “Fucking Dream… he… he told me he was sick but… he was with s-someone just now.” George sobbed hands tightening at Sapnap’s clothes, wrinkling it. “I hate him…!”

Sapnap took a deep breath, as much as he was angry and confused with Dream now, he can’t let his anger get the best of him. Because above all, his brother now comes first.

They stayed like that for a while, George crying his heart out, Sapnap comforting him the best way he can.

This is exactly what Sapnap is trying to prevent, but it seems like he stopped it too late.

He and Dream might have been best friend who grew up together like brother’s from another mother… but the more George shakes and cries in his arms, the more it becomes a blur to Sapnap.

He loves Dream like a brother, but George is his brother.

~o~oOo~o~

Sapnap can only see red, which he knows is not a good thing. It’s like as if the storm brewing in his guts can only be solved if he could physically hurt someone. Which is not him… at all. After all, between him and Dream, he was always been the pacifist. Often wanting to solve problems with communication.

The moment he arrived at the table where Dream and the other are talking, the chatting cease as the others finally the look on his face.

“Sapna-“

Dream flinched as Sapnap suddenly slammed his fist over the metal table, just right in front of Dream. Dream’s eyes widen in surprise and in alarm at the hostility that Sapnap is showing him.

“You motherfucker Clay.” Sapnap breath out, the pain from his knuckles only fueling his anger more. Sapnap can’t even remember the last time he called Dream by his real name “This… this is exactly why I told you to stay the hell away from my brother you fucking piece of shit!”

Quackity stood up placing a shaking hand over Sapnap’s shoulder “H-hey…” he said in a frightened tone that they never had expected that will come from Quackity “Chill out Sapnap, people are looking at us…”

And true to his words, the whole cafeteria’s attention was on them. After all, it’s not like you’ll get to see their Quarterback and Center in a possible a fight.

“Come on Sapnap… calm down…” Bad gently called out, his eyes on Sapnap’s expression “Whatever it is between you two, I’m sure you can work it out as friends, right?”

Sapnap looked at them before harshly shrugging Quackity’s hands off his shoulder. “Don’t make me throw our years away Dream, because I fucking will.” He venomously said “If I see George cry one more fucking time because of you shit fuck, I’m going to forget our friendship even existed in the first place. You are dead to me Clay.”

And just like that, with an air full of heavy tension, Sapnap left without any other words being said that hasn’t already been uttered.

~o~oOo~o~

“Sapnap!”

Sapnap groaned turning around to face Dream, his glare still on place “What do you want Dream?” He coldly asks as the blond followed him out of the cafeteria and into an empty gym.

Dream took a deep breath, fully knowing that if he becomes angry as well, then no talking would be done. “Sapnap let’s talk about this yeah?” Dream pleaded “You know if we both argue about this, it’s never going to end.” Dream looked directly at Sapnap “Please Sapnap…”

Sapnap seems to deflate at Dream’s expression, he let out a weary sigh, all anger slowly evaporating but is being replaced with tiredness instead “Why would you do George like that?” he quietly asked

“It must have been a misunderstanding Sapnap… I…” Dream still looks unsure “I don’t exactly know why you told me that I made George cry to be completely honest…”

It must have ticked something off Sapnap because he was glaring again “George saw you on a date Saturday afternoon, he told me that you I don’t know you rejected him or some shit like that and when he came home, he was all crying and telling me how much of a fucking liar you are and how much he hates you.”

Then everything clicked in place “Saturday…?” Dream echoed “But… I was with Niki the whole afternoon…” he muttered but Sapnap heard him anyway

“Huh?”

Dream nodded “He must have seen me with Niki… and Sapnap you know that there is literally nothing between me and Niki right?” when Sapnap nodded Dream continued “I’m just going to say it but Sapnap, I was with Niki because I needed someone to talk to…”

Confusion took over Sapnap’s expression “Dude…” he muttered “If you needed someone to talk to, you know I am always available for you right?”

Dream winced, he knows that, “I know that Sapnap but… it’s about my feelings for… George and I know you wouldn’t appreciate it if I… talk about him to you…”

Silence took over between them, as if Sapnap is processing everything. Finally Sapnap smiled at Dream, gone the hostility and replaced with understanding “Do… do you really like my brother that much?” he softly asked

Dream nodded “More than anything Sapnap.” He seriously said, eyes never leaving Sapnap’s own “He is different Sap, he is both funny and sarcastic, he is I swear to god insanely smart yet really dumb at the same time but it is the cute kind of dumb, he has this stupidly cute smile, he is so short like I could use him as an armrest, and don’t even get me started on how pretty he is because hone-“

Dream was cut off as Sapnap began laughing, making Dream blush as he realized why his best friend is laughing “Fuck you Sapnap, stop laughing at me!”

That made Sapnap calm down but he was still chuckling, “Down bad Dream boy, down bad.” Sapnap teasingly said “Remember our conversation about the bro code 6 that you so heavily insisted?”

Dream sighed, knowing that it was basically his fault “Yeah, you don’t need to remind me…” he whispered, he gave Sapnap a weak smile “Don’t worry about it Sapnap I promise I’ll seriously talk to George this time. I really like him Sapnap but… I don’t want to lose you or our friendship…” it physically pained Dream to say that but he was a man of his words.

Sapnap rolled his eyes at him, as he crossed his arms “You fucking idiot.” Sapnap endearingly said making Dream look at him in confusion, making Sapnap smile at him “I don’t know what I am going to do with your balls but… I will be expecting it.”

Balls…

Sapnap wants his… balls…?

WHAT!?” Dream screamed as realization set in “W-wait WHAT!?” Dream still can’t believe it “Are… are you like…?” Dream waved his arms around him as if finding the right words to say

Sapnap huffed “Yes, you idiot.” He firmly said “I can’t be the reason on why you and George will not be together because… I’ve never seen you like that Dream…” he muttered “I know you and… I know that George will be in good hands…” Sapnap said grinning at him “Take care of him Dream, okay? He… he has been through a lot. I just want the best for my brother… and I know that you can give that to him.”

Dream gave Sapnap a crushing heart, trying his hardest to hold back the tears threatening to fall from his eyes “Thank you Sapnap.” He whispered tightening his hold “I promise you, I’ll take care of him…”

That made Sapnap chuckle, his arms hugging his best friend back “I know you will…” he sincerely said “Now please don’t cry on me, I can’t have my two favorite people in my life crying on my arms in just a span of 24 hours, my heart can’t take that shit.”

Dream laughed as Sapnap only hugged him tighter, him returning the favor; they will be okay.

Everything will be okay.

~o~oOo~o~

What do you want liar?

Was the very first thing that Dream heard the moment he knocked on George and Sapnap’s apartment.

After the confrontation between Sapnap and Dream, after the few tears that were sheds and new promises were made, Sapnap immediately told Dream to ‘get things straight with George or else.’

That’s why Dream is currently standing just outside the door, facing an irritated looking George.

“Can… can you please let me in George?” he weakly asked

George glared at him “It depends… are you still sick?”

Dream in his part, winced at the cold tone that George has, “George please… just let me explain everything…”

George looked up and down to him before finally let out a sigh of defeat as he opened the door to let Dream in.

Dream followed George inside as they both sat down on the couch on the apartment’s living room “Talk because honestly I have a lot of things to do.”

Dream took a deep breath “Okay first, I was with Niki that Saturday, we are just friends, there is nothing going on between us I promise you George.”

That must have surprise George because he was looking at Dream with doubt, but before he could open his mouth, Dream cut him off “The reason why I acted the way like that towards you is because… I respected Sapnap…”

“Sapnap? What does Sapnap have something to do with how much of an asshole that you are?”

Dream sighed, he knows that is the truth, “I… we kinda have this bro code that we follow and erm, one of them is that you can’t date your best bro’s siblings…” now that Dream is saying that out loud, it sounds stupid and dumb.

George on the other hand, seemed unamused “Uh-huh… that’s dumb like you and Sapnap.”

Dream chuckled “Well yeah now it sounds dumb.” He said “But yeah, Sapnap asked me to not… date you because he won’t approve of us…” Dream said “But please don’t hate on him he is just worried about you and that he really wants to protect you and all so-“

George just hummed, effectively cutting Dream off “I know that…” he whispered, “Sapnap is dumb, I can handle myself.” He said but not an ounce of hatred or even irritation towards his brother “But I can understand where he is coming from… I’m not mad at him…” George looked at Dream “But I am mad at you, dipshit. You could have at least told me about the conversation between you and Sapnap but no, you acted like you shoved up a long stick in your fucking ass!”

Dream, with a burst of confidence, took George’s hands gently holding it, soft. “I’m so sorry George…” he whispered unable to look directly at George’s eyes out of shame “I was so scared because I really like you, I know we’ve only been talking for like a week and been on one date but honestly… it isn’t hard to like someone as perfect as you…” he said “Every conversation we have, every time you laugh, and god every time you say something even if it’s dumb, I… just can’t stop myself from liking you more. So, when Sapnap told me to stay away from you, I became scared because I don’t want to stay away from you… I want to be with you George, more than anyone else… there was never an anyone else George, Sapnap can attest to that.’

There was a silence between them. Dream still can’t look at George as he still hasn’t let go of his hands.

Finally, George sigh making Dream finally look up to the most beautiful person he has ever laid eyes on “What made Sapnap change his mind…?” he softly asked instead

Dream couldn’t help but chuckle “I now don’t own any of my balls George.” he simply said chuckling as George finally let out a smile of his own “Like honestly Georgie, I like you so much that I am very much willing to give my balls to your brother!”

George laughed and it was the most beautiful thing that Dream has ever heard, everything about him is beautiful its almost too unfair for other people. “Is it worth it though?” George asked eyes turning into cute little crescent shapes because of his smile

Dream let his fingers slip between George’s own, their hands fitting perfectly like a puzzle piece meant to hold together, smiling more widely as George gently squeezed back “So worth it…” he lovingly whispered. “Can… can you give me a chance again George? I promise I won’t fuck up, I just… really like you…”

When George pretends to ponder it made Dream let out a wheeze laugh “Oh I don’t know Dream, I’ve been in the university for a week now and… I got to say I got some pretty interesting offers by some people there…”

Dream pouted “Georgeeeeee” he whined “Pleaseee! I gave up my balls for you, I’m sure none of the other people can offer you that!” Dream kissed the back of George’s hand, making him blush in the most adorable way possible “Plus you told me that I am gorgeous so that must mean something right?”

George laughed “Fine I’ll go on a stupid date with you…” he smiled “But only because I like you too dumbass.”

Dream is definitely now over the moon, his heart beating fast as George’s brown eyes locked into his. “Can I kiss you?” Dream quietly asked

George’s blush seems to be a permanent thing right now, but it still didn’t stop George from giving Dream a small smirk of his “You can… but I will definitely tell Sapnap that we made out on the couch just so he would hate you.”

Dream groaned as George laugh “Please don’t, I’m still on thin ice!”

George giggled but he leaned forward the moment he knew that Dream would not expect it, he placed a small, short but sweet kiss on Dream’s lips making the other look at him in surprise, blushing as the action finally synched on Dream’s mind. George smiled “That’s all you get for being an asshole to me.” He confidently said “Do better on our second date and maybe we can make out.”

Dream is sure that a smile is now permanently etched on his face, he gently cupped George’s face with his free hand cradling it as if it is something precious, which it is because George is, he guided George’s forehead until he was able to place a short sweet forehead kiss of his own, “For now, this is okay for me…” Dream lovingly whispered

“You’re such an idiot…” George whispered as Dream softly laugh as the two hugged which other, George’s head perfectly slotting between Dream’s shoulder and neck, Dream’s hand gently and almost carefully holding George’s head, the other wrapped protectively at George’s waist. George snuggling at the warmth being offered to him.

This is bliss, this is everything that they wanted right from the start.

It is perfect.

“What’s going to happen to your stupid bro code now, Dream?” George suddenly asked out of the blue, still perfectly steady on Dream’s arms.

Dream looked at him, beautiful perfect George in his arms, he hummed “Oh that? Yeah, screw that.”

As George laugh, Dream knows, that everything he could ask for is right there in his arms. Perfect, happy, and warm.

Article I Section 6 of the Bro Code:

“You just cannot get involved with your bro's siblings or mother. It is one of the biggest violations of the bro code. A step mother whom he hates is still okay.”
