Yagi Toshinori walked stiffly through all of the check-ups Tartarus had. Decontamination, weapons check, record check, all of it.
He was here to see the greatest bane of his existence: All for One.
Ever since Young Midoriya had left, chaos was left in his wake. Thankfully, the news didn’t hear Midoriya’s confession of his former quirkless status and One for All, which was a huge relief. Unfortunately, they did catch him willingly going into the portal, and the news blew up at that.
Boycotts, protests, and countless news articles talking about Young Midoriya’s turn to villainy, and what it meant that U.A. Had such a promising student become a villain. How neglectful was U.A.? What went on inside their doors? How poorly did they treat their students?
U.A. was barely hanging on a thread to stay open. With being cancelled left and right, a lot of their funds had mysteriously vanished. Probably because no companies had wanted to be associated with a school that was under fire right now. This meant that Nedzu had to rely on the Commission for funds, which he hated. Almost everyone at U.A. knew how much Nedzu despised the Commission.
The Commission was hesitant to fund the top Hero school too, but not because of bad press, no. Because Nedzu had still managed to keep their slimy claws off his school. The Commission had tried to use this opportunity to take control of the school, like many others, but Nedzu was smart, and he managed to keep them out still.
But Yagi feared that the Commission would have enough soon. They would probably give an ultimatum; take their funds and give them control of the school, or refuse their terms and have the school crash down.
Toshinori felt himself puff up in rage. All for One definitely knew about that. Hell, he probably planned for it. Smug Bastard.
Even if All for One was telling the truth (which was highly unlikely) in that he didn’t say a thing to his successor, Toshinori knew he had answers for how Young Midoriya turned out this way.
As Yagi finally approached All for One’s cell, he took a deep breath to calm himself. He had to be civil. He couldn’t let that man see how affected he was by this whole ordeal. Though, he would probably be able to see, especially given the questions he was going to ask.
“Ah, there you are, All Might. I was worried they wouldn’t let you come. Then again, procedures take a long time here, don’t they?” Ah, there he was.
All for One was strapped down to a medical table, hooked up to multiple life-support machines. Several guns were aimed at him, watching his every move. Toshinori scoffed at that. It would take a lot more than guns and simple weaponry to take the Symbol of Evil down.
All for One grinned. “Though, should I call you Yagi instead? You are effectively retired, you know?”
“Just ‘All Might’ is fine, All for One.” Yagi grounded out, already done with this conversation. But he couldn’t leave yet, he needed answers.
“What do I owe the pleasure of this conversation? Ah, don’t answer that. You came to talk about Izuku Midoriya, didn’t you?” All for One’s smugness practically radiated in waves from him.
“Don’t say his name.” Toshinori growled. “You have no right to.”
“Why, don’t be like that.” All for One chided. “Be civil, All Might.”
In an attempt to get rid of his growing rage, he ignored the Supervillain. “Why did young Midoriya turn to the side of villains?”
All for One was silent. Then, “would you like a list?” He offered mockingly. “It will take some time, possibly more time then you have, so you’ll have to come back again-”
“Shut. Up.” Toshinori snapped. “I asked a question, don’t reply with more questions.
All for One laughed slightly. “Right, right, yes.” He sighed. “While I cannot say for sure when it comes to the events that lead up to his turn to villany before my dear Tomura took him, I can say that Tomura’s little group treated him very kindly, in which he returned that kindness.”
All Might grinded his teeth together. “He’s like that.” He managed to get out.
“I can see.” All for One said. “I can imagine that he wasn’t shown much kindness in his short life before Tomura’s group, as he reacted quite alarmingly when given it.” All for One chuckled in what seemed like a fond way. “He almost cried every time he was given affection or positive attention.”
All Might let out a fond smile at that. That sounded like him.
All for One’s face suddenly lost all playfulness. It wasn’t serious, but it was more blank now. “Though, I can imagine that one of your own students calling him a traitor and beating him senseless just because he wasn’t screaming senselessly at Tomura’s group didn’t exactly help.”
All Might coughed up blood. “ What?? ”
“Ah. I’m assuming Bakugou didn’t mention that. Well, I didn’t expect him to. He doesn’t seem like the type to admit his wrongdoings.”
All Might looked at the SS-Rank Villain before him. Shocked.
“But, I will give you some speculation as to what led up to this turn of events before Kamino Ward. When I used Search on him, I found something odd. He had an extra toe joint. Since the boy hasn’t shown any other quirks outside of One for All, I can assume he was quirkless before you bestowed OFA onto him, correct?”
All Might nodded faintly.
“Well, I may have been bedridden for the last 5 years, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t see the changes society underwent. Specifically, quirkless discrimination.”
He noticed the shade of paleness All Might had taken on and grinned. “This sounds familiar, yes? Your successor had told you about the statistics and given you a few hints as to what his life was before then, so I assume I don’t need to go into detail. Though, I will mention how odd it is that Bakugou calls Izuku ‘Deku’. It’s also strange how he always subconsciously repressed a flinch at the name. Quite odd indeed…”
All Might was drawing some conclusions in his head, and they weren’t good.
“Though, I don’t think that your teaching helped the boy out, if you can even call it that.” All for One continued. “A teacher is meant to help their student become independent, yes, but they can’t possibly expect the student to be able to solve the equations just because you show them the problem. Really, leaving the boy alone to test out One for All and not even helping him control it when you saw what it did to his body. Quite neglectful and shameful of you, Toshinori.” The Supervillain chided.
“We’re done here.” He snapped, feeling his spine crawl at the cruel laughter of All for One behind him.
“I did try to help you, Yagi Toshinori. Remember that!” He called out as Yagi left.
All for One watched with sadistic glee as he trained his eyes on Toshinori’s receding figure.
It was quite poetic, he thought, that Tomura Shigaraki and Izuku Midoriya had ended up together. One for All and All for One had always been drawn to each other. Battle after battle, successor after successor, All for One and One for All always found their way back to each other.
“Though this time,” he mumbled to himself, “it seems All for One and One for All are drawn together not by Bloodshed, but by love. Quite interesting indeed…”
