Chapter Text
Fixing up cars is what I loved to do. I loved fixing them up and driving them as fast as the engine could handle as I felt the air blowing through my hair. It made me feel free. As free as I could while being stuck on Earth.
I was so far away from home and unable to ever return. My planet was attacked with only a few people being able to escape. I don’t know if the others made it out safely. All I remember is landing on Earth and being greeted by a man with an eye patch. He asked me a million questions about who I was and where I came from. He eventually believed my story and helped me hide among the humans.
I always wondered if I could ever return home and if my family would still be there. But the thought that there might be nothing left, kept me from going.
A year after living in my little cottage outside of Portland, I got an unexpected visitor.
“Nick Fury, what a surprise.” I said as I was actually surprised to see him. He would not really contact me. Said it was safer for him to keep a distance from me.
“Astris, I came to tell you that SHIELD was compromised. A lot of your files are under SWORD so they might not find you but...”
“But you’re saying there is still a possibility they’ll come for me and do what? Experiment on me?”
“I’m not sure. I just think it’ll be best if you’re moved outside of the US.”
I sighed, “And go where?”
“Whatever country you want.”
“Even on Earth, I’m not safe from being hunted down.”
They called it the blip. I was in a small german town grabbing some milk and stuff to cook with tonight then people around me starting disappearing. A car that now had no driver was about to crash into a group of people who were not paying attention. I quickly stood in front of the car grabbing the hood causing it to stop.
A couple of people turned to notice I had just done that. I quickly grab my stuff and begin walking away. I walk by a bar to look at the TV noticing that it was happening all over the planet. Something terrible must have happened.
As the days passed, the number of people disappearing kept going up. It was impossible to tell exactly how many had passed since all that was left was dust. I tried to call Fury but he never answered. I had to know what happened. Nothing made sense.
