Work Text:
aizawa shota have never been good at socializing with others, perhaps because he never even tried doing it in the first place. since he can remember, he's always been on his own, not really having the energy to care what the people around him thought of him, or tried to change it.
to be completely honest, shota was happy with the way things were. people didn't disturb him, and he didn't disturb them.
well, except for one person maybe.
"SHOOTAAAA!"
yamada hizashi was the one and only who had been persistent on being shotas friend. he had started talking to him when they began the same class in high-school, not really understanding the signs shota gave him to fuck off, and tormented him until shota gave in and just accepted that hizashi just wouldn't go away.
to say that they were inseparable during the years afterwards would be an understatement. even though the differences between the two were like night and day, they never left each other's side.
they started high-school together, graduated together and moved in together.
they had realized in the end of their last year in high-school that somewhere along the way, they had gone from friends-to lovers. it wasn't a big deal for the two teenagers though, it was more like,
"hey, hizashi."
"mm?"
"i think i like you."
"oh, i already knew that."
…
"do you like me?"
"i love you, shota."
…
"i love you too."
and then they suddenly were a couple. or well, officially, most of the people around them would probably say that they had been dating since the first day they met.
so after high-school they got an apartment together, one close to shotas hero agency and just a train ride to hizashis radio studio.
during their years in the little apartment they managed to get three cats, orange, popcorn and dynamite. the two first cats were named by shota, until hizashi had enough and named the last one. (shota was not impressed nor surprised by the name his boyfriend had given her.)
when they one day felt that their home was too small for their liking, they packed their bags and moved to a two floored house, fit for a bigger family.
they both started working at UA, feeling more and more like a married couple than boyfriends by now, and working their way up to call themselves 'proud heroes'.
while the time went, students walked in and out of the big gates to UA, some which had made a bigger impact than others on the two teachers.
boyfriends became husbands, three cats became four and somewhere along the way, there were suddenly two children living under their roof with them.
the grey haired little girl became best friends with the new kitten, which she named sparkle, and her new older brother managed to calm down the often so furious dynamite.
it was no longer just shota. now it was shota and hizashi, eri and hitoshi together with orange, popcorn, dynamite and sparkle.
slowly shota had started to have more than one friend, found people he actually wanted near 24/7 and a family he loved more than words could ever describe.
