Work Text:

Schwarma was delicious but the exhaustion in the group was palpable. What was also telegraphing loud and clear was that no one wanted to be alone right now. It was actually Natasha who suggested a movie. So they piled into one of the undamaged rooms in Tony’s tower, one with a big couch and a bigger screen. “Something easy on the nerves,” Bruce suggested quietly and Clint couldn’t help but agree. He was a bit jumpy and he could feel the tension running through Natasha even as she partially dozed through their meal.

“Disney,” Clint suggested then looked at Steve. “Maybe some classic stuff?”

“Not Snow White,” was all Natasha had to say about it before peeling off her boots and flopping out on the couch near the right side where the L was.

“Bambi,” Tony suggested sarcastically.

“What about Robin Hood?” Bruce had taken a seat next to Natasha on the sofa, leaning back already looking like he was ready to fall asleep.

“Robin Hood,” they agreed as Thor threw a few pillows down on the floor and laid near where their feet would be.

“I’m cold,” Natasha said making grabby hands in the direction of the blanket behind Bruce. “Thank you.”

Clint slid in next to her, throwing an arm around the back of the sofa so she could settle in a bit easier. “Holding up,” he asked her quietly. Natasha just nodded and slid a little closer, though Clint couldn’t miss the fact that she’d already insinuated her feet under Bruce’s thigh for warmth.

Steve sat on the other side of Clint with Tony next to him once the picture started, Jarvis dimming the lights. Once that happened, it started to happen. Slowly Steve nodded out and wound up half pressed into Clint. No one said anything and Clint didn’t care. Call it unit cohesion, he supposed as he wrapped an arm around Steve. The guy seemed much smaller like this than he had just a few hours ago fighting the Chitauri.

As the Merry Band of Thieves traipsed through the forest, Clint noticed that Bruce was nodding out, his hand settled on Natasha’s calf. It was nice that he was seeking connection though Clint didn’t know if Natasha was the right girl for Bruce. He wasn’t questioning it tonight, though. They continued to fall out, the sound of Thor sleeping at their feet was amusing though his snoring did make it hard to watch the movie from time to time. “Think the God of Thunder has sleep apnea,” Natasha whispered in Clint’s ear and got a little smile. Tomorrow they would take Loki to Central Park and get rid of the son of a bitch, hopefully forever. Tonight, it looked like he was going to kip on the couch with his team.

After Steve, Bruce, and Thor, Tony was next despite fighting it like a little kid. He wanted to stay out here with them but he also wanted to sleep and eventually sort of curled in on his side next to Steve and went down for the count. Natasha and Clint were the last men standing so to speak and instead of stealing the glory from her, he finally gave in and let himself drift off. What felt like moments later, he was stirred by Natasha sliding down to rest her head in his lap. Clint looked around to see that Thor had turned over to face them and was currently hugging one of Tony’s legs. Tony had shifted closer to Steve and ended up with his cheek pressed to Steve’s side. In the moment, all Clint could do was smile sleepily before drifting back off and hope he remembered enough tomorrow to tease a few of them.
